Last week I picked up the Reebok Weighted Core balls that were on sale at Target and started doing the core & total body workouts included with the DVD. Let me just say--W-O-R-K-O-U-T!! Those 30 mins had me sweating and reaching for my water bottle, but I felt great after I completed it. Also, I got in cardio and strength training every day of the week and rested on Sat and Sun. My eating was on point except I noticed I was consuming more sodium than I would like. I was under the recommended limit each day, but just barely and I can tell. Feels like I am retaining some water. I will work on that this week. I did my weekly weigh-in yesterday and I lost 1.5 lbs and several inches off my body. I would call the week a success! Taking this one day at a time!

Got the Les Mills COMBAT workout system. Entirely martial arts based. Did the first workout, 30 minutes, sweating felt great, every muscle a little tired. This is going to be a neat workout!

I'm just joining in, but if I look back on the past week, everything was good. I did two yoga classes, two dance classes, one athletic interval class, 30 min of weight training, and two days swam for an hour each. Eating is getting better, as I have started seeing a naturopath, plus geting advice from another, as I have breast cancer for the second time in three years. So, I am almost neurotic about everything I put in my mouth - not for the calories as much as "what".

In response to the question about honey vs sugar - yes, avoid either if you can, but when you need a sweetener, honey is better for several reasons. It is sweeter than sugar, so you use less. It is less processed than sugar. And, the glycemic index is lower. Refer to the following information:
"Floral honeys tend to have the lowest GIs, so use them to sweeten the foods you eat. According to the Glycemic Index Database, locust honey has a GI of 32, yellow box honey has a GI of 35 and stringy bark honey has a GI of 44. Other honeys release their energy faster and are classed as medium on the glycemic index. These tend to be the commercial blends, clover honey which has a GI of 69 and pure honey which has a GI of 58." Sugar has a GI of 60.

Backslid once on my meals. Trying to stay consistant with my exercising. Walking at work on breaks, doing Wii Fitness at home. I know I need to do more, I just need a 'kick' to do it.

Week one was excellent for me in both the eating and exercise department. I made myself leave work on time every day last week so that I could make sure to get my exercise in either at the gym or the park. Week 2 is starting off to be just as successful. I am faithfully tracking my food every day and staying within the limits for protein, carbs, calories, and fat. So far so good for me. Taking this one day at a time!

The last two days I've been traveling to different locations with high school students on field trips and to a tournament. However, I did eat healthy while on the road, but I really had no choice for lunch or supper. It was the suppers that did me in on both days.
But do to an extreme amount of walking, and going up and down many stairs, and drinking water like a thirsty camel, I actually ended up losing 2 pounds.
Still need to catch up on a lot of sleep.
It's Saturday here in the Ozarks, enjoy your week-end!

I'm afraid honey is every bit as bad as sugar. Both calorie wise, and for your teeth! I know its a natural product, but so are some of the strongest poisons known to humanity.

Week 2 was a little rough due to family emergency. I started off good then lost a few days and wrapped up the week with renewed effort. I know what I need to do, I just need to stick with it!

This week was much better, I am hoping to do even better this week. One question though how healthy is honey, when you take it in your tea instead of sugar?

Doing better exercising!
I always hated calorie tracking. But after 'playing' around with the SP tracker, no problems. So far calories aren't too bad, really need to watch my carbs though and up my daily fiber.

I did well on burning calories last week. I will try to keep that going. My food was healthy, but since I don't track calories, I don't know if I was within SP limits. I'm not sure how to track the calories burned per week on my other goals page, as that is a daily input.

I really didn't get the exercise in the first week - traveling for work is tough and I was behind on work. Now I am working remote this week and need to be better disciplined at making my 8 hours of work productive AND making it a priority to exercise. I am not sure if everyone's Easter was as bad as mine, but tomorrow will be a new start and a chance to get back on track. Have a great week everyone!

For me, this week was much better than last week. I worked out more and did pretty well with the quality and content of my calories. I will admit that there were a few days when I overly indulged in unhealthy foods, but I look forward to eating healthier this weeks.

Overall, I need to stick with my workout schedule and abide by my nutrition plan at least one more day this week than I did last week! lol
