New week!
New month coming tomorrow!
Time to redo my exercise plan and get a new start on outdoor walking. this week I plan on getting outside for at least a 10 minute walk daily.

This week I plan to get in at least 7,000 steps daily (when I'm at work I usually log in over 10,000, but on my days off just over 5,000)

I plan to bike for 20 mins. min. 4 times
Mon. March 31 - biking 20 mins emoticon 7,205 steps emoticon
April 1 - 11,181 steps, 15 mins. pilates emoticon
I plan to get in some strength training this week at least 15 mins. 4 times

Pilates in between for a good stretch

Is anyone else tired of snow? We had another 15 or so cms last night and the roads were icy this morning. Anyway we all got out for the day - different jobs, different modes of transport, but we all got where we were going safely and now at the end of the day we are all back home safely.
Isn't it grand to come home at the end of a busy day to see loved ones home safely too.

Hope all on the team is facing February with a determination to continue on this healthy living journey.

Thanks team for the support.
It's been a busy week and my weight is starting to go down again which is a good thing. The girls are having roller coaster days emotionally and the best thing to do is move. To get them walking I walk too so it's good for all of us.

I will be so glad to see spring coming this year. Even the days of mud might be good for a change from this snow.

Hope everyone is starting out this brand new month with S.M. A. R. T goals.

A weekend of moving = walking, lots of steps, and early bedtimes. Starting to settle into this new routine. I'm eating less because I'm busy too.

Thanks to both of you. It looks like this is going to be a permanent change. My grand children were removed from their home because of neglect and abuse so they will not be going back there. Unfortunately things like this happen and it is so difficult for the children. But we are adjusting and the girls both seem to be getting less fearful about their enviroment.
It is so unfortunate that sometimes parents don't think through changes in partners.


Anyway hope everyone is keeping on moving. Today I went coasting with the youngest grand daughter. This could be a good thing for me as I will get more and different exercise now.

There have been some major changes in my life recently so now I need to settle into a new routine and get back on track.

On Jan. 6 two of my grand daughters moved in with me. Now I find myself getting an 8 year old and a 14 year old up in the mornings for school, then preparing for the evenings of homework, social activities and all that goes with it.

Two wonderful special reasons to be healthy and fit but oh what a change. It has been 15 years since we have had children waiting for the school bus.

home 7PM TODAY. pROCEDURE WENT WELL. DH AND I NOTICE BIG IMPROVeMENT EVEN THOUGH CURRENT hEART FUNCTIO onlY 24% (-sorry didb't realize in caps but no computer today and no cell at hosp but trying to do this on cell now. very tired - long day but feeling great. have high hopes even though this won't fix previous damage only make it easier for heart to function. hope all is well. more later.

Hope everyone is staying safe in frigid temperatures, snowstorms, icy conditions and now flu season has started.

Spring is coming!!!!!

Meanwhile, we can exercise indoors, and eat lots of homemade chicken noodle soup.

Thanks! Yes, I'm just walking. Went to my primary care physician today, he's put me on antibiotics for UTI and bronchitis, and is sending me for a chest Xray to make sure it's not pneumonia and an ultrasound of the carotid arteries. At least it's not supposed to be so frigid subzero cold around here the rest of the week. It was FREEZING out there today!

Pumped to be starting a new year and a new week! My daughter and grandkids were in from Atlanta over the weekend, which made it a great weekend for me. Sucking down my first glass of water, then I'm going to walk down to the gym in my apt. building and get in some cardio. Normally I would walk outside but since my heart attack, I was told to avoid extremes of cold so the treadmill it is! I hope you all have a wonderful Monday

Prayer for a successful procedure. I, too, ate too much over the holidays. My daughter gave me a dog for Mothers's Day. Precious, the dog , is hyper and has to be walked. Today I thanked God for the dog, because I'm forced to move. God does work in mysterious ways.Be good to yourself

I haven't been doing so well -healthwise or lifestyle change either - I've eaten too much and too many of the wrong things (salty and sweet) and I've had very little exercise - nor do I have the energy to do anything much. My surgical procedure has been rescheduled for 8 Jan. and although they tell me it won't make my heart better only make it easier for it to work, I have higher hopes than that. Have a wonderful New Year!! Ours will be quiet but one of my sisters is coming for a visit tomorrow afternoon until noon on New Year's Day. I was proofreading this and fell asleep! I think about an hour ago - geesh it was a lot more than that - I was eating my lunch as well as working on here and half of that is still on the plate - think I'll just go get rid of that - have a good one! I better get in gear here and clean the sheets on the bed my sister will be using. My DH will vacuum but tomorrow morning I'll run a duster over things. I'm not going to worry about food - we'll have to sort that out when she arrives. I have a lot of diet restrictions and know she is on some no carb diet right now so we'll have to see what she can or will eat. Not sure how she'll work in a dinner out which she always wants - nor how I will but will have to be careful. I overdid enough on Christmas Day - I hope others did better, Happy New Year and all the wonderful things that lie ahead!

I did well in the eating area on Christmas day and kept very busy but today is an off day and I have been lazy today. Tomorrow I hope to get back on track with walking in LOTS of snow. That should be a good workout.

the funny thing about the computer problems is after I sent a log of some of the comments and windows I was getting, I got a reply from the tech people that it is a problem with my computer not SparkPeople's equipment, yet immediately after, the problems all disappeared. hmmmmm ...
