I get a flu shot every yr. I have gotten sick just one time..but not so sure it was ,maby I was exposed to the flu RIGHT before I had the shot.. Never been sick again with the flu shot..

an UPDATE to % OFF !!

We went to Home Depot yesterday, for more remodel stuff, got a cart full, Don handed her his VETS card.. she goes,, WE, HOMEDEPOT NO LONGER HONORS A 10 % DISCOUNT FOR VETS UNLESS YOU ARE 100% .

To say the least,we had a couple hundred $$worth of stuff,, BUT i had DH's paper work in the car to show he is 100 % so we got the discount.. but like my brother, who is NOT 100 % ,, he no longer gets the disount.

Home Depot said,, to many abused it, buying for OTHERS not military and getting a discount for them. SAD. it ruined it for those who didnt abuse the discount.

thought you all would like to know this it just happened, since we got things there last week.

Peggy, That has to be so nice to go to FL for the winter months. I wish we would feel safe enough leaving our house for a few months too. We do have two kids that have houses in FL that are empty all year round...

Oh boy, Adin, is turning 11 already??? Where did the time go so fast?

Steph, I don't get the flu shots. Andy gets them every year, I pass.

Gwyn, that's a wonderful exercise routine you have! I try to walk two miles a day and throw strength in a few times a week.

Peggy, we're leaving Friday morning. Only for the weekend, so not much packing involved. Supposed to be sunny and 70 the whole weekend there! :-). Eleven years old already! Give him a birthday hug for us. He was only 4 when I met you here!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone. How are you all doing?

We're starting to get things packed. I have to get the boxes and suitcases out of the attic.

We leave on Thursday for our drive back to Florida. This afternoon we go up to Adin's for his birthday. I can't believe that he turns 11.

i have been exercising regularly for 17 years now. Normally I exercise 6 days a week -- atleast 40 minutes a day. this past few weeks I have been exercising 4 days a week till last week -- it was five days. this week I am back up to 6 days. I got down to 20 minutes a day -- back up to 30 as of yesterday. today: 40 minutes and beyond!

Barb:
I don't know about your ins. BUT after working in the pharmacy (as a clerk ) for many yrs. I learned that the ins co. can let you have your meds 10 days prior to the date they are to renew.. I ALWAYS said , fill mine at the 10 day ahead time,, so after doing this many times, I had a 30 day supply setting there for me,, a HUGE bonus when I had to change Dr/s !!

ALSO
something they don't tell you,, not that you are to use this one,, but it IS an insurance agreement::

You might~~ might~~ say you are "taking a vacation:" you WILL not be there to get your meds.. you don't think there is a pharmacy where you will be CAMPING. lol...
The tech or pharmisist will put in a request for a VACATION OVERRIDE... and you can get your meds BEFORE you leave on vacation
NOW::
You will be asked WHEN/DATE you are leaving and DATE you will be returning on/from your vacation??????
that way the tech can explain to the ins. co.. this person will NOT be here to get their meds.. the
ins. co's only let you do this once or twice in a time limit ''' say most RX's are made out for 6 months to 1 yr..
but
I used that one,, and we were going on vacation, and I could have transfered it to another pharmacy we were NOT camping.. LOL.. but you go through SO much paper work/time to transfer to another pharmacy.. I just used the going on vacation DATE to DATE,, thing..

so
LONG post,,, for hope this helps.. I know Walmart is a harder pharmacy to work with, due to the high volume,,,, BUT you CAN ask for these things..

We did it .. now I have to tell you.. I worked in Oregon.. BUT IF the pharmacy will take the time ,, THEY CAN HELP YOU... it is UP to the pharmacy..

I just shared the above info w/my BFF that was here ,, she was waiting for her ((time)) EXACT date for her flu shot. from 1 yr ago... I said, GO to the pharmacy 10 days prior to the DATE !! She was happy to know that she didn't want the flu...she had been exposed to it..

Barb, that is so frustrating!! I know I refilled one of Andy's and they told me it was "too soon" when I went to get it. Luckily for me the price on that one was the same if I paid it without insurance, so I got it anyhow. We don't get up there that often, but at least it isn't as far as it is for you.

Peggy, we should have coordinated better, we could have met for lunch at a travel plaza! LOL

Merri, it's nice your DH is so cautious with you! I know ever since I ditched my car Andy almost always wants to drive me everywhere. I do manage to escape once in awhile, though.

Gwyn, good that you're working exercise in with your temp job!

Annie, what are you up to today?

It's cloudy here, supposed to rain again. I need to start getting organized to be gone this weekend. Short trip, just leaving Thurs. and back Mon. night.

Saturday when I went to get grain in Houlton, I stopped at Walmart to get my prescription for Prednisone they told me I couldn't pick it up until after I ran out of the current one. Interesting concept, it is a 80 mile round trip to get the prescription and I have to wait until I am all out of a medication I am not supposed to be without and then run up and get it. I called the insurance company today and they didn't seem to think that was an imposition at all to put me on last minute run and pick up. You are not supposed to abruptly stop taking prednisone it can cause backlash and all kinds of symptoms, not to mention losing my platelets again. They finally decided to put an override on the hold order so I could pick it up early, so now I have to wait for an hour after work in the morning for them to open and lose an hours sleep. Makes you wonder why the world is so lacking in common sense in rules now.

I go back to work tonight, stayed up too late finishing canning beets and beet pickles last night, did two canner loads of beets in the pressure canner, and it takes so long to heat up, and cool down that it was after 3 am when I fell into bed. Shouldn't have started that project so late in the day after such a busy day!

Hope everyone is having a good monday!

Annie, Oh what a pleasant surprise for you with your DH going to church with you!! I could almost hear the excitement in your post LOL.

My DH has been going with me now almost 3 1/2 years. Ever since I fell down our basement stairs head first and fractured my right wrist. He is so afraid of me going on any steps now and I sing in our church choir that is of course up in the choir LOL...

I still don't go down our basement stairs without him ahead of me. I made a promise to him I would never go down there with out him with me...A promise is a promise I guess...I know he doesn't worry that way when he goes someplace and I am here alone....

The sun is out today and it is 45 already...A great day to go to the grocery store for a few things...Of course Ken's bananas LOL

I am SO with what Joyce said,, I think it was GREAT they had the party at their home,, and the boys had a grand time running around outside !!! (( an added bonus running off the sugar..lol )) but as Joyce said,, some of these parties are just to try and outdo the "other" ones,, the kids remember the FUN , not all the stuff !!

It errks me when you see/hear/read of movie stars spending MILLIONS on parties !!

I had a SUPER nice surprise today,, DH got up right after me, headed to the shower,, and said he was going to Church with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He has not gone to Church in over 3 yrs. !! so nice to set next to my DH and not someone in the spot next to me..!!
then
after lunch,, he finished installing our 2 new medicine cabinets and 2 set of new lights in our bathroom...
He has not felt this good in years.. maby the VA 's Dr.'s have him medically better !!

Barb, that sure was a bummer of a day for you! So sorry to hear your mother is failing and awful news about your uncle. Bless your father's heart for being so dedicated to Mom!

Merri, we had our first frost last week.

Peggy, those parties are the best kind. So many get so wrapped up in the fancy parties at bowling alleys, skating rinks, bounce houses, etc. - trying to outdo everyone else. I think the home parties are still the most fun! Yaay on the family tree breakthrough!

I did get the walk in yesterday. Got a little damp, but not bad.

The benefit didn't have the turnout they hoped for, but I figure whatever was made was more than she had before! They didn't advertise it well enough. Then they bought the food from an area restaurant. I felt bad when I heard that - I could have done it for them for the price of ingredients. They just had rigatoni, salad and rolls.

After that we went to my niece's Halloween party for a little while. It was in her garage and it was pretty chilly and damp. They had a hay ride just as we got there but we passed on that and hugged the wood burner instead. LOL

My GS Chance ended up in the hospital last night. Went to a party and was horse playing with some guy and he ended up falling hard on concrete. Messed his face up, six stitches in his chin. Guess he got up and then fell backwards and hit the back of his head pretty hard, too. They did a CT scan to be sure no brain damage. Amy said he's looking pretty rough, lots of "cement burn".

We had our first frost here last night. I could see Ken looking out the window and couldn't figure out what the heck he was looking at...It still excites the both of us to see the first frost and snowflakes LOL...Such excitement in our house here in WI....

The sun is out now so we can get a nice walk in. We are not having to be careful where we walk as these darn young adults think it is fun to just jump while walking or even in slow moving cars now. Darn, what is this world coming to anyway...

Our two DD's who way in the sticks LOL...Upper MI keep telling us to move and live by them. It is just too cold for the thieves to live there....That is where we were raised and maybe should have stayed.

We are right between Chicago and Milwaukee. They just got this big ring of drug dealers in our area...51 of them were arrested....

All in all yesterday was kind of a bummer. My Dad talked to me while I was out putting the pumpkins and corn stalks up, he doesn't talk much about stuff or even let you know what is going on, but I think he is scared of what is going on with my mother. All he said is that she just disappears, guess she is just blanking out for a while like some dementia patients do. When I asked if she always still recognizes him, he paused for quite a while and then said no. I am not sure how long he is going to be able to care for her but he is committed to doing it so I feel it is his decision and will support him how I can. I talked to my younger brother last night, he asked Dad about what happens if she passes before the addition gets done and Dad said he would still go live with Mike. Dad has never even mentioned anything about them going to live with Mike to me or Jim, they are so secretive some times.

So about 8 or so my Dad called, his only remaining sibling, my Uncle Clem is in the hospital, he got up in the night looking for the cat and went outside and fell down the stairs, he has steep stairs at both entrances. Guess he was out there all night, with broken ribs and internal bleeding. They don't expect him to make it, he is 94 now. I haven't seem him much the last couple of years because I work in the opposite direction, but he used to come up and visit me at the market garden every day, bring me lunch and talk, and show me old pictures. I really enjoy him a lot.

I took a mad cleaning fit about 10 pm last night and started cleaning out my fridge, must be the prednisone talking! took everything off the doors cleaned the shelves and the whole 9 yards, all I was really going to do was put the applesauce in bags and freeze it and never got that part done!

Merri, I will take good care of this truck, can't even imagine paying what you have to pay for a new one, and it is handy with the extra high top on the back so I can get grain and stuff without getting it wet, the donkey even gets transported in the back! I got tires for the back last year, expensive but not as bad as my car with those low profile tires, probably front ones next year!

GWYN I read your bucket list and laughed, I have always wanted to play the flute, I even have one I bought a couple of years ago. I would love to take lessons because some of the fine points are really missing with me, I am not very musical at all, and slightly tone deaf, but I still want to play. I searched for a teacher locally and ever further afield but guess that is not popular. The closest one was over 100 miles away which wouldn't work with my night scheduled at all. I have thought about online lessons, maybe I will take the plunge this winter when I am not so busy with other stuff!

Peggy, sounds like Adin's party was a success! It is great they do the party at home with old fashioned running around and having fun!

Annie, that was great about the exercising in the Bank, funny that we think about that stuff now too, I often think when I am somewhere that I could be doing some exercise, wonder if anyone would notice! In the morning at the hospital in the winter people come and walk the halls about 6am before it is busy, sometimes I walk the halls at night for exercise because I am bored, guess I should bring some dumbbells too! Saying prayers for both your Sister and Nephew, seems like cancer touches more and more families.

Joyce, Halloween party sounds like fun! you are always going to such interesting places!

Everyone have a good Sunday, time to get up and get at em!

We had a fantastic time at Adin's game and birthday party. It was 8 boys having a great time.

I love that he has parties at home. After they have cake and ice cream they run around outside in the dark chasing each other and getting rid of their sugar high. All but three of the boys slept over so Jodi and Dave must have had a great night too.

I'll be back after Church and a bike ride.

I got another breakthrough on my Family Tree. This time on Jerry's side.

Awww, Annie, that's not good news! Hope your nephew's report will be better. Hugs and prayers. Hope you got your walk in. Think I'm going to try to go now - looks like the rain is done.

What a HOOT of a story about your sis exercising then SINGING on the Bart train !!! I bet you sure do miss her,, what a GREAT sense of humor/life she must have been !!!

today, I called my sis, her tests came back she has cancer,, she is NOT worried in the least,, said she has lived a good life,, but her concern was more for her son(my nephew, I had you guys on here prayer about 1 1/2 yrs ago for his brain cancer,, he is 51 yrs,,) and she said the DR. was concerned had him come in for more MRI 's so we find out this week if it has returned.. He sold a vacation home they had, his Dr.'s told him to """ Get his life in order"".. I don't think THAT was good news..

off to walk,, well GUESS I am,, my BFF forgot yesterday and went to the local Coffee Shop.. I CRACKED up laughing,, we ALWAYS walk at 10:30 a.m. we are adding it up to Ol' Timers

Wow, Barb, you wear me out just reading your posts! Glad the ram behaved for you!

Merri, isn't it funny how our "age perspective" changes? I lost my mother at 55 and father at 56. My eldest daughter just turned 50 and still seems young to me!

Peggy, no doubt in my mind you'll have a wonderful day with Adin!

Gwyn, you go girl! I never made a bucket list, but think if I had, many of the things would be crossed off it by now. So many dream places I wanted to see and have. :-)

We have a benefit dinner to go to later and then a Halloween party at my niece's.

Annie, I had just read your post and was laughing at you about doing your exercising in the bank. When we went to visit my sister in CA and we were on the BART train. The train stopped right on the track as I guess they said it was so hot outside that BART thought there was something in front of it..

Well, we were there for awhile and my dear sister thought it would be a good thing to do her exercises right in the middle of the isle. Oh my God, I felt about two inches high, but she had everyone laughing with her. Such cheap entertainment for all of us....Than she thought it would really get them going when she started to sing. She loves karaoke and had them all singing next. I really miss her as she passed in May after a total knee surgery..

Good morning to all of my Sparkler friends:

Cold, some rain and yes, we are going to be hitting the freezing mark later on this weekend...

Good news: Today is our DD's birthday. Wow, she is 54 today. My mom only lived to be 54 and it seemed like she was an old 54...Our DD is at her condo in FL enjoying herself with her hubby. The kids are both grown now and they can enjoy this condo by themselves now...

Not much going on here today. We will wait till later this afternoon when it is suppose to clear up to do our walk...Church at 5:45 PM..

Ken is putting a roast on for lunch... I really didn't want him grilling out today...

I just seen on the TV news where a car actually drove right into the building on one of our new motels on the interstate. They are saying that the person fell asleep. A lot of damage done for just falling asleep...

Barb, We have a 99 and feel the same way you do with your truck. Ken had to replace most of the brake line on our van too. He just replaced the rails on both sides where you step into the van. It looks so good yet and no bumps nor rust now at all...I do think we are really close to 100,000...It has only 52,000 when we bought it ten years ago. We are thinking about getting new tires on it this fall now too....

Seems like I have been on the road every since I got home from the hospital. Yesterday I went to get my truck fixed, new brake line and exhaust gasket, it wasn't too bad for an older truck. You have got to expect some maintenance on a 97 Truck and it is doing well for it's age. I have had the truck for 3 years now and just noticed that it only has 89,000 miles on it, it had 81,000 on it when Kevin, my nephew, gave it to me. It helps that it still looks good, there was one rust spot on it and last summer I sanded and painted it right away, lucky it is white so no matching paint!

I took some apples in to Millinocket with me for a friend that wanted to make apple butter along with a couple of pumpkins and buttercup squash and a bag of beets. We went over to her cousins so I could look at her long arm work, I have several quilt tops that I don't really have time to hand quilt and I was thinking of having her quilt them. She does beautiful work! I would love to have a long arm quilter but where would I find the time between every thing else, maybe when I retire.

I have to go up to Houlton and get grain today, it will save me from having to stop several times after work next week, sometimes it is a real chore to have to wait an hour after getting out of work at 7am to get grain when all you want to do is go to sleep, and I suspect that I will be tired going back to work. It is nice that the grocery store and walmart are both open at 7, but you would think a feed store would be open early too!

Before I go to Houlton I am going to go get some corn stalks to tie together for my parents front porch and take a couple of pumpkins to decorate, not that I am much of a decorator, but Dad said my mother was saying nothing was up for fall, I have to admit I don't remember them ever putting up fall decorations but it will look nice on their porch.

When I got home yesterday the Amish kids were here cleaning out one of the sheep pens, they were kind of messy, with a pile of stuff left on the door step and they didn't even move the pallet in the corner just left it piled with manure. Also the Ram was out running around, good thing he is a kind and gentle ram, he went back to his pen when I asked him to and I shut the gate so no encounters of the bruising sort. I don't know why that gate would have been open they wouldn't have been working on that pen, and also the water was leaking in the calf pen, like they hit the hoses with something, I had to go get pliers and tighten it but a lot of water had wet down the new bedding. I hate to stand over people doing a job but seems like you have to lately. Guess I am just lucky the ram didn't run out the door, I am not putting him in with the ewes until a little later, and I need to separate out a couple of young ewes first so they don't get bred their first year.

We got a ton of rain yesterday and in the night, there was standing water in my yard up over my sandals, about 2-3" and water was coming in my basement, unusual for this time of year. It has also been very warm, up to 74 yesterday, T-shirt weather! I picked some corn in the garden for supper, usually it is frosted by now but it was very good, still a bunch there too, and I don't really want to freeze any this year. Maybe my neighbor will want some!

Well hope everyone is having a good weekend! Enjoy the day!

Barb from Maine!

Joyce I'm knitting an infinity scarf and a reverse shawl and also I'm going to go and look at the other baby afghan that I brought with me. I think it's a granny square one.

Tomorrow is Adin's birthday party and he made his one cake. One layer vanilla and one layer chocolate. Aunt Jenn asked what kind of icing he was having and he said the kind that Mommy makes , the good kind.

Went to the local bank to have my S.S. transfered from our old bank to this new one,, The banker was on the phone 58 mins.. !!!!! when a REAL person came on the phone line !!! then the gal from S.S. asked if I would like to take a survery about Social Security???
I go:::::: NO,, don't think you would like the answers I would give after being on HOLD for an HR!!! all the bank tellers CRACKED up laughing (( they all kept listening, cuz I was standing at the teller counter on HOLD ))..!!!

I also said I should be doing my exercises while holding on the counter,, but the security cameras would make the person looking at them call the police,,for ::: WHAT is THIS woman doing??? we ALL laughed !!

Gwyn, I never mastered knitting - but you go girl!!!

Trudy, when do you go to Vegas? Brenda and her hubby are flying there next Saturday. He has a business conference there. They stay at Red Rock resort. She said they'll go to the Fremont Experience over the weekend, but conference days she'll just hang out at the pool and casino. Sounds like you have a fun, busy weekend ahead of you!

Merri, my GS (Andrea's brother) had low blood count when he was just little. I remember us having to take him for bloodwork quite a few times. The nurses loved him, he never cried, just wathed what they did. He'd just say he had to get another "poke hole" We're not expecting anything serious. She's been taking prescription iron supplements so perhaps the follow up will be better.

Checked the weather forecast for TN next weekend and it's looking really good. Hope it stays that way and that we catch color in the mountains!

Tomorrow we have a benefit dinner for a gal who needs a wheelchair lift vehicle. She was in an auto accident 30 years ago. Her brother died and she's been paralyzed from the waist down since. She has such a hard time getting in and out of her car, so this benefit was arranged to hopefully help toward getting the vehicle she needs. Then tomorrow night my niece is having a Halloween Party we have to at least make an appearance at.

I think that's all. DD asked if we'd like to go up to the winery to hear the band we like tonight, but I think we're passing on that. Sunday there's a "Dawg Walk" to benefit the high school soccer program, but thinking we aren't doing that either - it's one of those "bar to bar" things and not really our "thing." LOL

THE SUN IS OUT!! THE SUN IS OUT!! THE SUN IS OUT!!
I'm so happy to see the sun!! Like Merri we haven't had sun since last Sunday! Yesterday afternoon, late, the sun came out and I called my neighbor and told her to quick look out the window!! I didn't want her to miss it!! She came over later and it was nice enough that we sat on the deck for about an hour. There really won't me many more days like that!
My son got here around 6 last night and we watched the first episode of True Detectives. I think it's good. I fixed a chili mac casserole and it was really tasty.
Tonight we may go downtown and listen to some music.
Tomorrow some friends are having a bonfire and chili evening. That'll be great. I love sitting and looking at a fire. Plus good food and visiting with good friends.
Sunday I'll spend some time getting ready for Las Vegas!!
I hope you all have a good weekend.

I remember when my DH's blood work was low and they made such a big deal over it and than all of a sudden it had to be ok as nothing was never said again. We even asked about it and it was like what were we even talking about....

The sun it out here after raining since Sunday night. Wow, we better enjoy it as they are saying rain once again right about the time when the rush hour starts tonight...Great and than all of the fallen leaves makes the roads and sidewalks to slippery...

I enjoy knitting and should get back into it now that the weather is getting crappy...

YAAAAY Peggy finished the afghan!

Annie, I know, seems Peggy's trips come along really fast! That was funny on the bus trip vs you driving!

Barb, glad things are improving a bit! My GD has to see a hematologist in Nov. to get her blood count checked out. It was low at the dr. office and he wants her to see a specialist.

Trudy, the anniversary dinner was such fun!

I swear I feel like I've been run over by a truck today - just feel so worn down. Think I might be catching cold, that might be what the issue is.

We had a kind of drizzly day today, but very warm for this time of year, I just wore a T-shirt out. I really wanted to wear a long sleeved shirt so all these bruises wouldn't show but way too hot.

I went to Millinocket and got my lab work done, then visited a friend and did some shopping before my appointment with the Dr. My Platelets are up to 95 emoticon How cool is that! My potassium is 4.2 so Randy said I didn't have to bother with the horse pills anymore, those K+ are HUGE! So I am also allowed to go back to work Monday. I have to go and see the Hematologist on the 28th, 10 am appointment that they want you to be 20 minutes early to, guess that will be an early morning with an hour and a half ride to Bangor and chores to do before.

I stopped at Grindstone again on the way home and walked fast for about 30 minutes to get my 10 K steps in, plus the 30 minutes of highly active time. Nice place to walk and very beautiful!

Hope everyone's day was great!

Good afternoon,
Joyce, I loved seeing the pictures on fb of your surprise anniversary party!! How much fun that must have been!!
My friends from the Y and I went out to dinner and planned our Vegas trip. We're leaving on Monday. Back on Thursday. We're really going to have fun.
I'm sure the restaurant was glad to see us leave last night!! We were loud and no one had too much to drink....just lots to say!! LOL!
My son is coming down tonight. I'm so thankful he'll be here. Today marks 2 years since my husband passed away. Hard to believe it's been that long.
I had a great time with Leo and his mothers last weekend.
Everyone have a nice weekend.

Hi Gwyn!

Peggy, sounds like you've about got that afghan licked! I still haven't picked mine up to finish. Enjoy your visiting!!

Merri, it really was a huge surprise - had NO idea. Usually I pick up on things, but not this time. But then she said she didn't plan it till about two days before, so that probably helped. LOL

Looks like our weather is going to cool down a lot, lows in the 30's, highs in the 50's after the next day or so. Raining up by the lake, but not here. Hope to get a walk in a bit later.

Have a good day everyone!

I only have half of a side to do and I'm finished with Lily's afghan.

It's Archives day and we couldn't go for our walk because it's raining. maybe when I get back from visiting my girlfriend Bev.

We are leaving to drive back to Florida one week from today so I have to get lots more visiting down before I leave.

Brenda pulled off a huge surprise tonight. Thought we were going to dinner with her and Jim and ended up being about 25 people! Many of our grandkids, some of our dearest friends, one of my foster sons and his family - what a special night it was!!

Brenda finally got a call from the doctor today - she has gallstones and he wants her to follow up with a surgeon. Hopefully it won't be something she has to do right away. I have gallstones but they told me unless they really bother me to just leave them alone.

Andrea has to see a hematologist next week for her low blood count. Hoping it won't be anything serious.

Seems there's always something to worry about!

Didn't do much today, went down to my neighbors to take her some eggs and cider, then mailed some stuff. Made Eggplant Parmasan, salad and Apple pie for my parents dinner and took it up and ate with them. I am allowing my fitbit to charge up for a while then I will go do chores.

I have to go to my Family Dr tomorrow and get lab work done, I guess I go to the hematologist next week. My appointment is at 4:30, kind of late in the day. I will have to go back to Millinocket again Friday to get my truck done.

Was an unseasonably warm day here, in the high 70's I had to open the windows because it was warmer out there then in the house lol!

Hope everyone is having a great evening!

I visited my sister Mary and brother in law Bob tonight and they both had gone to the hospital today he for radiation and she got some shot that she gets every 3 weeks and it makes her sick. Bob for the first time since July went grocery shopping/ He always did all of the grocery shopping and he was exhausted when he got home.
I brought them over some hamburger soup for tomorrows dinner.

Annie - good idea to put that doggy fence up! I think a coyote got Andrea's cat last year!

Brenda got a call from the doctor's office today. The ultrasound showed gallstones. Not surprised, I have them too. They told me not to worry about mine unless they started causing severe pain. I had the one episode that sent me to ER a few years ago - that's when they found them, but haven't really had any issues since. He wanted her to see a surgeon to get an opinion on whether it needs taken care of now or not. She's not in a lot of pain, just an occasional "pinching." So she sees the surgeon next Wednesday.

Andrea has an appt. with a hematologist because her blood work showed her really low on iron. Not sure when she goes. Tomorrow she has to take her car to get the appraisal for repair where someone hit her last week and never said anything - just left!

Always something, isn't it???

Joyce:
my SIL said she has been coming to the coast to the cabin since 1950 and has NEVER seen a black bear here. !!
so
that made my sighting even MORE special..
DH did go out and put up a dog fence in our back yard so Pepper can only go a few ft. to have his last 'potty' break at 10 P.M.
