Today's Topic: Snow Days

With the weather starting to get colder, I was curious what indoor exercises you may enjoy doing. Sometimes it is difficult to get in walking and running when it is snowing or below zero cold. Are there strength training exercises you enjoy, or exercise equipment you like to use? Do you go to the gym? Or, do you have a favorite winter activity/sport?

I love diet Coke but limit myself with it. Drink water and lightly flavoured water usually, plus coffee

WATER all the way and all day - just about the only other thing I drink is hot tea and mostly only drink it at school because both my aides are also tea drinkers - I drink green and herbal fruit flavored tea mostly but occasionally regular tea.

For some of us it can be addicting or a hard habit to break if we are trying to cut down. Diet soda? Strictly water? Or, are there other healthy drinks you prefer over pop all together. Maybe you have some favorites. What is your opinion when it comes to soda?

My goal for this month is to improve my sleep. I will focus on going to bed at a regular time so I can actually get enough sleep. I find my lack of sleep negatively affects many aspects of my life and my day. This is something I have control over so its time I exercise that control.

I also plan to continue drinking water like its my job.

Over 2 weeks I have had to eat in restaurants more often than I like so I have gained 6 pounds. My goal is to loose that 6 pounds before Halloween. If I am really luck will also loose 4 more pounds to make a total of 10.

Slow but will get there!

Since I stumbled on a recipe for buttermilk dressing I am eating more veggies. I eat unsalted almonds if I need some more fats in my diet. My last snack of the day is usually a pack of peanut butter and whole grain crackers and milk.

Slow but will get there!

My go-to snack is usually fruit but when I go to the pool and my blood sugar is a bit lower than I would like for a long exercise session, I have 2 slices of whole wheat, raisin swirl bread with crunchy peanut butter. It gives me adequate carbs and protein to fuel my workout whether 2 or 4 hours. When I am going to be in the pool even longer, I eat 2 sandwiches (this summer I was spending as much as 8-9 hours some days and really needed to make sure I had enough fuel).

peanut butter - it one of the few "carb and fat" foods that I eat....I keep a jar by my desk at all times and eat one or two spoons a day. It also helps lower blood sugar

1 Flatout (i use the light original variety) + spread with hummus + top with shredded carrot and shredded cucumber, roll it up, cut in half and enjoy!
