I've lost 49 pounds since January...I really want to hit that 50 pound mark! lol so I weigh 316, I want to lose another 17 pounds so I will be under the 300 pound mark. And I want to get back into the gym. I was going regularly, but then I switched to night shift but I'm on days right now for orientation...then back to nights starting next Tuesday...so the gym hasn't been happening or I'd have lost that 1 silly pound! :)

Mine were to fit into a pair of pants I hadnt been able to fit into in a couple of years by the end of summer. I did that! Now, I want to have to buy all new clothes before I go back to work in August and get completely off one of my meds.

I thought about a new goal for myself last night that is actually working out perfectly. In mid-August Godsmack is playing at Band Camp in Madison, WI. Starting today, I'm working my ass off to go. I'm going to start saving up for tickets, and if I lose 15 pounds by August I'm going to go. I'm also going to do the exercises my physical therapist has prescribed every day between now and then so I can handle the crowd!

Healthy snacking throughout the day, any excuse for exercise, pack a lunch for the office (no more fast food), and continue to be a nonsmoker!

I need to severely cut down on my soda intake. I drink a 2 liter Coke a day. Not good, but so hard to not do!

I'm working on the first 15. I'm down 9! I am going to watch my intake more closely and get under the suggested calorie/fat/choles./sodium #'s. I'm cutting down one more soda per day. (I was drnkg 6 per day, I'm down to 4. This week it's 3.)

My next immediate goal is to last at least 15 minutes in a row on the stair step machine.

right now my left leg starts to hurt after 10 minutes, then I take a break for 5 minutes to stretch, then finish the other 10 minutes.

I'm taking fried foods and junk food out of my diet for a while. Or at least until I lose a few pounds, then I can ease them back into my diet. Not everyday, but you know what I mean. I'm hoping to lose 30 pounds by New Year's Eve. It's not the end all be all, but losing some weight in general is better than a sedentary lifestyle, right?

My goal is to loose 15 pounds. As a reward for doing this, I'll get a new tattoo. My plan is calorie cutback, NO sodas, And walking everyday. I have a friend at work with the same goal & plan so we'll be working together on it. Once we get to the weight we want to be, then we are gonna begin weight training. We started Monday, and I have already lost a few pounds, from not drinking as many sodas. Today will be my first day without any coka-cola. Tomorrow we will begin walking- an hour a day.

Some times you have to walk through nightmares to get to your dreams.

I'm still in my fast break phase. I haven't been doing all three, which is just crazy, I know, but I'm pretty new and I know I'll get the hang of it pretty soon. Slow and steady -- that's my mantra. Before, it used to be hyperdrive and fast-results...proved to be temporary and unsatisfying in the long run.

I wish everyone all the best in your journey to becoming the all-improved "you." We all deserve it, I'd like to think.

REDHOTRS - when I first started running, I would run 1 minute, walk 1 minute for about 30-45 minutes. Then, once I was comfortable with that, I would run 2 minutes, walk 1 minute. Eventually I worked my way up to run 5, walk 1, then run 2 miles, walk 1 mile (1/2 at the beginning and 1/2 at the end). That's where I am now. I also suggest running outside with a pedometer as much as you can (opposed to always running on the treadmill)because it is very different and more like what you will experience when you run your 5K. Good luck! You can do it!

good luck with the 5K (both of you) i know you will do great. isn't it fantastic when you get to the point where you realise that your ultimate goals are actually obtainable and not just a distant dream!!! its a good feeling.

My immediate goals are to be able to run 10 minutes/walk 10 minutes and eventually build up to running a 5k. The 5k is in August. I've just started running and am finding that it does get easier the more you do it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

My goals haven't changed much since my last post. I am still preparing for my 5K in 2 weeks. I can run for 2 miles straight, but that last mile is a killer! Luckily, I still have 2 weeks, so maybe I can at least muster up another 1/2 mile, but I'm totally ok with walking a portion of the race if I need to. Before this 5K came up, I was not a runner AT ALL! I've always hated to run, but wanted to challenge myself, so here I am! And I feel so good that I've made the progress that I have made so far.

I have 13 pounds to go to reach my ultimate goal (which, honestly, I was not optimistic that I would get there at all, but now I don't have any concerns about getting there - I know I can do it!).

my goals have changed a bit, i have been so lazy but now i am getting right back into it. my only goal is to keep getting up and doing my walking everyday early in the morning. i am not going to give myself a weight loss goal just yet untill i know if my body is ready to start dropping weight again. so for now that is it. early morning walking worked for me before, lets see if i can make it work again!

Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've popped in here. My immediate goals are to be ready to run the 5K (3 miles) I've registered for in April, lose another 5 pounds by then (20 to go for my ultimate goal!), and keep up with my workout schedule (cardio 5-6 times per week, strength training 3 times per week for 45 minutes each session). Tough, but obtainable goals. Right now, I can do intervals for 2.5 miles - I walk about 1 mile, run 1.5 mile. The weather won't make up it's mind, so I'm having trouble staying consistent with my running outside. We'll see!

Hey! Yeah I have actually been thinking of setting a goal for charity walk. Then I would have to shape up to walk as far as they do.... I just danced to hip hop for the last 40 minutes. I cant wait till I look good enough to look good dancing lol... I love dancing, but Im definitely not in the same shape, It hurts now!

i started new goals this week. i am going to stick closer to the diet then i have been. do 30 mins of cardio 7 days a week and 2 days with 20 mins of strength training. i discovered i have been trying to push myself too hard and it has just set me up for disapointment. next week i am going to start new training, i am going to follow the training plan provided on spark for people who are planning to run a 5k. i don't want to go in a marathon, but i think getting in and training myself so i can run for more than 2 steps would be a good achievement. i want to lose another 10 kg by may!

Hola Ladies! So I would like to hear everyones immediate goals. Are you cutting anything out of your diet, or like me, trying to eat more meals/snacks a day? Im definetly a "One meal a day" gal. I am also trying to keep water at my side every minute of the day. Also trying to cut out coffee and replace it with tea. I am trying to be as active as I can right now. Walking on smoke breaks (that sounds hilarious) and walking my boxers. Also I havent had any chocolate since valentines ;o) Future goals, continue to be improving my diet, so far that has been ok, except for the multiple meals a day thing. I would like to get down to 180 in the next 3-4 weeks, and start measuring myself, so I see the difference. I have to admit I havent been trying to hard on the physical activity.... but the weather is warming up. Now I just HAVE to do it. So my goal is to get 30+ minutes of cardio 5x a week and strength training 3x a week. So what ya working on? Have you accomplished any specific goals lately, what is next to come?
