I walked over a mile yesterday, used treadmill, elliptical, and bike for 10 minutes each. I haven't missed logging my food for over two months. I returned to SparkPeople a couple of weeks ago and joined challenges to include this one, to keep my eye on the target. I have almost 100 pounds to lose, and I need to stay motivated and this challenge is great thing.

Mark 10:27
Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."

I worked out for an hour at the gym this morning then soaked in the hot tub for 20 minutes. Yard work for about an hour, now off to hunt eggs in my yard with the grand babies.
hope everyone will have an enjoyable healthy Easter.

I have been tracking my nutrients keeping as many as I can within the ranges and there are a couple I would like to be able to get closer to within the recommended daily requirements like magnesium and potassium and calcium so that is what I am focusing on for awhile until I figure out the foods that I like that also give me the most of these nutrients. Been eating a lot of spinach, beans and red rice and I am constantly looking for alternatives that are just as nutritious.

To me HEALTH means Energy. Stamina. Flexibilty. A relatively pain free body. Enjoying healthy food. You are your body, and your weight loss efforts will succeed exactly to the extent that you mange to do the work on behalf of your embodied self. Youll do much better when you focus on making positive changes to improve your health and well-being, rather than on fighting your bad habits.

Joining in to get a little extra support and motivation to stay on the right path. I'm following a modified version of the "Protein Power" diet while also being mindful of my calories. I work out 3 days a week with a Personal Trainer and trying to make it back to the gym/workout at home 2 additional days a week. I need to make sure I'm drinking my water and consistently taking my supplements as well. Looking forward to the challenge with you all!

Looking forward to joining this team. Currently, I'm doing the 10 minute a day challenge for 4 weeks. This will overlap so I can continue my streak of consistent exercise.

Thanks AY_BEAUTIFUL for the new challenge ideas. It will all help. So glad fall is here. I am already doing much better. I did get a long walk in today, but did not do intervals. The last time I thought about jogging, I fell flat on the concrete the minute I started. Love all your suggestions! This is a great team.

Ok, I just read my emails. I need to do the Base Assessment, but am on my way to work ( a 12 hour nightshift), so that'll have to be later this week. For me the challenge will be getting the 6 hours of "exercise" per week, but I will be sure to exercise 4 days per week.
Thanks for this nice challenge team!! emoticon

I just joined the other day, haven't really figured out what to do- but will be reading up and doing the challenge. I'm 57, picked up an extra 40 pounds since turning 40 now down 15 and need to keep going. I've been following low carb; It's the easiest way of eating for me, and my cravings for sweets has disappeared.

Visited granbabies, got granbaby flu, lost track of this challenge, so. . .
Wk 7, day 4.
I found strength training that works for me, and almost enjoy it.
I've continued with cardio.
I'm at a weight plateau, but trying not to allow the scale to define who I am (not easy)!

This looks like something I've been looking for; we'll see. I hate strength training, and I need motivation. Two days a week shouldn't be hard to do, but I'd rather do cardio. Here goes, I'm committed to strength train tomorrow -- gosh can't decide before or after lunch. Gack!

I will work out 6 times a week. 2 days will be strength, the rest cardio.
Today is my long run day. The goal is to burn 2500 calories a week. We can do this!

I've done a great job of walking everyday for a long time. I want to incorporate more biking and strength training into each week. Eventually I want to be biking 3 times a week and strength training 3 times a week. For now I'll make sure I do those things twice a week, as I add them in with my walking program.

Another thing I'm working on is my sleep. I'm trying to get my bed time earlier so I can get up earlier. That means getting off the computer much earlier!

I'm going to focus on exercising 4x a week and getting 64 oz. of water a day. I'll start there and modify as I I go along.

I am just starting today. Goals may be modified, but here is initial plan:

I am going to be within my calorie ranges for 6 out of 7 days each week.

I am going to do *some sort* of exercise 6 days a week (even if it's just walking one of my dogs).

I am going to make at least 4 of my exercise days be an actual workout (rigorous hike, bike ride, treadmill, whatever), and do strength training at least twice a week to start.

I will go to the gym at least two of those days. (I like exercising outside a lot, and I feel silly being on the treadmill inside when my dog wants exercise, too!). But at the gym I can use their weight machines, etc.

I will print out a calendar and keep track of my goals.....maybe I should buy some stickers for myself! (Yes, I'm a teacher :p ).

Here's the goals I've set for myself. Sorry it's taken me so long to post this. I needed to track a couple of weeks to see what I needed to do better at.
Keeping up with the water is an issue for me. I have committed to exercising 5 days a week instead of the 2-3 times a week that Ive been doing. In addition to walking and bicycling I am now taking day hikes 2-3 times a month. I have also started doing a spark exercise daily. My exercise routine has grown stale and needs some shaking up. I also need to work harder at planning my daily meals and sticking to it. I start out with good intentions breakfast and lunch are successful then my afternoon snack and dinner are a disaster.

Try keeping a bottle of large glass of water handy in the evenings. Whenever you think you feel a little hungry, or the urge to snack sneaks up on you, grab the bottle of water and take as much as you can. Try for at least 8 ounces. This will help to trick your brain into thinking that the stomach is "full" again. This always helps me to get past the touch spots in the evenings.

I'm joining this challenge because I have been inconsistent in meeting my healthy goals. I would like to exercise 5 days a week. I'm drinking 6 glasses almost every day, but I would like to eat more servings of fruits and veggies each day.

I used a 'Clean Eating' shopping list this week. Decided to make a clean break: not only did I buy clean, but I also got in and really cleaned out and in my refrigerator. That's one job I've been avoiding. Threw away a bunch of left-overs that had become something other than what they were. Even took some canned goods to our local food pantry.
Now I'm using SP's daily menu to help with my eating right.

Chow, Baby! Or is it Ciao, Bebe'?

I am going to incorporate exercise back into my daily schedule--at least 30 mins 3-4x/wk. I also will work on planning out my meals for the week on Sunday so I don't have the excuse of not having time during my busy work week to cook and get the right amount of fruits and veggies in my diet. I will also work on getting 7-8 hrs of sleep nightly as so far this yr I have been operating on more like 4-5 per night.

Slow and steady wins the race...taking my time this go round

To be honest, at one stage it was around 2 glasses most nights! I've cut back a lot and now have wine just at the weekend and spend a little more on the bottle so that it is more of a treat. I've has just fruit and salad so far today but am making a lasagne for dinner so might have a glass of red with that.

Wine's good for you - in moderation, of course. I like to have a glass of wine with dinner each evening. It's my relaxing treat to myself. So as long as you get in the water, I see no problem with a glass of wine.

So, tomorrow is start day.
Today I've set the bar on the treadmill to get the 2500cals burned per week 1x40mins and 1x45mins per day to start. Today that achieved 378 calories. I hope over time to reduce the time by building speed but still achieving the burn.
Shopping has been delivered. A good amount of fruit, salad stuffs and veg - I love raw veg so quite happy to snack on that each day!
The other mantra needs to be - "less wine more water"!!!!!

Maybe scheduling a healthy snack at that time? Some veggies or something, just track it with the rest of your day and know that one of your snacks in the day will be then. I've had to fight the evening munchies too. Sometimes if I drink a big glass of water instead I can be satisfied - this after reading that sometimes our body interprets thirst as hunger. Best of luck!

I will be working out with my Wii Fitness programs, and walking. However, I will really need support with my late night EATING! I know I'm not hungry at that time, but I eat anyway.

I am going to re-invest in my spark streaks. 3 streaks that I set up for myself are no jelly beans, don't buy anything from the vending machine and don't eat anything in the car when I am by myself. I have abandoned those for the past few (ok several) weeks and want to re-start those.

I am pretty consistent with exercise (getting in 30-60minutes everyday) and drinking water. What I need to really focus on is eating well. I make terrible choices and then deal with the overeaters guilt and gut.

My goals will be to drink 64 oz of water daily, exercise 10-30 mins a day and eat mostly low fat vegan food that I make myself. If I want a pizza, no Domino's - I get to make a low fat vegan pizza. If I want a burger, no Two Guys (my favorite burger place), I get to make a low fat vegan burger and fries.

Good Luck to all!

My goal is to keep my current streaks going for the next 60 days and then reward myself with a spark goodie once i have made my streak. 10-30 minutes of exercise every day, drink 8 cups of water minimum per day, get 8 hours of sleep a day, get up without the snooze button at least 3 times a week, log into sparkcoach everyday. Seems like a lot, but it's becoming habitual!!!

Since I am in my 70th week of maintaining, I plan to keep doing pretty much what I have been doing! I do have to share a funny story with you though!!!!

For years I have eaten around 1000 calories/day...Now on the advice of my oncologist and SP I am able to get 1200/day! I still feel like I am guilty of not watching what I am eating! Part of that is that I have been so inactive...Now I have found exercises that I can do, so that is helping at least some! But guess what at 1200 calories I am losing weight! (Just as folks at SP have been telling us about) Thought you might enjoy hearing this!!!!!

I am going to focus on consistency. My goals are to complete 3 cardio workouts per week and 2 strength training workouts (at least 30 minutes of each). I will also track my food each day, especially on the weekends. I am going to start out trying to eat 2 servings of veggies each day but will increase that number as needed. My last goal is to wake up without snoozing 6 days a week.

Hey, sorry I wasn't here when we started. Taking care of my mom.
She caught the bug I brought home last weekend (just got over it).
I am going to do 30 or more minutes of exercise.
I will be doing my WIO and other Cardio videos. As well as adding yoga.
I am also going to drink 8cups or more of water and watch what I eat.
(Not too good with portion control and measuring things.)
I am going to start working on that this weekend/week as well.
Going to Captain D's for an early Birthday Celebration.
I plan on eating the steamed veggies and watching the sauces.
Hope that you guys have a great day! Holly emoticon emoticon

I do not have an issue with water as I get in easily 10 glasses a day and I have stopped drinking pop pretty much altogether. I am going to plan my meals and get in both cardio and strength exercises. Cardio at least 5 times per week and strength at least 3 times.

I plan to be more consistent with everything I do. I get my exercise in 5 days at the most, but sometimes I slack and maybe get in 3 days, which is still good, but I want to continue to see results. I plan to continue to eat healthy and not over eating. I want to see results consistently not just one week I see great results, then the next week I don't so I plan to stay on track and be consistent.

God gives me the strength to endure and he restores me daily.

Hi, I'm Jean!

Since I have been diagnosised with cancer and I am a vegetarian, I want to be sure that I do everything possible to have a healthy lifestyle! I track everything I eat and fitness daily! You will have to let me be Gram Jean as I am somewhat limited in what I can do...but believe me I use every moment to do all I can do!

Feel free to check out my SP page including trackers! And thanks for letting me be a part of this team!!!!!

Hi. I want to incorporate more whole wheat and greens in the health Challenge. I also want to replace breakfast or lunch with a protein shake. As for exercise I want to increase the intensity of the workout by working out to dvd's like insanity.

Hello all!

I think it's important that we prepare ourselves to do this 60 day challenge. We need to prepare mentally and also write out our individual plans of action. What exercises will you do? What will your meals consist of? We need to ask ourselves these questions, and perhaps other questions, so that we can be successful! So, what will you do to prepare?
