Theresa, I hope you can hold off the wheelchair for a long time! I know MS can be so debilitating...a friend of the family also has it and I know she's having a badder (?? is that a word?) day when she has to use her cane.

Between you & I liking to chat (and ramble, lol), we'll keep this board active. And hopefully others will want to join in with us.

I really need to stop chatting on here and get busy working out...but I still have some others threads I got notifications from so won't be going anywhere soon. lol

Hi Dawn glad to have u here with us. Don't worry about rambling cause I find myself doing it too. So we should get along just fine. I'm really glad u joined us here. Glad ur maintaining ur weight. I gained most of mine back and now I'm struggling to lose it again. I have MS so its very hard for me. I'm not wheelchair bound yet that is why I started this team so I could keep myself motivated and moving daily so I don't end up in the wheelchair. See I told u I ramble on too. Great to have u with us. I look forward to getting to know u better.

emoticon I'm Dawn and I "heard" about this team in a Spark email while on vacation this past week. Just got home this morning so I thought I'd take a look around now.

I've been maintaining a weight that I can live with for several months so my focus now is toning up and working toward healthier food choices. That last part is hard when it's just me and a teenage boy in the house...and the boy wants junk! So I do well most of the time but mix in "junk" occasionally, and I'm so thankful that I've never been able to eat much so the junk doesn't hurt as much. If I know we're having junk for dinner, I'll fix myself a fruit smoothie for lunch...and almonds for a snack instead of those few pieces of Brookside Acai & Blueberry candies (my big indulgence now!).

Oh, and I should've warned you that I ramble! lol

Hi my name is Lynette. I am a married mom of 2 boys, 14 and 17. I have been on Sparkpeople since Feb. I have lost 20lbs so far mostly while on Nutrisystem. I usually do 30 min of aerobic activity a day (mostly hiking or walking workouts) but have not really incorporated weights or toning.

I had a bout of depression and lack of motivation over the winter and I gained back 25 lbs of 30 lbs that I had lost so that was a big kick in my pants. Hello (again) everyone, my name is Dawn, or DW, or daleenw if you prefer.
I was on here for a little while last year with moderate success but around December lost my motivation, and then couldn't get back on the horse so to speak. I had become very depressed -- still dealing with that -- but looking back on the last six months I think SP had more of an affect on me than I knew. I gained 7 lbs while I was away and for me that's hardly anything compared to prior bouts with my demons, so I guess I won't beat myself up too bad for it.
I've been taking small steps for several months now trying to get myself back on track both emotionally and physically. I finally got back on SP this past week and am on day three of my latest venture. So far, so good.
I'm not sure where to start with my fitness, so if anyone wants to point me to a particular thread on the team board or make any suggestions I'd appreciate the input.
Thanks, and thanks for taking the time to 'meet' me.

I am DJ and have been on/off SparkPeople for a couple of years. This time, I am tying more into the community aspect for support. I am committed to logging my food -- regardless of what it is (lol), walking 10,000 steps per day and being active in the community. Hi everyone,
I've been on sparkpeople for years, lost and gained the same 50 pounds a bunch of times. Have PCOS for 10+ years, was diagnosed diabetic 02/2013 during the process for Gastric Bypass surgery. Had surgery 5/28/13, am off all diabetic meds completely normal numbers. Woo hoo! I'm down 79 pounds from highest, about 36 from approximate goal. Once I get closer I'll tweak my "goal" based on my health at that point.

Surgery's been a blessing to me, I've also been blessed to not have any problems with getting sick or having complications from it. I stopped aggressively losing weight about September, finally in November I said enough is enough and realized I absolutely need to track my foods to make sure I'm in the proper calorie range and getting enough protein AND I MUST START EXERCISING!

I created a facebook group for weight loss surgery patients and exercise accountability. With the help of that and those friends I've been exercising somewhat regularly and have gone down 2 pant sizes and 10 more pounds. I'm now comfortably in size 14 and look forward to shortly having to buy size 12!!! On the facebook group, we post daily challenges to keep it from getting boring, so I'll be glad to have another avenue to find challenges and keep it interesting!

Hi Everyone!

I'm Brenda and I've been on SparkPeople forever and have had some success in the past, but have been in a holding pattern recently. I started at 269 and have been going back and forth between 220 and 230 for quite some time. My goal is to move forward and lost 30 by my birthday in August.

I'm committing to at least 10 minutes of exercise every day -- if not more! And I hate to admit this, but I had to look up what Russian Twists were! Hehehe. I'll do those tonight.

Hello, I'm Fran from NE Pennsylvania. I've been a member of Sparkpeople for a while, but do not make good use of the team boards. This sounded like a good accountability page, so booya!

Yesterday, I taught myself how to add songs to my MP3 player. This may sound easy to you, but I do not have a teenager in the house and when my friend's daughter went off to college, I was stuck with the same songs she had put on there last year. emoticon It's the little things, somedays.

Today is the start of a treadmill program I followed a while ago that helped me jog in my first 5K. I have been wanting to get back to that for 3 years. I think it's a good time to start. sigh.

Tennant is my doctor. He was my first, and favorite! Can't wait to see how Peter does! But I really can't wait to see Ten and Rose back for the 50th anniversary! (Won't lie, I have a tough time decided who is my favorite companion. LOVE Donna but Rose holds a special place as well, especially as her character evolved from that shop girl in the first season of the reboot)
I am a bit of a dork when it comes to Doctor Who....I was excited to see it was Peter. The last thing I saw him in was World War Z, and he played a W.H.O.doctor...and now here he is playing Doctor Who! And right now, I'm wearing my awesome Who/Donkey Kong shirt, with 10 and Donna and the TARDIS. Darleks on every level!

That's perfectly fine Jen u take it slow u know ur own body and what it is capable of. Now that u have the Sparktracker u can join in on our daily step challenge. Our Daily/Weekly Challenge I spmailed u a copy of this weeks exercises u do what u can u don't have to follow it u can pick and choose what u want to do for the day but please do post in the thread so that I know ur being active. Just have a good time. We have lots to do and u can join in at any time u want. We have lots of caring and helpful members here on this team that will help u and cheer u on. Hello all! I'm Jen, 28 from Metro Detroit. I work full time, on the midnight shift, and go to school as well. I was hovering around my highest weight ever, almost 300 pounds. When I started SP on Halloween, I was at 296.
One of the hardest things is to get moving, so thank you Theresa for inviting me to this team! I'm going slow to start, because I know my body isn't what it was 50+ pounds ago while I was on Weight Watchers and going to the gym regularly. But I feel that I'm starting to get that work out motivation back!

My name is Dawn.
I'm both new to this group, and a week long member of SP over all.
I joined SP because I had gotten to the point where my initial attempts at weight loss had stalled and were in need of a jumpstart. I also knew I needed to add more movement to my life, and that has always been both a bane-of and challenge-to my existence.
My hope is that with the "challenge" aspect of all this will kick my inner competitor in the butt and move my actual butt around when ultimately I just don't want to.
Here's to the beginning of a healthier me, in a healthier life.

Hello! I am new to this group, I need a kick in the butt to get started, and I think I have come to the right place. Hi my name is Lisa. I have 4 kids that don't live with me. I am proud of all of them. My oldest is an airborne ranger. Have lost a total of 11 pounds since joining spark. Hi,
I'm Joan from AZ. I've been married almost 31 and have 2 college aged sons. I joined sparkpeople on July 29, 2013 needing to lose 100 pounds. I've lost 11 pounds so far and really enjoy the support and guidance this site provides. I met my goal of at least 30 minutes of daily exercise and food tracking in August and am starting to see results. I have the challenge of an 8 day vacation coming up but am optimistic that I can stay mostly on track. Hopefully, we'll do lots of walking while sight seeing.

I'm looking forward to being a part of this group!

You cannot succeed if you don't start.
