I hear ya, my friend! I have the same issue--but I've been trying to grab the bottled water in place of crunching. Some days it works and others, when I'm feeling more stressed, it's a lot harder to get that crunchy feeling off the mind!
This time of day, early evening, is the hardest time of the day for me. I want to snack on something crunchy in the worst way and it is not an apple or a carrot that I am craving. . I am trying to stay more active in the evening so I do not have such strong urges to sit and snack.
