Hi all.....

Peggy and Merri - sounds like you both have good days ahead of you!

It's beautiful here today, blue skies and sunshine, although only in the 40's. Might hit 50, tomorrow a high of 48 and then finally warming up a bit.

We have Aiyden today, so not much else going on.

QOTD: I love dark chocolate, don't care so much for milk chocolate.

Do you prefer dark chocolate or milk chocolate?

Ken & I only like dark chocolate and we have one small piece most days after our lunch...

The sun is out here this morning and we have a heat wave of 37 LOL..It is suppose to get warmer each day for a week and maybe more now....

Not much going on here today. Ken is going to grill us a hamburger today...Than we might go down to the lake and see how many boats get put into the water this afternoon....

Good morning everyone! I'm just waiting for Jerry to be ready to leave for Church.

After lunch we will be heading down to the Yacht Club. The Flower and Garden show is supposed to be the best this year. Jerry usually works at it with the Master Gardeners but that was the weekend we went up for Bob's funeral.

Peggy, enjoy your time at Epcot!

We had a good time at the winery tonight. Brian was totally surprised that it was actually his birthday party. He thought he was just coming to hear Randall perform his acoustic solo debut - which by the way was excellent. Had a great turnout and it's always fun when it's really a surprise. His birthday isn't till May 5th, so it was the farthest thing from his mind. LOL

Good Saturday all! Got Jason my air conditioner guy scheduled for Wednesday, and probably not a moment too soon. High today will be 86 with 74 for the low. Just have my fingers crossed he can convince Harriet to go for another year without replacement.

Walked Georgiana yesterday looking for the Hainlin father/daughter. No luck. He went in 1899 and daughter 1930. Found 6 stones there completely illegible which could have been and sent report back to descendant asking for the walk through. Few were immune to struggles of the depression. Head stones probably way down the list of priorities back then.

Do you watch any of the TV judge shows?
I have an overall abhorrence to daytime TV, so NO. Reminds me of when my dad was still living he would corral everyone and make them sit down and watch Judge Wapner, if you happened to be over for a visit. But when the night comes, different story. It's a guarantee I've got my head in the tube watching something. Food and TeeVee my drugs of choice and sadly often times together.

Well, I'm still alive, so there's that…..

Good Morning!!!

Bonnie, glad you enjoyed the Zumba class. I've never tried it. I understand there's a Silver Sneakers program in town where we're moving to, might look into that.

Jo Ann, glad you're getting that rain, I know it's not something you see much of! We lucked out and it didn't get as cold as they thought overnight, so the lilacs are safe! Whew! My friend in Oracle has a lilac bush she bought at a nursery there, she's had it a few years and it's doing well.

Merri, glad your son is home safely, I can imagine how nervous you are when he makes those long trips.

QOTD: We also watch Judge Judy, but not on a regular basis. Have always said I'd not want to be in HER courtroom. LOL

We like to watch Judge Judy and sometimes Judge Mathis too. It all depends when we are tired enough to just sit down that long...

It is has rained here since around 3 Pm yesterday. A nice slow rain, but enough to keep a person from enjoying our walk outside..

Our son Rick is now safely in Vegas. He sounded really good on the phone. Not as tired as the last time. We just have to remember that he is 9 1/2 hrs a head of us....

Joyce, I do think our son has to come back on US land about every three months for his visa...He was home last June for our DGD wedding, again in Oct, than for Christmas and once again now. He was suppose to come home earlier this month, but so much work had to get done first there. He is "head" man, so it is up to him to make sure all things are in order before he can leave....

Really enjoying cool temps along with off and on again rain…told Bruce to remind me how much I am enjoying the weather today when we’re slogging though 110° days!

Bonnie - So…what did you think? Did you enjoy Zumba. When I started I mostly hopped around in the back not being familiar with most of the steps, but I sure did enjoy the music!

Afternoon All;

QOTD: I prefer to exercise in the morning....but I usually end up doing it in the evening when I have more time. Weekends (if I'm not being lazy) I do a morning exercise. During the week I get up @ 4:30 for work - there's no way I can fit exercise in. Today I have off - so I was at the gym bright and early.

Well thanks Joyce ..... you sent that snow my way!! Last night about 5:30 it snowed so hard you had trouble seeing the road! It didn't stick, but it was a strange sight. Was back to freezing last night and today it's only in the low 40's.

Yes, me too Annie, I was wondering if Bonnie could still be counted among the living as well. I like the concept of ZUMBA, it's just doing it that puts the kibosh on the whole idea.

QOTD: Do you prefer to exercise in the AM or PM?
I would love to hit the floor running - get the housework done and the shutters painted before 9 - but most mornings I'm not verbal until about an hour after I groan out of bed. About the same time the blood cycles over to coffee. So eventually, as I take parts inventory and make sure everything is still where I left it and in relative working order, the day builds to exercise in the afternoon.

Today, hat and sunscreen (82ŗ here today) as I walk Georgiana Cemetery, looking for Ed and Mary Hainlin, there since 1930 but no marker of record. That's my job today, check the illegible stones to see if one of those could be theirs. Armed with their alphabet I may be able to cipher one.

Well, I'm still alive, so there's that…..

I always exercise in the AM as I would never have enough energy to try and do it later in the day LOL..

The sun is out here once again today. It is only 34, but I'll take it..Do I really have a choice? LOL...

Our DS should almost be in Vegas now from coming from Afghanistan once again. He is going to have to quit doing this pretty soon. Every trip takes a few more years off of our lives.....

We're off to Bagel King early today and then I have a Board (bored) meeting.

Jerry is playing at the opening of a DAR convention dinner at 5 in downtown Orlando.

I'm going with him to keep him company and I get to knit out in the lobby. A couple of the other wives go and we have a gab fest.

QOTD - There are times we go together, and times we don’t. When we do go together, he is an awesome walking list…we’ll walk down the aisle and he’ll ask if we need such ’n such or so ’n so…and sometimes we do and didn’t get on my list!

Still enjoying cooler walking weather…even a slight chance of rain, and of course they are predicting the 100’s it is inevitable. Lots ’n lots of snowbirds have left, less traffic, less people at grocery stores and we went to the club house for Wing Wed. and there was no waiting. Soon it will be very quiet here in the retirement community.

Annie - It is sad, but your DH did exactly what he needed to do to protect himself.

Joyce - We heard from NY and western PA that they had snow that was sticking…uck! That will work nicely for your former AFS daughter.

Lizzie - I keep forgetting that we have a Trader’s Joe not to far from us, I always end up at Sprouts which is about a mile away.

Peggy - emoticon on losing 1.6 lbs. Oh, we haven’t had sausage and peppers in awhile…hmmmm…
I just wish we could decent Italian sausage…no Italian deli’s close by.

Bonnie - Good to see you! I go to a Zumba class that is held here in the retirement community…have you gone to one before?

Steph, those pictures are beautiful! I could live there the whole season but I think the park rangers would take issue with that idea.

Question of the day: Shopping at the grocery. I go it alone, which is good if I make a list and stick to it. If I slow down and casually walk the aisles I start to hear odd logic in my ear, like you could get that and just eat the recommended portion and then you would have it all week long. But I know me. If I were a drug addict I'd be long gone long long ago. But food is a elephant of a different color. So make a list and stick to it is my recommendation.

Rain here today. I could put my speedo on and do a little gardening but the neighbors complain.

Well, I'm still alive, so there's that…..

Morning All!

DH is in a nursing home so I go shopping alone and have done so for several years. He used to stop occasionally years ago if I asked him to but he brought home way too much junk (I never said anything because he ate it all, not me).

I love Trader Joe's Natural Unsalted Peanut Butter. It tastes like chopped peanuts.

It is 40 this morning but a freeze is expected tonight. No snow though.

Morning All;

It was chilly this morning - 39, but at least we didn't have snow! Joyce - please don't send that snow our way!

QOTD: Yes, my guy always goes with me to the store. He does his shopping at the same time too, although since he eats dinner with me nearly every night his order is much smaller! I was so used to going by myself at first it annoyed me, but now I enjoy sharing it with him and I miss him the few times he's not there. Funny how things change -- huh?

QOTD Jerry goes with me all the time. If I stop in for something by myself the workers always ask "where's your husband".?

Good morning everyone.

I got up at 6:15 instead of 6:40 so I rode the bike early.

Jerry is taking the car in early but it is a recall.

I have to go to the library afterwards and pick up another James Patterson book, the 12th of Never.

First I am stopping at Lauratta's for a cup of tea.

Good Morning!!

35 and snow on the ground this morning! Good grief! And it's still snowing! The neighboring county has its Maple Festival this weekend. It used to be earlier in the month, but they made it later to try for better weather. We said they could have it in JULY and I swear it would snow!

Happy Birthday to your Dad Barb! That's awesome you still have him with you. Like Merri, my Dad was only 56 and my Mom was 55 when I lost them. :-(

QOTD: Hubby does go grocery shopping with me, but he'll usually sit in the car and read the paper while I shop. He'll come in and go to the prescription counter for me to save time and sometimes look for something in another department he might want or need. If he does the actual "grocery" part with me - you never know what I'll find in the cart at checkout. LOL

Does your hubby go to the grocery store with you?

Bern, do you have anyone to go with you too to the grocery store?

It is really cold here this morning. We are at 32!! I guess we went from spring to fall within ten days....They are saying rain for Sat. Oh sure, we go to church on Sat nights...

I think it is a good day for goulash. Ken loves to make that anyway....

Barb, Happy 89th birthday to your dad!! My dad only lived to be 53....

QOTD we always said soda, when we went to my grandmothers they would ask us if we wanted pop and we didn't know what it was lol

Nice pictures Steph!

I know what you mean about less time from now on Terry, I mostly get on here when I am working and it isn't busy at night, that wouldn't happen if I worked days. As soon as the rest of this snow and water goes away it will be fencing time, gardening time and all that!

My dad had his 89th birthday tonight, I made Tiramisu cake, haven't made that for at least a year!

Terry, I've forgotten where you work? Is it the car rental place? We're renting a van for our TN trip next month since ours died. :-( Took it to the guy today. He has another one at the lot like ours that needs parts, so he will take the parts from ours and junk the body. Makes me sad. Please do check in as much as you can - we'll miss you!

Went to my daughter's tonight for a jewelry party Andrea was having there. Guess Andrea's apt. could be ready mid-May! She said it'll be inconvenient if she moves there and we're still here. Ours should be ready then too, but I told Brenda I don't want to take over the apt till June 1. She said the manager would probably let us start moving things there, but not officially "move in" till June 1 and I told Andrea she could probably do the same. Her worry was if she's there, she has to get Aiyden up and bring him here to us and then go back into town for work. Maybe she could take him to Brenda and she could drop him off here on her way to the salon later in the morning. Really, I don't think either of us will have to totally move till June 1, especially since we'll be gone to TN the third weekend in May. See how it goes.

Our AFS daughter from Switzerland is coming back to Ohio in July with her husband and two girls this time! Unfortunately she'll be here the week we're in Myrtle Beach! But on the upside of that, Brenda got permission from the landlady at the apts to let them stay in our apt there while we're gone and it'll save them so much money! Heard from her tonight and she is so grateful. Said she'll use the apt while we're gone and then when we get back Saturday they've booked a room at the bed and breakfast in Hiram (the next town from ours) for Sat. and Sun. night. That Sunday we'll have a big get together for her family and then I think they fly out Monday to Florida for a week. We're hoping if they have a late flight Monday we might be able to take them all to the zoo in Cleveland and then they can just go to the airport from there. So sad we won't get more time with her! But at least we're able to help them with a place to stay.

Missed at least two QOTD: I like chunky all natural, my DH likes smooth. And here we say soda.

Celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary tonight by going out for supper. Anytime anyone cooks for me is a big treat.

Since our rain on Monday things have really started to green up. It's surprising how fast it happens. Two weeks ago we were covered with 18 inches of snow.

I don't think I'll be posting quite as much now that we're so much busier at work. When I come home it's time to put my cook/housekeeper hat on, and by then I'm ready to call it a night and relax. Getting on the computer for a prolonged amount of time isn't an option until fall. I'll try to check in once or twice a week just to keep up on the goings on here.

those are WONDERFUL pictures,, you saw so much ,,thank you for sharing with us !!

my bff and I were just talking about this,, I taught at a Christian School,,and I talked with the parents,, and with THEIR permission ,, I could "hug"" the little ones.. very sad when we can NOT do that,, especially when tears are flowing...

Bff's , DH stands at the door on Tue eve. at our Church checking the kids in/out,,it is kids night(Bible stories, ect ) and makes sure they are picked up with the right person,, last night a parent didn't show and he was left standing w/ a little girl, he had to CALL per his cell phone back into the Church ( he couldn't leave the girl alone, nor TAKE her back into the Church alone w/ him ),, he called on his cell and said I NEED a women standing here with me and this little girl. Those pictures are AWESOME Steph!

Annie, Jo Ann has a point, maybe if you contact Spark you could figure out why you're kicked off the team all the time! I've never had that happen!

I really understand why all the precautions are taken in the schools, but gosh it's sad things have come to that. And still people find a way to get to the kids, don't they?

Works out well for the van rental, we have our routine bloodwork the day we pick the van up and our doctor appts the day we take it back and it's right down the road from the doctor office.

Happy Earth Day…cooler temps today and still have the front door open.

Teaching today…because of all the abuse by priests and others in the Catholic church the powers that be, are very specific lay people being around children. Each year I have to watch a video about child abuse and sign off I’ve seen it. Each lay person who teaches has an aide in the classroom. If no aide then the door stays open. I started with an Aide but due to health she couldn’t continue, so my door is open. This is foreign to from my many years of teaching in public schools, but I understand the need to not take any chances.
Public School teachers and no hugs…for the younger grades side hugs are permissible. I know my DD, Gwen who teaches first grade does side hugs. She told me she had a student last year who came over to her and crawled into her lap…guess he needed something, it was in the class filled with students. Gwen made light of it, gently put him aside…she didn’t say anything to him.

Joyce - I have neighbors I know well that I will ask if they knit, and go from there. Good job in contacting the person who posted the pattern.

Gwynlee - There is powdered peanut butter powder that is 45 cal. for 2 tbspns. I use that for smoothies, so I get my peanut butter fix and low calories too!

Barb - Think of yourself as being unique that’s makes it more mysterious… emoticon

Stephanie - Those are beautiful pictures of Yosemite. I’ve never been there and it is on my bucket list.

Annie - Have you thought about contacting Spark to let them know and ask what to do? A movie theater…huh…guess the trains have to do something to compete with airlines.

Gwyn, I don't eat peanut butter often, but once in awhile on my toast and just have a yogurt for breakfast.

Morning All;

Weather is a little cooler here also today, but not as cold as Merri ! Although they have been telling us that colder weather is coming! I guess April is going to leave the same as it came in ... COLD!

QOTD: I say soda ..... although it sounds like 'soder' to some people! Funny how in different parts of this country words sound and mean different things! emoticon

I was born & raised in NJ, then when I moved to Florida (West coast) I was the 'strange' one as most of that coast was settled by mid-westerners. Now that I'm back in NJ I'm still 'strange' as I've picked up some Southern/Mid-West expressions!

Guess the theme is "I'm Strange" !! emoticon

When we were growing up, we only said "pop". Now that we have moved here in Kenosha for the last 55 yrs...we say "soda" after people would look at us so strangely..LOL

It is only 34 here right now and they are having all sort of accidents on the interstate as it has turned to ice in some places...We are suppose to have snow showers all morning...Gosh!!!!

I think an even worse thing about teaching is that you can't even give the kids a hug. Jenn taught pre K in a Catholic school and also Kindergarten but she was told that you can't give the kids a hug or let them hug you.

Barb, that sure messes things up being without power! Sorry about your lack of sleep!

Jo Ann, that's a good possibility the pattern was off. I did the "Kittens in a Row" afghan years ago and then lost the pattern. I found it again finally online and started to work it and it wasn't coming out right. I contacted the person who had the pattern and sure enough - she had put it wrong when she posted it on her site! Glad you found a pattern that is working, but for sure I'd ask around and see if you can figure that one out!

Isn't that a sad commentary that in public schools a simple act like "God Bless You" can create a fuss?? I think it has gotten SO much worse than it used to be.....thinking teaching isn't nearly as fun as it was years ago.

QOTD: smooth peanut butter…my favorite is WalMart’s Great Value No Stir Creamy Natural…good price and great taste, no added sugar.

Peggy - It was a pattern using multiples of 15 +4…I counted carefully, had the right number of stitches, I knew how to do the stitches, I even carefully counted the pattern as I knitted, at the end of the row, I never had the stitches to finish the row according to the directions…so
I found another knitted ripple pattern that is going along nicely and I am going to ask people who I know here in the retirement community if they know anyone who is a long time knitter and ask for an introduction as I’d love to find out what I did wrong or mis-interpreted.
I couldn’t begin to imagine switching patterns to do it left handed!

Annie - That a girl be proactive when it comes to having company…like putting depression glass up high, nothing down low and leaving notes with helpful requests. Whenever Bruce and I visit, I always ask if I can strip the beds before we leave…and if there’s anything else I can do.

Joyce - I agree $500 is better than nothing. Only fair to share owning the vacation vehicle!
With so many patterns available on line, I found another knitted ripple that is working out nicely. I am now wondering if there isn’t something wrong with the pattern, that’s why I need to find a knitting mentor here in the retirement community.

Gwyn - Nothing better for a woman’s moral like getting her hair cut and touched up!

Barb - Great to read that you joined BLC28…I can say from experience that you can lose at least a lb. a week, and sometimes more. Hope you get on a team that will help you lose that lb. or more a week!

Bern - Gotta say I’ve never seen a spider that look as cool as your Lupita!

I have been teaching a religion class at my church for the past couple of years. My class are comprised of elementary aged boys/girls who haven't made their communion or confirmation. I have enjoyed being able to be in a teaching environment and share my love of the Lord. The first time when one of the students sneezed, I realized I could say..."God Bless you..." and not get in trouble as I would have when I taught in public schools. Gotta admit felt great!

Not a very good sleep day, I got home and the electricity was out, and had been out since 7 pm, it was quite cold in the house, I crawled in bed with my longies on but was COLD, EMEC kept saying it would be back at 8 then 9 then 10 then no message and no time. It finally came back on at 3, so not much sleep today.

QOTD I am not a peanutbutter fan at all, I know that puts me in a strange person category but that is life.

Love the stuff way too much for my own good. My fav is the kind that comes in orange wrappers, the little circles that are covered in chocolate.

Great story Merri about Ken fixing the old man. I'm glad no one had a fainting spell.

My little shield spider is still very happy in her home, (my clothesline). We had a wind storm about 6 weeks ago that made me think she got carried away, but she was smart and found something to hang onto. My little Lupita

QOTD: Our favorite peanut butter is Jif and we vary from smooth to crunchy to extra crunchy - depending on our mood.

You should still have a couple of good years out of the van yet Merri, ours was showing a lot of rust on the underside for awhile, but now it's breaking through and no longer safe. :-( It was such a great van for travel for us, could take eight people and all their luggage in a rooftop carrier. It's been to TN numerous times, Disney a few times, Myrtle Beach a few times, Canada, New York City, D.C. It's paid its dues, for sure.

Gwyn, yaaay on the new hair-do - feels good, doesn't it? Time for me to get a cut/color but my GD cuts mine and I color my own usually, although sometimes I go to DD's salon to get it done. Andrea cut Andy's hair Sunday but I told her I'd wait till closer to our vacation to do mine.

Barb, good luck with BLC! I've done many rounds on it, as have Peggy, Jo Ann, and Annie. You can get some really good motivation there. Let us know which team you're on!!

Morning All;

QOTD: I like chunky - prefer Jiff, but Skippy & Peter Pan are just as good.

Rained all day yesterday, lots of roads were flooded. Today it's supposed to clear up, but not yet! The grass is really green, such a pleasure seeing that after months of either brown or white!

Just joined BLC28 - first time ever tried anything - so hopefully it will get me motivated to lose this weight!!

QOTD: Do you prefer smooth or crunchy peanut butter.

I like the crunchy Jiff kind and Ken likes the smooth Skippy kind...SO, two bottles of peanut butter in this house LOL.

Joyce, I do remember you getting the transmission fixed on your van maybe last year or two years ago....We have a 99 Astro van and Ken says that the bottom of ours is really rusting too....I know it will only be time too before we have to retired it too.

We just feel so much safer in it than our Landrover. We sit up so much higher in it too...We can haul wood, rain gutters, and oh so much in it too...

.Did I tell you on here maybe last summer Ken had fixed the rails under the plastic panels on the sides of the van? Than when we came out from grocery shopping one day we seen where the darn panel was coming down once again.

He went over to the van and give the panel a good kick to get it in place. Still didn't want to go in place. He than opened the door to fix it.....WRONG van and there was an older man sitting in it too.....Oh my gosh, I am not sure who was more scared LOL....Oh boy, did Ken apologize over and over. The man just sat there.....Same year same color...same problem....

I think we are getting close to 100,000 now as we have had it ten years. But, we don't travel hardly at all...Home body couple I guess. Ken has never wanted to travel at all...

QOTD one of my water sources is a spring, that is gravity feed from about a 1/2 mile up the hill, I like the taste of the water, I also have a well that I mainly use as a back up. I don't really like the plastic taste of bottled water, most of it is just well water even though it says spring water, look at Poland springs here in Maine, they are all wells not springs lol. If I am out and forgot my water bottle I do sometimes buy a bottled water but I had an unfortunate incident with a water bottle a couple of years ago. I used to always have a water bottle going in the car and left the cap off it, I got in my car to go to work and it was getting dark, on the way down the hill I grabbed the bottle and took a swig, and promptly spit it out, when I held the bottle up to the light there was a dead mouse floating around in it, yuck, I actually had to stop and throw up. I haven't been much into bottled water since then even though I know it was my fault to leave the cap off, the thought of a aqua fina water just turns my stomach. They kidded me at work for a long time that I liked "mice water" instead of ice water!

The puzzle question made me stop and think, I used to love to do jigsaw puzzles, but I haven't done one for years, maybe just not enough time!

It's a 96 Dodge van Merri with around 130,000 miles on it I think. We had it eight years and took a lot of amazing trips in it with the family. I think Jim and Brenda plan on getting a new van in a couple of months so THEY can be the ones providing the vacation vehicle now. We've done our time. LOL

Joyce, What kind of van did you have? What year was it too? LOL not the question of the day

I always have our company strip the beds when they get ready to leave. I always have a clean set for them to put on right away too...Least they can do....Even our son Rick does it too...

Good luck figuring the pattern out Jo Ann! I hate it when a pattern stumps me, but I usually figure it out eventually.

Annie, that's a good idea Peggy had - let them cook and you just bake! Definitely would ask them to strip the beds! I always did that when we visited our dear Nancy. I used to offer to cook a meal or two and I always did the dishes for her.

Steph, your trip looked amazing!!

Ended up a rainy day, but got more sorting/pitching done today. Went through my yarn and decided what I might be likely to use and got rid of the rest. Cleaned out a couple more areas, slowly gaining on it.

Austin got a car dealer in town to buy the van for $500. He said he'd have given us more but scrap prices are down now. Not complaining - better than nothing. He has the equipment to pull the motor and transmission and will scrap the body. Andy has to go tomorrow and get a paper title for it so he can deliver it to him. We only had a memorandum title which was all we needed to get tags, but he'll need the full title to scrap it. Austin did the Kelly Blue Book value on it and it was $500-$800, and considering it has to be scrapped, that was a fair offer.

I hope they do the dishes.

Jo Ann when I am having a problem with a knitted project I have to read it out loud to figure it out. I'm left handed so I have to reverse all of the directions

Have you googled the stitch on you tube?

I am making a crocheted ripple afghan for a friends daughter and now she is having twins. This will be her 3rd and 4th

QOTD - We have filters on the water dispenser on the fridge and the sink, and I drink that water. Bruce has bottled water in the man cave fridge for guests.

Warming up to the high 80’s…got a walk in early this am, and will finish in the workout room this afternoon.

Peggy - Sorry to read that you didn’t feel well yesterday.

Joyce - Snow…what??? I sure do miss lilacs here in the desert…supposedly there is a lilac bush that will grow here, but I have to find it.

Annie - I’ve read that several of the team members have had to rejoin the team. That hasn’t happened to me…yet!!! Did you do BLC27?
Having company is the best, and when they leave, it is the best, too!

I am being stymied by a knitted ripple pattern for a lap blanket/baby blanket…but I will get it…it isn’t rocket science for the pattern…second try this afternoon!

qotd:
We are like Bern,, not quite the "fish tank water, and Bern SO glad you explained you are not a connoisseur of fish tank water"..
but ours turns red/rusty when lots of tourists are on the peninsula,, and thus for DH who was hemacromotosis he CAN not have anymore iron in his system,, DH's specialist said to just use a Britta system and we would be fine..

once the 1000's of people are outa here(weekends over/summer) about Tue the water is good again,,not so much water running through the huge pipes and hitting the TOP of the old pipes to hit the rust in there,,on it's way to each of our homes..
I learned all this because I went to the Water Dept and said my DH has a medical problem,, and I am starting RIGHT here.. so they shared all the above with me,, and then I could tell DH's specialist..

ah,,,,, so QUIET here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love it..LOL now to make the beds, w/ the clean bedding..

QOTD: Do you usually drink either bottled Spring water or purified water? Do you think there is a big difference between the two of them?

I know there are regions of the country where you don't have a choice and have to buy drinking water, thankfully I don't live in one. Our water used to come exclusively from aquifer and it was delicious. Then the area expanded and the water department added a reservoir to keep up. Since then the water tastes like fish tank, not that I'm a connoisseur of fish tank water. So I run it through the Brita and the birds sing and the butterflies kiss.

I'm from the camp that thinks bottled water is making somebody rich.

Well, I'm still alive, so there's that…..

QOTD We take the water from our faucet and put it in an open pitcher in the refrigerator. Then we use that.

Hope you feel better today Peggy!

We have some sunshine this morning, but it looks like a cool week ahead of us, highs in the 50's rather than hitting 70. Even mentioned the possibility of snow flurries mid week! I hope it doesn't get too cold, the lilac buds are out!

QOTD: I drink our own water mostly. I buy bottled water occasionally, drink the water and the re-fill with our water and use those bottles awhile.

Morning All;

Had beautiful weather this weekend! The trees have buds on them - should start blooming soon! Today it's pouring rain - but that's OK - it's good for the plants.

My daughter had a small Bday celebration for my GS (Ben) he was 1 on 4/9. Had a nice brunch at a local restaurant - it was for the grandparents & godparents only. His BIG party will be in June - I know kinda late!!! In all fairness, she is finishing up school - will be graduating with her Masters late May - so she has NO time for anything. That's OK, Ben is still young enough not to realize and he just loves parties anyway........as long as he's the center of attention he's happy!

QOTD: This weekend I had my windows open - felt good to get fresh air into the house.

QOTD: Love to do puzzles. I usually set one up on the dining room table - sometimes it takes a week to finish it, but everytime someone passes a couple more pieces get added! This is a great winter activity.

QOTD: I drink poland spring water when @ work or out. At home I have a water purifier on my faucet and drink that. I do think the bottled spring water tastes better than other bottled water.

QOTD: Do you usually drink either bottled Spring water or purified water? Do you think there is a big difference between the two of them?

We do have a filter on our fridge and usually get our drinking water from there, but when we are outside now, we usually drink the bottled purified water. My BIL is saying that Spring water is so much better for you????

We had rain here most yesterday afternoon and night. They are saying more rain for the morning hours yet too. We did manage to get one more rain gutter done in time tho. Too much of the water was pitched to the back of the house towards our garage.....

Good morning everyone!!!!

yesterday I had cramps in my stomach and I was laying on the floor trying to get rid of them. I fell asleep on the floor for a while and then I fell asleep in my chair with Jerry practicing his trumpet in the next room. I guess I really needed sleep.

QOTD - Jigsaw puzzles? Not my cup of tea…

Another gorgeous day.

Peggy - I had my lazy day, yesterday! Did get in my 10,000 steps today…anything after that is bonus!

Joyce - Did Peggy’s gently push work?
