Hello everyone, I am a night owl so still on the 18th for tracking even though its the 19th. Its 3 AM here and just had lunch. Anyway for breakfast had a 4 egg white veggie omelet with chopped green peppers, mushrooms and onions. A huge chopped turkey salad for lunch and will have turkey, brussel sprouts, broccoli and green beens for dinner. All protein snacks were both turkey with mustard. I don't have heavy weights so just lifted a heavy bin from the floor to the couch 10x lol and I do have dumbells so I used them with the Over 50's strength training video on sparkpeople and 1 other video for dumbells. Hope you are all doing well and hope to hear how your doing. Heather

I found some rice pasta so had pasta with tomato paste for breakfast and mango for the fruit. The pasta was chewy compared to what I was use to but still it was good. Turkey stew with brown rice for lunch. kiwi for fruit. A large salad tomatoes, cucumber, romaine lettuce, and mushrooms and turkey stew with rice again for dinner. A small apple and a kiwi for fruit. I walked to find the bakery but the two I know off closed down. I don't drive so will have to make a trip on the bus to get to a good bakery and health food store and or the bulk barn. Excited to make all my own salad dressings. http://view.email.crownpublishing.com/?j=f

Heather I did get your name wrong in my post emoticon so sorry. Looks like you have a good food plan going, I have not tried the spelt bread yet but plan on getting some my next shopping day. Today I had grapefruit, eggs, sausage, chicken stew with tomatoes, onion, celery, mini peppers and an apple.

Looking forward to the next 2 days of mostly protein emoticon

That's awesome!! I started yesterday and had a good day. Not craving sweets is a big one for me. I need to figure out these portions-- yesterday I had the sprouted bread with meatballs-fruits and veggies but wondering if I ate too many meatballs or fruit. I enjoy the morning smoothies with oatmeal, fruit and spinich. Not a fan of egg whites so I think Wed and Thurs will be a lot of stuff peppers, meatballs and chicken salads..

Hi Dequinta and everyone. H is for Heather my name. I started Monday and had a cup of brown rice and an apple for breakfast. Morning snack 2 kiwi's. On the weekend I cooked a turkey and bagged portions. I also made a turkey soup with carrots, celery and onions. I made bone broth also and froze it in ice cube trays to easily add to stir frys ect. The soup is pretty thick and goes nice over brown rice for grain meals. I can add can tomatoes(no sugar) on tomato days. Lunch turkey soup over brown rice and cabbage ( which also can be added to the soup). An apple for afternoon snack. For dinner, I love the soup so had it again over brown rice. I like phase 1 although suppose to eat more since I want to lose just over 40 pounds, I will have to get use to eating bigger portions. I plan on going to a bakery to find sprouted bread and hopefully steel cut oats so I don't have to eat brown rice for breakfast. For the exercise dancing arobics. A good day.

Hi Linda, Sharon, and Hawker 24. I am not following the diet exactly either. I really overdid on the weekend and am doing low carb with fruits, veggies and lean meats the first 4 days(Mon-Thurs) to detox. I will not give up coffee either but will continue to post here, maybe we can combine ideas and come up with something that works. I also like the 17 day diet plan, that might be a better choice?? I am the opposite on the cycle, days 1 & 2 are the ones I dread but I do plan on trying to follow the plan on those days next week. I have lived low carb so long it scares me to try it...maybe it will nudge my system for that reason.

Monday:
Breakfast=1 small grapefruit, 2cups coffee with 4 moo moos
Lunch=2 hb eggs, radish, celery, onion, jalapeno sald, 1 T grainy mustard
Dinner= sirloin steak, green beans, squash, tossed salad with balsalmic vinega
Bedtime snack=Schwans strawberry fruit bar
64 oz water
20 oz coke zero( I will limit myself to 1 of these a week)

GOOD LUCK on this journey!

New to this diet and will start Monday although practicing this week. I am making different lists to put on the fridge to help remember what I can eat when and how much. I have a hard time losing weight so hoping its my metabolism making dieting fail. I don't want to buy the books till I try the diet so loads of information was found googling. It will be great gaining knowledge from those that do have the book. I did stop drinking coffee although was drinking decafe so no withdrawal headaches, did that years ago. I now drink heated lemon water with ginger and garlic. The phases are different and only problem I had was eating the wrong fruit in the wrong phase ect so takes some getting use to and eating so much so many times a day. I do my exercises with sparkpeople video's or you tube. I read all the posts and thank you to everyone for posting. emoticon

Sharon, I agree.
For me Days 1 and 2 were relatively easy, I can live on carbs and fruit.
Days 3 and 4 were brutal!
I can't give up coffee. I don't want to.
Confusing, every time I ate a veggie or a fruit and then tried to log it on the app it was not available for that phase. So some fruits can be eaten on Monday but not on Saturday, ditto veggies.
People on the FB programs and I was on a few, eat stuff they hate and pour copious quantities of artificial sweeteners into their systems. I will NOT do that.
I may just invent my own rotating phases, I think the confusing you body thing may be a good thing but sadly this program is not it.

Hi, I did the best I could for the first 2 days, but fell off the program yesterday afternoon. I am finding the program very complex and confusing. This is my second attempt. I am on the Facebook page for the 2-week challenge. Though I have not participated, I have learned a lot. Some have been on the program with excellent results others not so much.

I have decided not to try and follow this plan. However, I will try to eat low carb with primarily whole grain starches, limit potatoes and corn and sugar. It will be a mix of the FMD, 17 Day and No S Diets (No S = no sugar, no snacks, no seconds except on Special days). Dequinta,, I will stay on this team and we can compare our journeys. I have the book and many of the recipes that I am glad to share.

PS. I am not giving up my coffee and dairy.

Hello! Starting the FMD on Monday, Jan 16. Sharon it sounds like you have already gotten started, maybe we can help each other along the way. I will also have to slowly wean myself off coffee, but looking forward to the rest of the diet.

Sounds like a good plan!!! Good luck.. I need to get back to FMD as I felt the eating plan was tolerable. I don't drink coffee but I love sweets (chocolate candy!). Sugar is addicting and I hope I can decrease my sweet tooth

Hello - just started FMD today after a few false starts. I hope that someone else joins me here, but if not I will record my journey.

Got up late, had steel cut oats and strawberries. I am weaning off coffee slowly so enjoying a cup with a touch of half and half. Planning the FMD shake for a snack (have to hold my nose and drink it), chicken breast, brown rice and veggies for lunch and leftovers of the same for dinner. Apples or strawberries for other snacks.

Trying to drink water. Will go out for a walk or hit the treadmill.

12/23/16 emoticon Merry Christmas to All...

I'm stopping the FMD and the reason is below.

I wanted to tell you about Dr. Berg that I just found a couple of days ago. He is a Dr, that gives you answers and the cause of what you need to know about your health. I have been looking for a Dr. like that for years.

I have Type 2 Diabetes and a Fatty Liver so I'm always looking for help with that plus staying clean of cancer (which I had 24 years ago) . I'm leaving you a link of Dr. Berg's web site so you can see if it is anything that you might also be interested in. I have decided to fellow his plan because I believe it will help me to get healthier first and lose weight.

Here is his link Let me know what you think of what he has to say. . www.drberg.com/

Well it's Monday the start of Week 6 for me and so far I've lost 7.2 lbs without much exercise.

This has been an experiment for me to see if I could lose any weight without exercise while doing the FMD.

I plan to start on Jan.9th (the day I start of my 3rd FMD Cycle) with some Phase 1 - Cardio then some Phase 2 - Strength Training and Phase 3 - Stress Reducing Activity.

That's the Plan anyway!!!

Hello - I am plotting and planning my FMD debut! I have the book and am getting good tips, recipes from several groups on Facebook...they are closed groups but you can request to be added. Check out Fast Metabolism Diet, Fast Metabolism Diet Support Group plus there is one that is for a 2 week challenge starting January 9 that is run by Haylie Pomeroy...you can get recipes, food lists, etc. to download from these groups. I am starting a notebook! I have to have things quick and easy...I am not a cook either.

What I like about these FB groups is so many different women post their weight loss - so encouraging! I tend not to participate, just gather info!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

DEQUINTA,You must like to cook. If so you should do great on FMD. I only wish I liked to cook. I just keep it all real simple by looking at the list of things I can have on whatever phase I'm on and grill, boil or steam and make salads.

I think you and Sharon are smart to start Jan. 2nd. I started about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving because I knew if I didn't start when my heart and mind was inspired to do so I may not start at all.

I have been keeping records of my weight and inches for years and I was looking at my records over the past 8 years and was not happy with my results. Every year I struggled to lose and once I did I would fall back into some old habits and leave SP then gain it all back. This time my goal or plan is to stick with it no matter how long it takes.

So this time I have decided to focus on 1 pound and one week at a time. Even if I only lose 1 lb a week or get stalled. My goal is 2 lbs a week. My biggest problem is craving Chocolate Milk. emoticon

emoticon Sharon,

I'm glad to see someone else here. The more the merrier! I started Mon. 11/14/16 and did okay though Thanksgiving, even lost 0.2 lbs.

I'm also 70 and not a big fan of cooking either. It takes time to get in a grove with any diet but you will. emoticon on deciding to do FMD.

I've been back on SP and TFMD since Nov. 14, 2016 (16 Days) and lost 6.2 lbs.
I just hope I keep losing a little at a time. So far FMD is working for me again. Another thing that is helping me is looking forward to losing 5 lbs at a time instead of my long term goal. emoticon

We had a big lunch on Sunday for all the Nov birthdays in our family and of course we will have a big day Thanksgiving. This is my first try with this plan so I am sure to need lots of help and guidance.

I actually don't use any sweeteners. No sugar, no artificial on a daily basis. Only in baked goods.
That is why it boggles my mind to see someone use 1/4 cup xylitol for a single recipe. Does not sound good to me.

Thanks Linda for posting, you're the 2nd person I've seen on here lately.

I just add the mobile app to my phone, so still learning how to use it. I can see where it would help you traveling. I found an herbal coffee with no caffeine that I like. It's called Teeccino Herbal Coffee‎ and it comes in packets too, you can get it at Amazon. No help on sweeteners except maybe try to cut them out slowly. That won't be easy for me.

I tried your link to that facebook group but, it didn't work. It's great you're trying to stick with it on the road.

Thanks for the sparkmail Bobbie

I did a week to practice, will be on the road for 4 out of the next 6 so will do a modification and go full blast next year.

I am using the app to plan meals, working pretty well. I do love my coffee so struggled really badly the week I practiced. I am also concerned about the artificial sweeteners. I have bunch of food sensitivities and have tried to follow clean eating practices for the last few years so anything sounding chemically worries me.

There is an amazing facebook group with tons of postings and help. You will need to request to join.

My copy of 'The Burn' is on its way. I'm doing fine on the standard FMD and have adopted it as my mainstay plan. It's very easy to maintain this way.

Incidentally, being new to Spark, how many active members have we doing the FMD?

I'm sure over time I will learn how to best use the site.

I've had an excellent week and want to tell the world! I did have a little cheat last night at a reunion. Turned out the lunch menu and dinner menu were one in the same. Pub food. I had a couple of crab cakes from the appy menu and selter water with lemon.

I am happy to say I don't feel even a twinge of regret. I made the best of a situation and am still going strong. I just know emoticon .

The last bit of cottage cheese and the one container of yogurt will get eaten today. There will be nothing in the house to tempt me off the plan. By tempt I mean I hate throwing food away so it would be tempting to eat it rather than do that.

Tomorrow will be emoticon

My new fitbit has arrived. More exciting than that, I became a sustaining member of PBS thanks to HP. I got an amazing kit. The newest book, cookbook, test strips, phamplets and dvds. dh will be out of town for the first cycle, if you will, so I'm going to give this another try with all these tools at hand.

For exercise I am doing the T-Tapp rehab program. Attempting to, at this point. It's a new way of doing things and it's taking me some time to get it worked out.

By the end of March I hope to see improvements and hope others will notice, too. That would encourage me to keep on keeping on.

We can do our programs with the support of each other! emoticon

Have you seen the articles out of David Ludwig's "Always Hungry"? The book comes out in January. Kind of an interesting concept; it's like Phase 3 all week, with pretty serious fats. Same commitment to watching the carbs and refined foods, keep with more natural stuff. Thoughts?

I have the book and did the Iburn and the D burn. after D burn I started getting back anxiety and got off track. Might have been due to personal, The teas and soups are strong for loosing weight and you can use them with your regular FMT Diet.

I've read a couple peoples post about struggling with phase 2, that's how I feel too! I found that if I make a soup, with onions or just some small chopped veggies, to enjoy more as a broth, it helps to keep me full if I drink it throughout the day because it is all unlimited! Maybe that'll help any of you who feel like their struggling too.

MELAMON, there are only 2 days where you cannot have carbs. Hang in there and Phase 3 will start soon. Remember no starches or fruits on Phase 3. Eat those veggies and drink plenty of water. When you feel the need for a carb, stuff a veggie in your mouth. Cucumbers are my go-to veggies, as well as carrots. But carrots are not allowed in Phase 2. If you like cabbage, steam up some chunks and indulge yourself if you get hungry.

Does anyone else have any helpful suggestions?

Here is fine with me. I am now getting daily phone messages from Haley Pomroy. Anyone else receiving them? Do you think they are helpful?

I am going into Phase 2 tomorrow. That's the one that I find the most difficult. I bought some thin steaks to saute in our new non-stick pans and also some turkey bacon. Today I am making some stuffed peppers as well. That's stuffed peppers sans the egg and breadcrumbs. Yes, it can be done.

How is everyone else doing?
