QOTD I stepped out of my comfort zone when our DS, DD & I went on the Amtrak train from Kenosha to Chicago and than went up the Sears tower and went out on the Sky Deck Ledge so high up. It was a wonderful experience for all of us... That sounds like such a nice trip to take on the Amtrak too from Chicago to Detroit. I have a brother that lives in Detroit.

Hi Roz and congrats on that great health report!!! Keep it up gal!!! So far nothing is going on here weather wise, thinking the NE states are going to get hit hard!

Bern - good for you on conquering that fear! Funny how some things can just really be difficult for us, isn't it?

LOL on the polyester coming back and hitting the dance floor - oh, those were the good old days!!! :-) I used to dance the whole night while DH played in the band - now I do well to get one or two in if we happen to go out to hear music.

QOTD: Has there been a time when you've really stepped out of your "comfort zone" to try something you never thought you would? ~ This is just a silly phobia. I used to make every effort to avoid a exit off the downtown loop in a city where I used to work. This particular exit was elevated and I have a height phobia. I'd guesstimate it was about 60 feet off the bluff down to the joiner. The artery it was joining was also elevated about 40 feet. So the first time over I took it at about 20 mph. Zero traffic so I wasn't an accident in waiting. By the end of the week I was able to not think about it and just drive like a normal American, distracted.

Annie, glad you had a successful date night. Ain't that the truth about used to be's! Well do I remember when I was a foolish young man, (I do believe that's the only size they come in), 2am you were just getting your second wind and getting ready to show the club your best moves on the dance floor. Ah the days when polyester was king. I still have my lucky leisure suit in the dreams of yesteryear end of the closet. It will come back, I know it! Just not too soon cause it won't fit yet.

Happy Australia Day Ania! I live about 200 miles north of Miami. I keep planning a trip to Key West over and over and over. Have got to bring a book and some sun screen and spend a day out at the Dry Tortugas this time around. This is the time of year to pull that kind of trip off.

Well, I'm still alive, so there's thatÖ..

Hope the forecasted storm does nor affect many of you. We've been having some rainfall but it is always warm anyway.

I actually went walking and sea bathing last Thursday.Just let the waves engulf me it was really refreshing!
Last week had been hectic though.Monday I had a dental appointment got to go back in 2 week's time for further treatment..
Baby sat on Monday & Tuesday returned home Wednesday.
Went to the hospital for my routine health check on Friday and all my findings were within normal limits. The doctor actually complimented me and told me to continue doing what I'm doing. He then gave me a 6 month appointment to be seen again. We do have free health care here so all this is free..
I have so much to be thankful for! This alone encourages me to want to keep up with my regime.
Stay Blessed everyone!
Roz.

Peggy I work for Avis/Budget Group at the Bangor International Airport. I move the dirty cars that customers have returned to our garage area and jump into a clean car and move it to the area where it will be rented. I really do love my job. Often I have to walk from either the garage or the lot to pick up cars from one place or the other. I can easily get my 10,000 steps a day and in the summer when we're busy, I can get 20-25,00 steps a day. That's about it in a nutshell.

Loving the answers to QOTD!

Jim, way to go learning to do something like that and then not being afraid to talk about it!!

Annie, that had to be really difficult for you if you don't like heights! WOW!

Terry, I saw that possible storm on the news - hope it's not that bad for you! So far we've had nothing but flurries here, not sure if it's worse south of us or not. I was 71 when I flew the first time and went from Cleveland to Vegas. I even had the window seat! Was sooooo nervous about it, but once we were in the air I found I really liked it - even with some turbulence over the Rockies! My DH doesn't like the idea of a cruise - he's not fond of a lot of water. Well, not sure I would either, but I'll use him as an excuse. LOL Before my daughter and SIL took us to Vegas, we had talked about taking an Amtrak trip West so I wouldn't have to fly!

Peggy, I held a snake a time or two. Was so surprised how dry their skin is!

QOTD: The biggest time I stepped way out of my comfort zone was to fly from N.H. to Chicago's Midway airport. It was the only time I have flown (other than to come home). Sorry, but I did not like it. We took several Boy Scouts to an event at Michigan State University. We to the Amtrak from Chicago to Detroit and that I loved!

We have talked about going to Alaska on a cruise, so if we decide to, I'll have to do it again emoticon .

Preparing for what they say is going to be a blockbuster of a storm here late tomorrow night into Wednesday. Some reports are giving us up to 3 feet of snow. Not really looking forward to it, as I work outside. But I do dress for it, so I will be prepared. My husband is very excited for it because he snowmobiles. As a matter of fact he's about 1-2 hours north of here today snowmobiling with a friend.

Everyone have a great rest of the day.

I went up into Tokoyo Towers,,I had to not look down as we were going UP and when we got UP there, I had to hold onto walls,(they have those see through floors in parts of it ) but when I told my family when I got back home from Japan,, the kids went WAY TO GO MOM !! you did it..!!

headed to Church,, today is our pastors last day,, we love him/his wife/his kids, but he has felt called to a Church in Or. so SAD.. so I want to be to Church early as I am sure the place will be packed, to say the least...

Qotd. My wife is a knitter, loomer, crocher person and some time ago
I asked her to show me her looms. Now I make my own slipper socks, hats, beanies, scarves, and hot pads. Stepped out of my comfort zone by letting my co-workers at my previous job know I was doing it.

Never quit dreaming.

Good Morning Friends!!!

Well, so far the weather hasn't done anything here either. Andrea and Aiyden went into town to her Mom's last night in case it got bad overnight - they were calling for freezing rain overnight. She had to be at work at 8 and figured it better to be in there. "Could" get up to six inches of snow during the day today - but for some reason it seems when they warn us about it, it never seems to happen. Which is fine with me! Anyhow, she'll stay in town tonight since she has to work at 4 AM tomorrow, so it's a quiet day here.

Trudy, your fingers must have been flying on that afghan! I got my yarn out last night thinking I'd make a sweater/hat to match the afghan I just finished, but I got sleepy and didn't. Maybe today.

Peggy, I'm with you - my very favorite candy is chocolate covered caramels!!

QOTD: Has there been a time when you've really stepped out of your "comfort zone" to try something you never thought you would?

Two things come to mind for me - taking my first air flight a few years ago and handling a tarantula at the Memphis Zoo!

Good morning everyone,
We have drizzle this morning. I hope it doesn't freeze. But, it's not cold enough right now.
I have a couple of friends coming over this afternoon to plan our trip to FL.
Annie, you date sounds just like my husband and me back in the day. He always liked going out early and getting home early. Once when I wanted to go out later....like actually at dinner time!! LOL!! We had to wait for over an hour...lesson learned. We went early from then on!!! emoticon
I got a really good start on the baby afghan!! I hope I can finish it by tomorrow and get it into the mail. Maybe it'll beat the baby home!!
My sister went and got some premie outfits yesterday. Since they weren't expecting the baby so soon. They didn't have any little, little clothes....now he does.
I hope you all have a good day!

Good evening friends!

QOTD: What was your favourite cartoon growing up???

Didn't grow up with cartoons, didn't have TV until late into my teens.

Peggy - do you own shares in Bagel King? If not, you should. At least you should be getting a hefty discount every time you and your friends go there emoticon
It's great that you helping on your friend's genealogy, seeing as you are an expert now!

Trudy - please wish your sister emoticon from your Aussie friend Ania. Soon you'll be competing with Joyce and Peggy on baby shell afghans. Enjoy your holiday in Florida!

Bern - I know what you mean. Last year in April we flew from Melbourne to Miami and from home to the hotel it took about 33 hours, with changing planes and waiting for various flights. Luckily, my derriere is a bit smaller than yours but nevertheless we flew business because of the distance. Do you live anywhere near Miami?
Three years before we met Trudy and Joyce and a few other Spark Friends in Chicago and Las Vegas! That was a really fun trip for us!!!

Annie - glad you enjoyed your "date" afternoon and I feel the same way about movies that have sooo many 4 letter words. emoticon I saw a great movie last week "The Imitation Game" with Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley. Well worth seeing on your next "date" afternoon outing emoticon

QOTD: What's your favourite flavour of jelly bean??
Don't really buy any, lol.

Terry - I hope the coming snow storm isn't too severe for you. Here's some of our emoticon to warm you up.

Joyce - hope Andy's bloodwork will even itself out when he gets tested next. I well remember when my father had to change his doses of warfarin every so often.

I heard Marek going upstairs so it's time for me to do the same. emoticon

I'm with you Bern, the green are my least favorite! LOL

Trudy, I'd say you'd better get busy! I have one afghan done ahead, but that's it.

That made me laugh about your date night Annie. Pretty much the same here. DH used to play in a band at the bars, so he played 10-2, and we didn't get home till 3 usually. Now we're ready to call it a night about the time we'd have been leaving back in the day. Glad you liked the movie!

OK Peggy, I give up.....hmmm, do you like the red or black licorice ropes??? LOL

QOTD: What's your favorite flavor of jelly bean??
I LOVE the black ones..

Terry:
I also love the licorice ones too, I bought some licorice tea,, it isn't quite as good as the jelly beans..LOL.. but with trying to loose some weight it works for me to give the "taste" . have you tried the licorice tea?

Merri:
when I told DH it was a "date" he goes,, OH NO I have to shower and shave..LOL
I hope Ken's eye surgery did make his eyes better to see at night..
on our "date" we went to the 4:15pm movie,, and ate dinner at 6:30pm and home by 7:30 pm..
those times were some different than when we REALLY dated over 45 yrs ago.. the 7:30pm was the START time, not the ENDING time.. emoticon

Joyce:
the movie was intense,, the only thing is I don't like the 4 letter word used,, and it was used quite a bit,, but the acting/story was excellent... and at the end.. (very end ) the real part of Kyle's life they showed his funeral,, you could have heard a pin drop in the theater. won't do a "spoiler allert".. but I went out crying.. well , actually DH had to have some tissues too.. not sure if the movie reminded him of Viet Nam.. ?

Have a safe weekend all those that are getting snow!

QOTD: I love the black jelly beans. Two stories. When I worked at Walgreens they got bags of black jelly beans at Halloween. Another woman liked them too, when they went on sale after halloween she'd buy them all up!! A friend at another job always got a pkg. of chuckles for an afternoon snack and he always gave me the black one!!
Beautiful day here. Sunny and 46. Just the calm before the "possible" icy storm we're suppose to get tonight into tomorrow.
I heard yesterday that the movie "Boyhood" is on netflix for any of us who didn't see it at the theater and wanted to. I may watch that tomorrow while I crochet!! Now that one of the babies as come, I really need to get on it!!
Everyone have a nice day!

Ania, love the January heat idea of Oz but I'm sure the folks out in Marble Bar would like it a bit cooler.

Trudy you will love the nice change Florida offers as you escape the cold. And you will beat all the spring breakers who come in March.

Merri, Ken's stew sounds delish, nice having a guy who knows his way around the kitchen.

Terry/Barb, you guys way up in Maine just catch it both ways. Sturdier stock than what I'm made from.

QOTD: What's your favorite flavor of jelly bean?? The red ones always disappear first followed by the orange. Last to go are the green ones and they go slow.

Good morning all.

Yesterdays QOTD: I don't remember watching cartoons as a child. I remember Lassie and Bonanza.

Today's QOTD: My favorite jellybean would be the black ones. Love licorice.

Preparing for a snow storm from the south today. Had a coating from the north last night.

Everyone who is in the path of the storm stay safe and have a great day.

Good Morning All....

Jim, sounds like you better find your energy with that "to do" list. LOL I liked Roadrunner, too!

Merri, that's wonderful that Ken has had such success with the cataract surgery! My hubby is much the same with seasoning, but at least I did convert him to Mrs. Dash's table blend rather than salt.

How was the date night Annie? Did you like the movie??

Trudy, FL in February is a wonderful idea! Maybe you can meet Peggy! Been a long time since we've been there. HOPING next year we'll get there again. Congrats on the great nephew!!! Enjoy lunch with your sister!

QOTD: What's your favorite flavor of jelly bean??

Annie, I just love your idea of your date night. I do that to my DH at times too...Even if it just to go to the bank and than onto eat someplace later. It will be interesting now to see if Ken can see at night after he has both of his cataract surgeries done. His right eye is getting better and better each day...Such good success!!!

We have a nice day ahead of us here. Than the snow will come tomorrow. It is 29 here at 7:30 am...

Not much going on here today. We will see if Mr Ken thinks he can drive yet. We did go for our walk yesterday and stopped at the Dollar store and got a card for our SIL and than stopped at the food store right there too and got some bananas. So, we really don't need to take the van out at all yet...

Ken made this roast in the slower cooker yesterday with potatoes and carrots. When it was all done, I thought it was better to call it Mr Ken's yummy stew LOL...Very good, but of course a little salty. He is still in the learning "mode" yet I guess.

Good morning!! We finally have some sunshine. We didn't have much during the week.
One of my little great nephews (due March 2), came last night. He's a little guy. 4 lb. 12 oz.
I haven't heard how long he'll have to stay in the hospital but, he is healthy. His mom was having problems so the decision was to do a c section last night,
I'm having lunch with my sister today for her birthday which was on Thursday. It's her grandson who was born last night.
I made plans, yesterday, to go to FL for a week in Feb. I've never been to FL so, I'm really looking forward to it. I'm going with two women from the Y.
Not much else going on here. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend. Those in the east I hope you don't get dumped on too bad with the winter storm. We may get some snow tomorrow.

Good morning all!

I just finished my Week 4 Day 5 of the January Jumpstart Fitness Challenge and before having a shower I thought I'll post this.

We've had a lovely emoticon yesterday here but in Marble Bar, W. Australia they had the highest temp ever recorded 48.9 deg C =120.02 F!!! emoticon Apparently, there are just about 100 people living there.
Hope that makes you all feel warmer now!

QOTD: What was your favorite cartoon growing up???

like Merri I also loved Mickey Mouse.. we were not allowed to watch to much TV,, but Mickey was a family fav.

I told DH we were going on a "date" tonight.. going to see American Sniper, then to dinner.. He isn't as excited to go on this "date",, but once I get him off the sofa,, and drive him there, I am sure he will enjoy the evening.

Johnny Quest!

A good Friday to one and all! Good to see someone from Oz on the thread, would love to come visit if it weren't for my 24" butt riding for hours on end in a 17.5" seat with limited leg room.

Nothing in ink on the calendar for this weekend. Just have to stay in control and carry through with my food plan. Nothing tastes as good as being in control feels.

Hi all.....

Ania, it's GREAT to have you posting again - you've been missed! Haven't heard "chin wagging" in ages - sure put a smile on my face. So sorry to hear of Marek's test results - will pray for him that it SLOWS down and that chemo will do its job! I hadn't heard about that man shooting his wife accidentally, but WOW on it actually being a blessing. You're right - guns are just too easy to come by here and daily we see the results of it!

Andy had the call on his blood thinner bloodwork yesterday and he has to increase the dose just two days a week and go back for testing in two weeks. Up until now he's been steady at the same dosage.

Trudy, how far is the Y from you? I'm so happy you found that outlet and it's been so good for you! Trudy, I'll PM a baby shell afghan pattern that is really easy and quick.

Hi Gwyn - is your cold any better??

Terry, that sounds like a pleasant way to spend a day, a drive in SUNSHINE. Seems forever since we've seen any. DH is taking our car to get the front brakes done today. His son was going to come and help him do them but hasn't shown up so we'll just go pay to have them done.

Peggy, I didn't know you were helping a friend with genealogy, too. You're pretty much an expert anymore I think! I think I have cousins on all sides of my family who have worked on the family tree. On my mother's side, my cousin said he ran into a road block trying to connect one "aunt" to the family - thinks perhaps she really wasn't a blood sister to Mom, but no one left to ask anymore. :-(

Good morning,
Thanks for the kind words. I love the Y. I'm so glad I joined it. It's really been my life line since my husbands death.
Ania, I'm so sorry to hear about Marek's health problems. I wish him well during chemo.
So glad your knee is better. I also, agree with you that guns shouldn't be so easy to come by.
I'm off to the Y this morning for water aerobics and this afternoon I'll go back for strength.
In between I need to clean the house. Then I can play all weekend!! I'm taking my sister to lunch tomorrow for her birthday. i have two big 1 lb. skeins of yarn to make two baby blankets. I just can't find a pattern I like. Joyce/Peggy, do either of you have a quick one you could share?
Everyone have a great day!!

QOTD favorite form of relaxation knitting or maybe crocheting or possibly reading. Guess I'm relaxed all of the time.

We're off to Bagel King early today and then I have a board meeting at the woman's club.

I'll be working on my friend's genealogy this weekend. It's always fun to find new people even if they're not in my family tree.

QOTD: For me it's reading, and even better sitting on the front porch reading.

DH and I are headed to Freeport, ME today. Our DD's vehicle broke down and her dad fixed it for her so we're taking it back to her this morning. She works at Patagonia. It's about a 1 1/2 hour ride south of here. It's going to be a sunny day, so it'll be a pleasant ride.

Not familiar with names as yet, but congrats on winning the chili cook-off. It must be delicious.

Good afternoon all!

It's a lovely emoticon day and the plumber just left after swapping our old toilet suite for a new one. It's the one downstairs and it was very inconvenient for a long time having to traipse upstairs every time, lol. He even came on time and left the bathroom clean!

Joyce - have you heard about this?

An Ohio man who accidentally shot his wife in the neck may have saved her life. Boyd Ross, 77, told police a shotgun went off when he checked to see if it was loaded. It fired birdshot through a wall and into the chair where his wife was sitting. At hospital doctors found she was suffering from undiagnosed arrhythmia, or irregular heartbeat.

I have gone back to Violet Virtuosos. It's a very friendly team of about 20 girls. I believe I am most senior there or perhaps there's another one in her 70's.
Enjoy your tangelos.

We are hearing here of so many people over in US being fatally shot by guns. Just yesterday I read in our newspaper that a 3 or 5 year old was playing with grandpa's gun and killed his infant sister emoticon
You might be aware that guns are ILLEGAL in Australia and if someone wants a licence they have to really go through the hoops to get it. Of course, criminals use them, mostly on each other, or in holdups, but you would not have a child rummaging through his mother's purse and pull a loaded gun and kill her.
I believe it's much safer for our community not to have guns. IMHO.

Thank you girls for the lovely welcome back. I plan to stay online for the next 5 weeks emoticon
A few years back my DH was diagnosed with CLL which is a slow growing cancer-leukaemia and we figured it might not come up until his 80's or later. Well...he used to have a blood test every 6 months and the last one, just before Christmas, after our last cruise, showed that his white blood cells have skyrocketed! CT scan showed many nodes on his lymph and his spleen is enlarged, so after Easter he will start chemo.
We have planned this next emoticon and tour in September so we are GOING!

Trudy - it's 2 months since my op and my left knee is behaving itself, most of the time. I go to gym twice a week and yesterday could do a quad stretch at the end of the session without pain! Congrats on your chilli cook off emoticon Your Y is really looking after it's members well.

Merri - great news about Ken's eye surgery!

QOTD: What's your favourite form of relaxation??

Reading or chin wagging emoticon Ask Peggy for explanation!

Steph - have a great holiday! emoticon

Annie - our Weekend Challenge is completely different. We have Bingo Card this weekend.

CONGRATS on the chili cookoff Trudy!!! You must make some mighty fine chili! Any "secret" ingredients???

Annie, too funny on another VietNam buddy here in the "real" Ohio! LOL Neat that he'll be visiting! THANKS for posting the challenge!!!! All things we need to work on for sure and it helps to see it in writing!

Grey, yucky day here today. Had some light snow, nothing major. Just need some sunshine! Did get a box of sunshine from FedEx - my former supt. and his wife had sent us a box of honeybell tangelos for a Christmas gift and they were delivered today! YUM!

Hi all,
Well, I'm back from the chili cook off. 15 crock pots of chili were judged.....I won again!!
I was so shocked!! What fun it was. Lots of good chili and desserts, queso dip, cheese, crackers. The Y is good about letting us do things. They even provide the plates, bowls, napkins, tableware and bottled water!! Really a great place. They have a community room and the CEO is one of the judges and he said today that he's really happy that we're using that room. That was the intention all along!
QOTD: I love sitting on my deck, listening to music and reading a book....unless I have friends over!!
Everyone have a good night.

Hello all.....

WELCOME BACK ANIA!! So happy to see you here again. You were sure a busy gal traveling last year - was keeping up with you on Facebook. Which BLC team are you on? I took this round off.

Trudy, it sounds like your Y really does some fun things!

Merri, that's awesome news with Ken's vision!!

Gwyn, I am so sorry things are rough right now......sure will hope you feel better fast and something just right opens up for you in the work market.

Not much going on here today....at least it's not snowing. One of my GD's friends was in a nasty accident yesterday morning. A car slid broadside in front of the car he was riding in with his Mom. Those roads were horrible! Luckily he'll be OK and his mother wasn't hurt. Whew!

QOTD: What's your favorite form of relaxation??

Good morning,
Ania!! Welcome back!! It sounds like you had a fantastic travel year in 2014!! I hope the ACL is better now!!
Gwyn, it's hard not to be discouraged when you're going through a rough patch. One thing that may help, after you get over the cold, is to concentrate on taking care of yourself. You'll, maybe, feel better emotionally!! Hang in there. We're all here to help you.
Merri, so glad Ken can see so MUCH better after only a day!! He's probably looking forward to the Feb. 10 surgery now!!
Oh, Peggy, so sorry to hear about the foot outcome. I'll bet if you look at the Spark people web site you'll find some good alternatives for fitness that can be used in place of walking.
Considering there are a lot of people who can't walk for one reason or another. I just hope you find something you enjoy. I know you'll miss the walking
Today is the chili cook off at the Y. We have 13 people entering. It's a fun time. Just something extra we do at the Y. In Feb. we're going to have a chocolate extravaganza!!
We're going to try to get people to fix something with chocolate that isn't necessarily a dessert!! I found a recipe that uses that Mexican chocolate. It's a stew type dish. Should be fun. I love that our Y encourages members to use the facility for all kinds of fun things.
Cloudy here but, 35 so not too bad. Luckily we haven't gotten any of the storm going across the southern part of the country!! What a mess there.
Everyone have a great day!

Joyce, Thanks for asking about Ken's eye. The dr took the patch off yesterday and it really surprised us that she was going to actually check his vision that soon after his surgery. The very NEXT day!!!! His vision is already 20/25 without glasses!!!! Wow, the next one will be done on Feb 10th.....She said he can start driving again tomorrow....I am thinking he is getting tired of me saying over and over DON'T BEND LOL

Kathy, Do you think you would like to use one of these gliders that they have out there? I see two of my friends are using them from one of the other sites on here....

Good evening all!

Happy New Year to all my friends! emoticon
I know I've been MIA for some time but it's a new year so I am back.

I joined BLC 27 and in the first week I gained 0.4 emoticon I know why, because I've been celebrating my birthday a few times this week and plan to do better by next Wednesday.

This past year we've taken 3 cruises with Holland America Lines. First one was Ft Lauderdale to Seattle via Panama Canal. The next one was Norway from Rotterdam, Holland return and the third one was a 'recovery' cruise because a month earlier in October I fell and tore my ACL, stepping out of the laundry. They do say most accidents happen at home, lol.
This one was from Sydney to Singapore. 16 days of sun and relaxation along the Great Barrier Reef and stopping in Indonesia, 3 ports Bali, Komodo Island and Java and then 2 days in Singapore before flying home on 10th December.
Had a nice Christmas at our daughter's and spent New Year's Eve with DH's sister and her friend. Being January, you know it's hot here in Melbourne, especially during Australian Open. I am sorry for all those tennis players today, it was 35 deg C=95F. Tomorrow should be a bit cooler.

I am off to read the posts.

Peggy, so sorry that you can't have the surgery you were hoping for! That's really a bummer. I so hear you on not wanting to give up the walking! But maybe if you just cut it back a bit it will help.

Barb, I don't really have a bucket list either. I've pretty much done all I wanted to do. Two things I really wanted to do was find my DH's two granddaughters that he hadn't seen since they were 4 and 5 and I accomplished that. Found them in TN which is our favorite place to visit so we see them when we go there. The other was that he really wanted to see the Grand Canyon and we accompilshed that as well, along with my first ever flight. So anything beyond that is bonus, as I see it. emoticon

I went to the Drs. today and he said that he can't operate on my foot because I have arthritis in almost every joint in my foot and there are lots of joints. He gave me a cortisone shot and said I should get one every 4 months.

When he heard that I walk a mile M-F he said that was the worst thing for my foot. He said my foot would feel better if I didn't walk.
after I got home and thought it over I'm just going to keep on walking. If I stop my walk the rest of me would start to feel bad.

He said I should ride the bike, which I already do 3 times a week. So we are going to give up a couple of days of walking and ride the bike more.

guess I should start with yesterdays Qotd, my tooth brush is always blue! Like Merri it is an electric one, and I love it, I have been using the electric ones for about 10 years now.

Today's Qotd, hard to tell, I don't really have a bucket list, there are things I would like to do but will probably never do like to go New Zealand and Australia, or Italy where there are still some of my fathers people, some of my mothers people are still in Germany. I have always wanted to do the Appalachian trail, I have done a lot of it in Maine, but it is different doing it alone as a woman, We used to do a lot of backpacking, and made all our own food, I guess the farm is taking precedence now!

You must be excited Steph, it is nice to be going when your brother is there too, what a great time you will have. My neighbor just left for Hawaii last week, he went because it is the only state he has never been to, and is staying for 2 weeks.

Jim, I am guessing when I am almost 90 I will be like that too, come to think of it some times it takes me forever to get set up to do something! I know Dad is not handy, my mother always expected him to do stuff like that, but it just is not him, I am glad that he accepts my help to get that stuff done.

Trudy, do you enter the Chili cookoff? sounds like a fun time!

Joyce, you must feel relieved that Brenda has been given the all clear!

Guess I am going to get something to eat, running late today!

Hi everyone!!
Steph!! Wow!! Just a week! You'll have fun getting ready and being there!! Soak up the vitamin D while you're there. Are you planning to snorkel or para-sail or anything like that? I think all of that would be fun and a Hawaiian Luau also!! I'll live vicariously through you on this trip!! I doubt I'll ever get there!!
I went to the two classes, strength and water aerobics this afternoon. I'm glad to be home!!
Joyce, I'm so glad you're home safe and that Brenda had a good report from the Dr. She's surely feeling better if her gallbladder was in such a state!!
Tomorrow is the chili cookoff at the Y.
Everyone have a great evening!!
