Okay group we will always have spark and I will start the private page and invite everyone I know that is on facebook to join us over there to check in. I too am on there more than here but have a couple things like the food tracker that I still use and since my fitbit links with spark I let it record my activity, another reason I may be losing because I was able to show Liberty see I do burn way more calories in a day then you think... And now I'm on track for losing. I will go set that up right now and we can progress from there. I too would love to keep this group together after all this time.

Hey all, sorry not on here as much.. Deb I am with you on starting a private FB page, I am on there much more than on there.. the brat had a great time at prom and then.... she wreck the car or rather a deer ran into her on the way home but she was fine and the care was driveable so no worries there. .LOL.. I can't believe how grown she looked in those pictures!!!!!!!! reminded me that she is a young woman now.. she will be 18 in 2 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! eeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk...

I started my new position this past Monday and the pace is much slower for for now as I am learning and I am fine with it.. there is a trial going on this week so i am observing most of the time. the good thing is that the schedule is more predictable so I get to take the bus most of the time.. yippeee...

I have been back at my workouts in the morning.. took a break this morning since I was up late the past two nights and my body needed the rest.. I am learning to really listen to my body and not push myself and burn out :)

Jamie you've been doing wonderful in your comps!! and great job on the running Deb.

Unless you are faithful in small matters, you won''t be faithful in large ones.!!

Way to improve Deb, all that running is really paying off in reducing your times. Awesome! I have a bum right knee just from twisting the wrong way yesterday morning. Bending it is painful so I'm just taking by ibuprophen and hoping it is better by Saturday. It's irrated for whatever reason and it does this every so often. The last time it only lasted a couple of days and was better so I'm making sure to ice it and not over do. I want to be 100% and train for my next competition. I teach tonight so I can decide what moves we do so it's not effected. If I find something I don't want to do I'll have one of the guys demo the move. It's doable. I was a bit bummed and still am but it's part of the cycle of being an athlete you have good days and bad ones. My weight is up a bit but this is the never ending cycle right now so I hope once it's over it goes back to it correct number. I'll get there. Hope everyone is doing well. Sorry I don't post daily but have been really busy with work and everything. Take care.

Hey guys....so traffic here is not so great....should we start a private facebook group and try posting there? I would hate for us to fall apart after all these years, but seems it is harder and harder to come here as the only reason I log in is to check with you all? Thoughts??

Jamie...I saw on facebook that you rocked your meet this past weekend! Way to go!!

Jannice...saw the kids prom pictures...such a beautiful young lady!! Bet graduation is soon!

Sandra...hope that the knee is healed up and you are back in action...and the Prince is doing well!

I just ran my 3rd half marathon Saturday in Kansas...it was my first time traveling for a run...and I was a little nervous...was not sure my training between the last one and this one was enough as I just had about a month in between....but it was. I decided to run with a pacer group...which was a wonderful thing...I managed to come in just shy of the 2:35 pace group time at 2:34:33 or something like that...and it was about 8 minutes faster then my April run....and 15 minutes faster then my first half marathon in October...so pretty awesome to see times dropping like that!

Hope everyone is doing ok!

Deb

I had a very busy weekend with a lot of lawn work completed, we plan to paint next Sunday so that will get rolling again. I have a meet on Saturday so that will be a chunk of my day but should be home by about 4 or so. We did get the car out of storage this past week and was able to get it out and running, it runs great as usual. It's the t not my race car. LOL
I kind of rested yesterday after walking over 20,000 steps on Saturday and over 17,000 on Sunday, I needed it. I did go to kettlebell class and did my best. I hope all goes a lot better at the actual meet then it did this past weekend. I'm getting a bit tired of the virtual meets because no one wants to get started they all screw around way too much. I'm going to put a stop to that with some ground rules. We are going to get started earlier and have people prepped and ready to go. Otherwise they go first and just have to suck it up. I am down 2 more pounds this am, which is awesome, I might see my next number sooner than I thought. WOOHOO!!! The reduced training has really helped. I teach tonight and plan on class tomorrow then have Thursday off and Friday. I want to be ready for the meet. I might even plan on taking a few days off the following week to get rested and ready to go. Hope everyone has an awesome Tuesday.

Hey guys...

Busy weekend...no running though. I had 8 miles scheduled and just no time. Had a day of pampering on Friday...got my hair done (no more long ponytail!) and then lunch and a massage from my boss with the rest of the office ladies...then DH and I went to dinner with his folks...it was late when we got home.

Saturday we volunteered at a church function...it was a family fun festival that kind of bombed due to the cold weather, but it was more importantly a food drive and that went SO well...two van fulls of food collected...it was awesome! After that we grabbed a late lunch then went home and took a nap...I stayed up late watching the Blues hockey game...until my eyes told me it was bedtime regardless if the game was still on!

Sunday was church, bible studies, then a WW function. It was a fashion show and someone from our meeting was selected to be in it...so I went...it was not well organized, but I am glad I went.

This week will go by fast...gonna be leaving town Friday...and running half marathon #3 on Saturday!

Deb

Sorry could have sworn I posted but not sure what happened.... Anyways great job on getting back on track and getting those numbers down, you'll be lower in no time.

Jannice I hope you job didn't change too much and you still enjoy it.

The flooding has receeded and now the repairs begin. We have a lot of new work and one is even a car friend who's garage was flooded, thankfully he had flood insurance and was up to date. He lost a lot of motors and tools. He's actually having my company GRBR take care of the repairs so that's also a good thing. Hoping that when it rains it's not 3-4 inches in an hour anytime soon. There are places downtown the residence haven't been allowed back in because of all the vehicles that were under water and the clean up. They have been displaced since the main rain. I saw today were Colorado had a blizzard and it could move to upper Michigan, hope it's not rain down here... We had one small leak in our basement and Karl is still trying to fix it, the local hardware and home improvement have been out of the cement for over two weeks since the storm. Would be nice to get that repaired.

The weather has been beautiful the past few days though, went from snowing last Wednesday to 80's, got to love Michigan weather. Hope the warmer weather is here to stay and we can keep the stove off, that would be great.

Hope all is well with everyone, I plan on getting in a nice walk once getting home with my newly groomed fur babies, I'll have to take pictures and post them. We had Misty shaved down so she is tangle free for the summer and can grow back her fur. Rusty was shaved down as well and is our little red haired dog again, all his blonde highlights were shaved off, he looks so darn cute.

Have a wondeful Wednesday.

No posts since mine on Monday? Oh well...you get two in a row from me!

Yesterday was a rest day...I needed it. I did have WW, and I did lose...so now I have just under 4 pounds to lose to get back to my WW low weight and continue on down the scale...funny how in 3 weeks almost 7 pounds came back on! Oh well...taking care of things now hopefully!

I got in a 3 mile run this morning...it was nice enough I actually got to wear my new running skirt...and I love it. SO comfy on...and lots of room to carry stuff...so that is good to know! I only ordered one because it was pricey...so will get another one now!

Will have to get my runs in early in the mornings as I have Blues hockey play off tickets for tomorrow night! And then Friday I have a day of pampering...getting my hair done, and then will have lunch and a massage treated by my boss....very nice! So first day off will be one of pampering...I think I can handle that!

Hope everyone is doing ok!

Deb

Hey guys...I kind of took a week away from the computer and posting on weight loss and exercise stuff...not a huge break workout wise, but a little...I sat Mon and Tues last week...and forced a 3 miler Wednesday before I allowed myself to go home...Thursday I ran with my niece, which ended up being more walking then running, which had I known, I would have ran that morning...oh well....

My niece and I did the Color Run this past Saturday...it was a dreary rainy nasty day....so we ended up walking most of it...but either way I was proud of her...it was her first 5k and she is 12 years old...it was fun doing it with her and I will look for some other fun 5ks for us to do together....one advantage of the weather was she did not want to hang out long....too cold with us wet!

Weather did not co-operate on getting my 10 miler done on Sunday...so I got up and hit the trail this morning....it kicked my rear...sigh. For some reason 10 miles always does...I have yet to hit a good 10 miler training run and this was my 3rd one....I pushed and finished the miles however slow I did it....so I am proud of that anyways!

Jamie...congrats on getting more classes and on the losses!! I know how hard you work for that, so you deserve it! I finally am getting back on track so I hope I will have a loss tomorrow night at WW...I gained a little over 7 pounds in 3 weeks...so time to get that back off and back to business!

Jannice...so do you like your new job? Lots going on in your mornings....I am not a morning person, so I admire you!

Talk later!

Deb

Well I'm down 14 as of Friday so that's even better, I've hit my groove, I gained almost two pounds of muscle and lost 12 pounds of fat which was great. The only issue is I'm not absorbing the nutrients from my food like I should which could be due to the loss but needs to come back in line. This could mean I'm allergic to something I'm eating which I've changed what I eat so it's a crap shoot at best. My numbers went from 6.8 to 6.3 which means I went down .5 and it has Liberty a little worried however she said it should come back up once I hit goal which is still at least 20 weeks away, if I'm realistic about it. I am also teaching the intro classes now, so I get to meet all the new students as well, which has increased my class size from about 4 to 10 on most Tuesdays, we are talking about adding Thursday for the summer and that would be my class slot as well, this could be a lot of fun. I guess students tell her I'm a lot harder than she is that's why they come to class. I don't know how that's possible other than I do the workouts with the class and keep pushing them to go for it. It's all good. I should have some really nice tank top arms this year from all the training I'm doing. Selina is also starting to train with us, she actually started with me back over two years ago, than dropped out, which is when Jerry stopped coming. She wants to get muscle definition and look like she could compete in physique now. I think she only has 6 pounds to lose but will need the muscle to have the definition, I know the training has really brought this out for me. Well hope everyone else is doing well.

Jannice sometimes you need to reset to focus and find the path, I'm living proof of that. The actual daily weight ins and tracking what I ate is what helped me see how food affects me and what I needed to change. It's a process that's for sure. I actually can do 20kg windmills which is awesome.

Sandra hope the running is coming around now that the knee is better.

Deb you are doing so amazing with all your running and weight loss you should be very very proud of you, I am.

Me well I'm going to recertifiy for kettlebell instructor whatever that details and than might try for insanity certification as well. Always something.

Morning all,

well back at it.. changes all around, moving divisions at work and off to prosecuting different cases :)
Started getting back into working out early in the mornings again and trying to get that groove going.. hard since I've been out of it for so long but I need that extra push there in addition to doing my morning devotions.

Jamie that's awefull with all that flooding, praying for you all. Hope your classes went great since we all know you are such a great teacher anyway :) congrats on the weightloss that's awesome!!!

Been a bit swamped with work and all the water damages going on, my friend's house was one of the ones under water but he has flood insurance so we are taking care of him. I'm ready for the weekend. I need to get in some conditioning after class tonight some more speed sets, I have double bell trouble last night for everyone and they really enjoyed it. My intro student did awesome! He's going to be a great kettlebeller. I have another intro class next Tuesday with another friend, pretty soon I'll have everyone doing kettlebells. LOL I am down 12 pounds since starting back at my trying to lose, it's coming off again. YIPEE. I am really seeing a difference with not over training and doing the low impact in the am (Leslie walks) and two handed swings. Kinda funny last night everyone is fighting to catch their breathe but me, I'm getting very conditioned, it's all good. Hope you all have a great Wednesday.

Hey guys....took a weekend away from the computer and did not get back on yesterday...

I did an 8 mile run on Saturday...it was so nice to wake up and not rush to hit the road...waited until it warmed up just a bit...did awesome time on the run....1 hour 30 minutes...was very pleased with that, especially since there were some hills all throughout my run!

DH and grabbed lunch out then I went to the running store...found out why I have a black toenail...I am an extrememly right sided runner...does not surprise me because I am very right sided in life...so my right shoe broke down quicker...especially where the toe grips...and that is why my right toenail is now black....so got some new shoes...got fitted for some new running bras while I was there, and I left $300 poorer, but a happy camper otherwise.

Sunday I went running with my niece...she is 12 and we are doing the Color Run this weekend (if the weather holds out)...so we did 2.83 miles...she had 3 walk breaks....but I was proud of her...she did really well!

Nothing since then...took a rest day yesterday as my body called for it...and this morning I was getting ready to go out, and when I let the dogs inside, they were wet....and I just did not feel like running in the rain...so I will figure something out for after WW...that or I have 2 rest days in a row....

Sandra yes that is her and she was not completing her lock out at the top, but she has the nerve to try and supposedly correct my form... When in fact I have lock out and have not had a no count in any of the formal competitions. I seen where she struggled but I was doing my lift so I couldn't tell her while she was competing. I had mentioned that she also struggles with being very insecure about her ability. My big thing is don't complain about your results if you don't put in the work. The weird thing competition is about what you can do against yourself anyways, it's not about the other person. It's about improving your rep count, making your time and having correct form. I have been praised about my form in the snatch that I have some of the best techinque out there and I heard this from IKFF officials, so I know I have this lift, just need to build the endurance and make time. The long cycle is something I strive to get even better at but my techinque is there, just when I become fatigued it starts to suffer but everyone does this under fatigue, the issue is her form is off from the onset, not under fatigue because she's trying to race through the lift to make a number rather than perfect the technique. I have also been working on being more efficient which will also net more reps with less fatigue to overcome some of these issues. The thing is I know my weaknesses and work on getting better, not attack others because of them. I embrace the fact I'm not perfect and strive to continue to achieve more each time I compete.

It looks like we might have a bit of a reprieve from the rain the next 3 days, the water levels are down a lot compared to yesterday, we do have a leak in our basement wall however it's actually been there for a bit just realized it's back and will need to be addressed. At least we can fix it ourselves. Hoping it doesn't rain so people can start the process of cleaning up and getting back into their homes.

I'm so ready for a killer training session tomorrow. Have a great Friday everyone.

Hello ladies!

Jamie I'm enjoying reading your post regarding your x-virtual partner. Is that the same one that was shown with you on facebook? If so I totally saw the difference in her form. I was like wait a minute Jamie is following through at the top but this girl is doing a lot of twisting to get hers up. Tell me this is the same girl.

They are looking for it to storm here a little later today. They've cancelled all after school activities.

I got up this morning and got in 1 hour of uphill walking on the treadmill.

Deb I hear you on the whole Boston thing, it's hard not to think about all those people and why would someone do this?

I also am at such a loss with this particular person who is so bent on pointing out my flaws compared to hers. The weird thing is she's a natural athlete and if she applied herself she would be able to do the moves correctly, but I think sometimes those who don't have to work at it don't and then complain when the results aren't what they expect. I have to really work at it and try to give my all when I compete, the funny thing other then the virtuals she has not competed and when she started to rip into my technique I did point out I have done 3 competitions and have been told my form was great, so she might want to just worry about her and I'll worry about me. I was so ticked. She has done this before in the middle of class started to call me out about my technique and I pointed out she wasn't the instructor that time, I think we will just steer clear of each other for a while. I had a student complain in front of Liberty last night they don't like her workouts either. What do you do really? Liberty can address that issue, I know there has been complaints before about her so that could explain her being insecure, but the students don't know her because she comes to class very infrequently and they don't know how to take her approach because she can do things with ease and they struggle and she doesn't know how to break it down and show them how to do things. Oh well. It is what it is. I will just keep doing me and she can keep doing her. I need a weekend. Have a good and hopefully dry day. We are being flooded all around here and there are calling for a state of emergency in several areas because people's basements are filling with water (we have had over 6 inches of rain in less than a day) so it's been a very active day. Take care and hope everyone rocks out their workouts.

Deb I'm sure how much to fundraise but when I did the half I had to raise at lease $500 because I registered late. In the past if you register on time you didn't have to raise funds. But I think I heard someone say something about requiring all to fundraise. I think it's good because it's sure for a good cause.

Hey guys...a happy CPA is here...tax season is OVER!!!

Monday which is normally a slow day...was not so slow...I reviewed returns all darn day...but left at 5:15 and was done...unfortunately I had a life coach training session at 8pm...so DH and I went out to dinner then I went to that...

Yesterday was WW...and no, not good...these last 2 weeks of tax season was not good at all weight wise...but I was running less due to my taper prior to the half, and recovery this last week....plus ice cream every afternoon, and eating out a lot...but things should get back in line now that I am cooking and running more etc...I hope I can get the 6 pounds I gained off in two weeks like it came on!

The horrible tragedy of the Boston marathon has made me so very sad...I am definitely a runner, and an event as iconic as Boston....just sadness....I ran yesterday for 26.2 minutes in honor of Boston...and just continue to think about them as I train....

So hopefully like will be balancing out soon...I have just a few more weeks until my next half marathon which is May 11th...crazy.

And I think I am officially a runner now that I will most likely lose my big toe nail :( It somehow got bruised under the nail during my half on April 7th...and I think now I am pretty sure I will lose the nail....figures, right when it is time to wear cute sandels!

Sandra...Thanks for the heads up on registering quickly...do you know how much you need to fundraise? Sounds like you have a great walking and running buddy in Prince!

Jamie...I hate when people compare themselves to others...I have a friend who does that...and I just wish she would stop...to me running, and kettle bells etc...it is a competition against yourself...do better then last time and you win...period! But it is awesome you have great form :)

Deb

Sandra it sounds like Prince is getting social manners down which is a great thing. Misty is just starting to mellow out at 4 that she is actually fun to take for walks. When she wants to she is a very smart dog.

Today was walking with two handed swings with my 22kg bell, I can get my heart rate over 160 doing this so that's good, try to do this at least 6 times to have the heart rate level higher. I'm hoping to see a loss this week, I was back down this am and ate healthy for dinner and plan to go and get a really healthy lunch. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday.

Good morning ladies!

Prince and I have been getting in some walking/jogging days. Yesterday after work I took him on the river and we did 2 miles. It was in the low 80's and I worked up a good sweat. Prince was tired, I took water with me and kept giving him some, but when we made it back around to the car there was a lady with kids and she had a big bag of ice. She gave prince some ice and OMG he loved that. He actually rolled over on the ice, and he was so friendly to her children. He let them rub him. I said to myself now if that was the grandkids he'll be jumping all on them and trying to nibble at their feet. But he did really good and stayed right by my side the majority of the time.

This morning I got up and did 30 min. of upper and lower body weight training.

Hi ladies well had kind of a fall out with the lady I was doing the virtual with, it would seem she is very insecure and feels the need to attack me because I'm actually starting to surpass her in weight in competition as far as number of lifts. I guess she reviewed her lifts with Liberty who pointed out that her jerk is not correct and needs lots of work, she doesn't lock out at the top to get actual rep count and somehow this was projecteted on to me Friday. I guess Liberty pointed out how I lock out at the top and need to work on the left side to make sure I'm not doing a push press but I do lock out. The weird thing is Luanne is a natural athelet and can pretty much do whatever with ease, I on the other hand have to work to improve and do things. But I think that's exactlty the point I work and keep pushing myself where she relys on her natural ability and doesn't train. I guess you get out of it what you put into it. This has happened before where she is concerned, she starts trying to tell me what I need to improve on than we have a virtual and I usually have more reps and better time... I explained Friday I already have a coach and if I wanted her input I'd ask for it and maybe she should worry about her and let me worry about me. She needs to deal with her insecurity and move on. I know my weaknesses that's why I'm working with Jerry to get better and improve.

Anyways that's what happened and it really bugged me that Liberty was going over my lift with her but what she was really doing was explaining how my techinque is better and I keep working on it to be more efficient. Weird I know.

Deb I hear you about not wanting to move some days, I was stressed this weekend with Karl getting all worked up about the cars and I was exhausted but than I wake up not being able to sleep getting worked up about everything. I think him and me need to sit down and come up with a game plan that does not include car things for my car this month. I'm good with that. We need to work on his car and getting that done. Hope all is well with everyone today and you have a great Monday. I need a weekend without plans and just mellow... LOL

good morning ladies. Prince and I went out and got in a 3 mile jog walk. it felt so good to add a little jogging into my workout .

Deb yeah I was scheduled for the St. Jude marathon. I'm hoping that I'm ready for at least the 5k or half by this December. one thing about this race is you have to register as soon as it opens because it fills up fast.

Sorry for the lack of check in...last minute rush for tax season...so been busy and just not made it here.

I am exhausted...so glad this is a recovery week for running...though I did have 3 miles yesterday....and then 6 this morning...there was no part of me that wanted to climb out of bed this morning to get it done...but I did...I even did a 4.5 loop knowing if I was really not digging it I could stop there...but I added my mile and a half loop into the park and back to make it a full six....

I also really do not want to be at work...I have been here from 9am to 9pm most days this week...and I am really quite done with taxes....not with the ones I need to get done unfortunately....and I most likely will be here tomorrow as well in case my boss needs me...the only good part is I absolutely KNOW I will have a full weekend next weekend!

Have a toenail issues...I somehow bruised my big toe nail during the half on Sunday...no issues training, or in my last half...so no clue...I hope I do not lose the nail...I know it is a runners thing, but it is also coming up on summer and cute sandel season....oh well...the things we do for fitness!

Sandra...was the full marathon you were supposed to do the St. Jude one? I am debating signing up to run that in some capacity....Memphis would be a nice little weekend away....

Jamie....I did think you could keep going....but I understand in putting your all in and also smart training and not over extending yourself!

Jannice...I know you are proud of Khione and her achievements as she is going into graduate...your posts on facebook make me smile...you raised a smart kid!

Talk to you all later!

Deb

I hear you on the rain, it's rained here 5 days in a row and now they say it's going to rain tomorrow too, was supposed to have sun. Hope it stops raining soon and we get some sunny days. We need the rain, doesn't everyone but it can rain at night when everyone is sleeping. I'm so glad it's Friday. Have a great day everyone.

Hello ladies!

I've been doing good this week with my workouts. I've gotten in 3 days of 1 hour uphill walking on the treadmill and 2 days of weight training. Today is a slow day at work, it seems like I've gotten caught up with paperwork so far. Its a rainy day here in Memphis and all I feel like doing is going home getting some sleep.

Thank you Jannice I think it's more of a strain because I've went up in weight and the ole body is objecting a bit. I need to remember this is a process and I just can't jump 8.8 pounds and not feel the weight increase. I also really have to practice technique and efficiency to make the work effective. I had a student complian of a strain yesterday and she basically was breaking down in technique which I pointed out the day before so I don't think it's serious as long as you improve techique and work your way up to that weight to build the body to take it. I was complaining about some lose skin I have on my arms now (new thing) and Liberty said I just need to continue like I have and fill them with more muscle. I hope that works. I need to fill the tricep underneath. I will get there. Still only down 7 pounds kept at the same weight almost all week so hope tomorrow shows a loss but if not I know I'm still down and will keep going. I think I can do it. I am taking a day off from bells so that's good, I need a rest, and just walking.

Jannice hope the trial goes well. Deb hope your running is going great after your marathon and Ms. Sandra hope to see you checking in. Be good.

Thanks Deb I have had a few people tell me it looked like I just stopped and could have kept going, yes I could have but did I want too? I felt it was a good effort for that time frame and wanted to stop, been having a little issue with my left and right bicep being very unhappy so I didn't want to over do but I should have pressed on because I've felt pretty good since. No bicep work till last night which felt great. I'm ready for a weekend though, I know it means training hard on Saturday but ready to see what that brings. I can't wait to hit 10 minutes and rep count for this size, but also know that will mean starting to train to move up again. I can for the long cycle but will need to work a bit for the snatch, then again it might come quicker. I know I can use the 14kg for speed sets so that's a move up and hopefully the 16kg in a couple more weeks.

Great job Deb on continuing your running during your busy tax season, I think this means you have a habit...Awesome on you.

Jannice hope you have a great day.

Sandra hope all is well. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Late night posting....but that is life right now...fit things in when I can fit them in...

Took a nice and easy jog this morning...nothing quick, nothing long, coach had 2 miles on my schedule so I did just that....and everything felt good...nice and easy and no pain...so I did a good thing listening to my body Sunday...was afraid if I pushed I would create an injury...so knee feels good. Still will be a nice slow recovery week which works for me!

Jannice...sometimes it does seem like we focus so hard on one thing or a couple things we lose perspective on others and balance...I for one am guilty of that...working at not doing that!

Jamie...the videos look great! That takes a lot of practice and strength to do that...good for you!

We all need to find our paths and figure out what is best for us as a whole. I know I struggle with hubby pushing car stuff when I'm not even sure I care this year. Weird I know, I'd like it running but not all that sure I want to race.. Time will tell.

Be good.

Got up this morning and did a 2.8 mile run and my 30 bicep curls for my challenge .. I was doing my devotion as I was running and was praying for strength and that I was giving it my all.. my 100% when that little voice inside asked.. "are you really?" okay.. sometime I don't like those convicting moments at all.. emoticon because it really makes me re-examine my life whether its spiritual, nutrition, exercise, parenting, work, friendships etc.. it makes me have to take a look and see if I am doing all that I really can or just saying that I am giving it 100%. emoticon But I really did need that conviction to make some changes in other areas of my life and not just keep my life all about fitness and nutrition but remember that life is about being balanced and to get out and enjoy it, enjoy my kid, enjoy my friendships, enjoy my home . I realized my focus for so long has been so skewed that it needs to keep changing and adapting and become balanced.

Jamie you deserve all those .. I'm sure you will get past that mental block and start rocking the snatches and those competitions as we all know you will :)

Have a great day ladies.

Luanne taped us so we could see our progress, that was the first time she attempted a 10 minute lift with the 16 kg bell and only made 7:47 for the jerk and 5:40 for the snatch lift but she is super strong and if she would just have some confidence in her ablity could do it easy. I need to practice that too, for whatever reason I have a block concerning the snatch and keep telling myself 10 minutes is out of reach, I know I can do it, it's just time to do it already. I'll be ready for the May virtual and than I have an actual meet on the 11th to really go for it. The long cycle I'm pretty confident I can get the whole 120 reps by my next virtual if I keep pace, if not it will be really close. It's funny when I pick up a 12kg bell it's so light now. I do speed sets with this and have been moving to the 14kg bell so I can get more weight and endurance going. Thanks for the compliments Jannice.
Deb way to go on your run, you can always go your pace at the next one, like you said how many times do you get to run with a friend for Arizona?

Jannice hope all is going well with you.

Sandra hope the knee is feeling good and you are as well.

Have a Great day everyone.

Great job on the race Deb!!!!!! CONGRATS emoticon emoticon Praying no lasting effects from the manhole incident! Can't believe you have another 1/2 miler already.. you are addicted to racing now.. LOL.. good for you!!!!!

Sandra glad to hear that you are back to 100% praying that everything will keep just fine.

I start on Saturday with a friend who wants to get back into a fitness program so I am going to be working with her.

Hope everyone is going great, it's going to be a hectic week this week for me.. I am trying to schedule most of my early morning posts for my FB page at night that way I take my time in the morning and do my devotionals and stay on track. I am also going to start walking again and listening to my devotionals and then start building up my endurance again slowly but surely.

Great job on the virtual meet Jaime.. the video looked great!!

Hey guys...

It was a great run...lots of photos up on facebook and I think I am friends with everyone...

I did make my profile picture one taken yesterday before we left downtown...because I stayed to cheer my friend Dinah on who ran the full marathon...it was empty, which meant, I got to get a great shot of me with the finish line in the background.

I was able to run 10 miles with my friend...that is when the half split off from the full...I probably would have went out quicker, but it was so nice to run with her...that I just decided to do that and stay her pace....which was between 12 and 12 and a half minute miles....I probably would have went for 11 and a half minute miles...and then to 11 if I felt good...not sure I could sustain it, but I think I can so I would have tried....no regrets though...when else am I gonna run 10 miles with a friend in from Arizona on my home turf??

I did land uneven on a manhole in the street...and tweaked my knee a bit around mile 7 or so...did not bother me much until a downhill around mile 11...when it told me, no running downhill...so I walked....and walked a few more times after that...but I finished strong and felt good afterwards!

I waited with Dinah's family and my running coach's wife once she finished the half....and we cheered Dinah on....I ended up running the last bit with her until you got to the finish chute...where I ran with her on the sidewalk....it was awesome...she finished in about 6 hours...tougher course then she thought...our hills got to her a bit I think...

All in all it was a wonderful weekend. Knee feels ok now...legs a little sore. This week is a rest recovery week....so will be light...tomorrow is just a two miler...no set pace...so we will see how the knee does...hopefully ok....my next half is in about 4 weeks!

Oh...time...I did finish in 2 hours, 42 minutes and 10 seconds....which is a 7 minute 19 second improvement from my first half marathon in October....and I felt good after versus feeling like dying....so my training and my running coach are paying off!

Glad to see everyone posting!

Jamie...sounds like you see great progress....totally awesome! I need to watch the videos you posted on facebook!

Sandra...so glad to see you are feeling up to working out again! Knee should be all fixed now??

Wow lots of activity I like it. I had another virtual on Saturday and managed 94 reps for the long cycle in 8.47 minutes and 92 reps on the snatch in 5.51 minutes. I increased the long cycle by 5 reps ( I think he missed at least two reps when counting) and my snatch my 13 reps with less time on both. Now I have to be able to hold pace and hit the total time and my numbers, getting there. I have to realize it takes time to achieve and lots of training. I'm ready. Tore open both hands with the rough handle and will be bringing sand paper to class to get those smooth.

Deb hope you run went great.
Sandra great job on the workout and feeling better.
Jannice I'll give that a try with the lemon juice, I know Kale has a lot of health benefits I wouldn't mind having.

Have a great Monday.

Good morning ladies!!!!!

I feel 100% better today. I'm back at work and ready to get caught up. I got up this morning and did an entire hour of uphill walking on the treadmill. Worked up a good sweat. It felt like I hadn't done that in over a month. But I'm back and ready to move my body to another phase. I plan on going in this evening and getting me a good upper and lower body weight workout done. I feel fired up and ready to go.

Deb, AWESOME, GREAT on the race.

Jannice I hear you on the foods. I'm just going to stay focused on eating healthy and exercising. No stessing about what I do and don't eat.

Race day is tomorrow.....have my race packet and an extremely obnoxious pinky orange florescent shirt....met my friend Dinah who flew in from Arizona, and we had dinner together with her family and my husband....tonight is dinner at the running coach's house...bright and early tomorrow I will need to be downtown...probably by about 6am! I think I should be able to run with my friend Dinah for about 10 miles if we both have on plan races as both of us plan to start out at 12 minute miles....hoping that saves my legs for a kick at the end...or at least not walking and running to the end!

Lemon on kale huh? Will have to try that....I want to try kale chips...need to focus on more veggies once tax season is over!

If you are up early tomorrow...send me running vibes!

Deb it was actually when I did the 40 day fast that the light bulb came on.. it was my very first fast and it was a hybrid fast that I did. I gave up my exercise time in the morning and instead did my hour of devotional time, Even thought the fast was technically over I decided to keep it up for 6 months (switching the exercise and devotional hour) and that has really helped me put things into perspective in so many ways. I found that I needed that hour int he morning dedicated to nothing but study and it really helped clear my head. I loved the Made to Crave book and it did help as a supplement to my devotional time.. i do recommend you finishing it..

Jamie, have you tried using lemon on the Kale.. its supposed to cut down on the bitterness. I've had to cut out most of the cabbage and kale family because of my thyroid (at least in the raw form) but when I had them raw I would sprinkle some lemon or lime over it. Have fun on your race tomorrow Deb, i know you will do just AWESOME.

Did my final training run this morning...just an easy mile and a half loop...the funny thing is...I remember back in Jan when I was getting back to running consistently...that was a workout...and now it is a walk in the park...not gonna lie...getting nervous about Sunday...something has come up and I am not sure if my husband can stay downtown until I finish...so we will see! I am just going to go with the flow...I am the one signed up to do this...I am the one that needs to put one foot in front of the other for 13 miles....hopefully he can be there until mile 10 or so when it will be getting hard...we will see.

Gonna be leaving work in about a half an hour to head down to the expo to get my stuff for the race....then tomorrow is my supper at my running coach's with other runners...then Sunday up and at them extra early! Have to be in my race corral by 6:40 am!

Jannice...morning devotional is so important...really sets the tone for the day! I need to be better about it! So good for you! Did Made to Crave help you make the decision to stop micromanage your food? I still need to finish that book!

Jamie...spinach and me are friends...I thought kale tasted a bit off...and you nailed it...a little bitter!

Jannice you have to do what's good for you. I know we all have different paths we travel to get to our destination. Right now I have switched to eating more veggies and being better at that. Now I also eat organic veggies which are becoming easier and easier to find, thankfully. I am addicted to organic baby spinach and have it almost at every meal. It's good for me so that's always a plus. I need to start adding Kale again but the bitterness does deter me a bit. I'll get there. I'm hoping to continue to see the scale move down and get to goal. Than the ole maintain thing comes into play. However I have to remember I lost weight two years ago and kept that off so this should be doable.

Sandra hope you are feeling better.

Deb you will rock your run this weekend, I know it.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hiya ladies...

Sandra, hope you get to feeling better soon! sending you healing thoughts and blessings!!

Deb, you are rocking those races.. WTG! I am trying to get back into my running again consistently but I made a promise to myself to switch my morning running time for my devotional times for at least 6 months and I am almost three months in of getting in my devotions at 4am instead of my morning runs.. :)

Jamie.. super awesome on your loss.. that's fantastic.. I've really just let go of my issues with food.. I really just realized that food was becoming too much of a 'god' in my life and I was letting it take over to much of who I was. I have to say it was a real break through moment for me to have that realization. I am just focusing on eating healthy and keeping up my exercise. I do eat primarily organic foods, I juice or do a green smoothie 1x per day and do lots of fruits and veggies and that's been helping me to feel great, but I am not logging my food intake, I am eating in the proper portions and just enjoying eating healthy and it's like a weight has been lifted honestly. I think I just needed that break, I need to step away from food being such a focus in my life and see it for what it really is. I had to ask myself if God forbid I pass away tomorrow what would all this worrying and logging and micromanaging of food would have done for me...and i realized it would have done nothing but ruined my relationship with food and myself.. and THAT was a wakeup call for me... So while there's still no junk in the house and I still eat super healthy, I am just letting go of all the extra baggage and letting God be in control.

Well it's off to tackle of mountain of files I have waiting :)

Unless you are faithful in small matters, you won''t be faithful in large ones.!!

Hey guys...glad to see everyone here!

Rest day for me...which feels really weird! Tomorrow will be my last run of any kind prior to Sunday's race...I am ready! I also will go down to the expo to get my race packet etc tomorrow after work! A friend from my Walk Club is flying in from Arizona to run the full marathon...so I will be meeting up with her tomorrow hopefully, but for sure at our running coach's house Sat evening for dinner...

Jannice...not sure I would be liking a death threat...but glad the case is over! Where is it looking like the kiddo is gonna head for college? Will she be leaving the nest or staying close to home?

Sandra...strep on top of healing from surgery...oh my! Take care of yourself!

Jamie...congrats on your loss...so glad you are figuring out how to keep things moving...it is a constant system of tweaking things I am finding!

Deb I'm so glad you decided to get back on track and kept working your program, you achieved this with a lot of hard work and set backs but you did it!!!!! You have your ultimate goal in front of you and I see you achieving this as well. Than you just need to maintain and keep the goals coming. I am so proud of you and you should be so very proud, you did it and you knew you could all the time. Way to rock it out!!!!

I am actually down 6 pounds since my re focus and getting really serious about training for competitions. I hope that I can be down another 5-6 pounds by May 11th my next competiton. I still won't be at goal but I'll be closer. Than I just need to keep doing what I've been doing and see where it leads me. I'm jazzing up my walk time in the am with two handed kettlebell swings (I read a blog where a lady lost over 100 pounds just doing swings and she's right it can be done) This ups my heart rate than I use the walking to cool down between sets and so far I'm loving it. I can always vary my weights or walking tempo to get in a nice burn. I also have found with all the walking and focus on training heavy it's working. I was doing too much long drawn out cardio and not really getting anywhere. The heavier weights have affected my soreness and right now I feel a little strain in my left bicep of all things, I think this just means it's working. I have a rest day from bells other then two handed swings and might hit abs tomorrow just to get it in or just do two handed swings and walk. Anyways I'm getting there... Finally. It's so nice to see you all posting. Deb thanks for that as well. Sandra glad you are feeling better and hope you continue to get stronger and kicking butt with your workouts soon. Jannice not sure I'd like the death threat thing, I did have a customer threaten me after he was told to pay us, (GRBR) needless to say he got a police escort to his car while they kept me and the lawyer in conference room. Weird what people will do. Jannice you may need to look at what you are eating as fuel and re program. I know now that I'm reaching for 90% organic I view food differently and only eat when I am hungry not just because. It's helping. Be good everyone and have a blessed day.

*Jamie*

Hi ladies it's good to be back posting. I'll try not to stay away so long next time. Knee is feeling better every day but ended up with strep throat so doctor took me off work until Monday I've been getting in some physical therapy and walking. I think I'll start adding weights next week.

Deb it's awesome about the 50 pound weight lost OMG THAT IS GREAT!!!!

Deb I keep looking at that Garmin and then putting it back.. it's been in my cart on Amazon a million times.. LOL..

Thanks for the push to log back in.. it's been a crazy past few weeks.. finished up my jury trial last week... ended up with death threats lodged against me a couple others so it's been pretty crazy the past couple weeks.

Congrats on hitting the 50lb weightloss mark DEB!!!!! THAT IS FANTASTIC!!!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon You earned it and you are an inspiration!!!!!!!!!!

My old bootcamp class is supposed to be starting up again but we have been getting nothing but downpours all week so we shall see how that goes.. in the mean time I am posting the workouts for them to do at home during the week. I also came to the realization that I need to stop focusing to much on food and need to just enjoy leading a healthy life. I eat healthy but I was micromanaging food to much and allowing it to take over to much of my life, so I am just mostly focusing on lowering my cholesterol by eating healthy foods and staying consistent with my workouts for now and getting back into the right frame of mind.

I signed up to have live tracking posted to my facebook page...we will see how that works....or if it works! I have my bib # etc...now just to go to the expo Friday and get my race packet!

I had my last scheduled set run...ran a little under 3 miles in about 32 minutes...no run tomorrow...and Friday is just an optional day...but I will head out for 1-2 miles...Sat is nothing again...and then Sunday is race day!

Still so excited to hit 50 pounds gone...this is exactly the amount I lost last time...and then put back on...plus an additional 13 pounds....so I still have 13 pounds to get off to be at my low adult weight...and 28 pounds to get to goal...but to be back at 50 pounds down...it feels really good!

Talk to you all later!

Deb

Actually with filing the estate will be closed, the only thing out there is 10.00 in the checking account which I have asked him 3 times to close. All done and behind us, however he can't get any siblings to get him the social security information he needs, I will have him call each one later this week, I want this done. I'm ready for a couple light days myself, no heavy lifting tomorrow or Friday. We have a virtual on Saturday and I really want to hit 10 minutes for the snatch. I'll let you know how I do. Good luck on your run it will go great for you I'm sure.

Have a great Wednesday.

Very busy at work still...and getting excited about my half marathon....tomorrow is my last longish run...plan to do just under 3 miles...then Thursday is a rest day, and Friday will be just a short mile or so...then nothing until Sunday when it is GO time!

I am ready for weekend too Jamie...totally ready! Are you getting close to being able to close the estate now that the house is sold?

Deb you are doing so great with your running and weight loss way to go. You are showing us how it's done.

Hope everyone else is having a good Monday, I'm ready for the weekend already. LOL Busy but at least I can say taxes are done for us, have to wait on his sisters and brother to complete the estate and than that is done for another year. I'm ready to have it over for the estate.

Supposed to be in the upper 50's the weekend and sunny I'll take it. We need some warmer weather.

Hi Sandra and everyone else, hope to hear from you soon.

You will rock the marathon Deb you've been training for it and you know you are ready.

Happy April ladies! Where the heck did March go???

My second half marathon is coming up on Sunday!! Excited and nervous! I know I trained...so more excited then nervous...the nerves will hit Friday when I go to the Expo to pick up my race packet...

This is my taper week...meaning I run next to nothing...I will be itching to run by Sunday....I did my last long run Saturday with 7 miles....it was SO foggy out it was gross...I was soaking wet and my hair was dripping and it was not sweat...it was fog dew! This morning was just a short 1.75 mile run....tomorrow will be about the same...nothing over 3 miles all week!

Kind of scared to jinx myself...but my weight is down...I have a good chance of getting my 50 pound medal tomorrow night at WW weigh in if the scale holds true...we will see. Either way, I know I am seeing progress....and that is awesome!

I definitely plan to go get some new shoes after the half....mine are good for about 500 miles...and I think in March alone I put almost 100 miles on them! Crazy to think I ran that in a month...I know I did not hit 100, but I think it was between 95-100 where I fell for month totals!

Talk to you all tomorrow!

Deb

Deb funny you mentioned shoes, I just realizes that my daily cross trainers need to be retired they have broken down and causing my left heal issues. I exchanged for a new pair I had waiting and ready. Now to break them in, but my foot already feels better. I had a loud pop in my left heal yesterday, could have just been a pressure point release since it was hurting most of Tuesday after my hiit workout. I know I'm only supposed to do these once or twice a week but I upgraded my shoes for these as well, I think my other pair has broken down as well. Only get about 3 months before should exchange if going at it strong. I did 100 extra snatch lifts at the end of work out to push my endurance for the next meet. I keep adding a bit extra that way I'm stronger and ready. My back is getting so ripped, I have muscle. I hope to keep adding. My cousin is starting a vitamin business and is recommending some supplements and a vegetable protein, I'll keep you posted, his pricing is amazing and could save us all a lot of money. I was up a little today on weight but have no one to blame but me, I think it will go back down for tomorrow, if not by Saturday, I'd so love to see the next number series on the scale but may be about 2 weeks from that. Then keep pushing and achieve that 72 kg mark. I'm so glad I found competitions it's changing everything about my physique and I'm loving it. Should have Jerry training on Saturday so that will be killer, can't wait. Hope everyone has a rockin Thursday.

Been a trying couple of days at work...

Worked until 9:30 last night, which meant home around 10...pet the pups, say hi to DH (we had dinner together earlier) and then in bed...seemed the alarm was going off early for me to get up to hit the gym...sigh.

Got in 3.77 miles...gonna have to throw one of my sports bras away...chaffing me so time to go...will go get fitted at the running store...like you said Jamie...it is always something...I just got $60 compression socks and man...nice for recovery...so now time for more pricey clothes! Soon I need to get another pair of shoes and start breaking them in as well...oh well...I love it, so what else can you do?

Lost about a pound last night at WW...some of it was re-losing, but now I am 3.2 pounds away from hitting 50 pounds lost since I joined WW in Aug 2010....and 50 pounds is as much as I lost the first time I lost my weight....granted...this time I started back 13 pounds heavier...but still...I am getting there...turtle slow...but I will get there!

Later!

Deb

I'm ready for spring and would love to see some upper 50's and sun. I'm over snow and it snowed here yesterday so I'm really over it. Great job on the virtual run Deb. I know the virtual meets are helping me get focused and ready for my next actual meet. I did find out about another one in June but it's only one week from the one I'm already booked for the week after. I think I might not go to that one this year and see. They want a registration fee for each lift so that would be double the entry fee any ways and I think that's a little bit expensive. I need to book my hotel for the other one as well. Always something. Well I hope everyone is doing great. I'm training hard and sleeping a lot lately. Been trying to come down with something and have not so far hope it stays away. I've been losing about a pound a week this go around so the changes I've made in my fitness are paying off. I still miss my cardio intense workouts but know that I need to do this. It took about 3 weeks to start happening but I'm going down so that's a huge plus. I'm hoping it continues. This would be great if I could hit my ultimate goal and beyond. I'm ready. I would love to be down at least 6 more pounds by my next meet and then progress another 4 before the one in June. Hopefully I can find a meet or two later in the summer, otherwise it won't be until October when we have ours in Grand Rapids than the national meet in November. I notice I'm finding out more and more the more people I network with which is great. The weird thing is how my body is responding. I'm getting so much more muscle in the lats then I've ever had and hopefully more definition all over. It's a process that's for sure. Well got to run hope all is well with everyone else. Be good.

Hey guys....quick post as I am swamped at work...

Got in a virtual half marathon on Saturday....I ran 12 miles for my training run, then walked 1.1 miles to finish the full distance...I was about 6 minutes slower then my first official half marathon, so I am hopeful that if I run the entire thing this time, that I will beat my time...and that would just be cool....either way, getting the training in, and hopefully finishing the race is a win for me with tax season and winter!

No run Monday as it was snowy and I had to get dug out and to work etc...but this morning I got up and hit the gym for 3 miles on the treadmill...looks like it will be treadmill time this week until maybe Friday or Saturday....I only have 7 miles this weekend...so that is actually kind of a relief!

Later guys...

Deb

Great job on wanting to push yourself more Deb in your running you have really found something you love. Awesome!

Jannice I miss you not being able to post as often here.

Sandra hope the knee is feeling better and you are able to start some sort of walking program or something.

Sorry I've been swamped at work with the office girl on vacation, I'm really glad it's Friday.

Have a wonderful day.

Hey guys...I am pretty much back to normal...so that is a relief. Been rocking my runs....3.5 this morning outside at the park....2.4 yeaterday at the gym on the treadmill....4.38 on Wednesday at the gym....I even did a round of upper body weights yesterday after the short run....so feeling good.

I have my last long training run this weekend...12 miles...hope the weather holds out, or I am gonna have to get up and get it done at the gym before the big crowds....can't believe the next half is coming up so soon...but April 7th will be here in just 2 weeks from this Sunday....so YAY!

I am debating on tackling a full marathon....seriously. Part of me falls into the category of "There is no way I can do that" but then the other part of me was like...there was no way I could do the half...until I decided I was going to and figured it out....there is a event here in town...relatively flat course....has had a half for 3 years I think...and added a full marathon course this year....it is in Oct...so debating on whether or not to make the committment to the training...because that really is the thing...the race is one day...the training is months in coming.....will be talking with my running coach etc....but have until April 30th before the price increases...so time to decide.

Jannice...good to see you on here! I love your FB posts...but love here too! And I got a Garmin watch for running...and have to say...I am loving it...definitely is gonna help me progress!

Jamie...sounds like you have a lot of good folks you lift with etc....that always helps! I think you would be an AWESOME gym owner!

Hope everyone has a nice Friday!

Deb

I wasn't disappointed in myself more in my rep count for the last meet, I know I could have killed the 12kg bell but I needed to challenge myself. I would have hit ranking with the 12kg bell and most likely first place in both events but then I wouldn't have seen what I could do under the 16kg bell. Since I only been training two weeks for the snatch lift I was actually glad I went for the 10 minute lift to see where I need work. Yes to hit the 10 minutes would have been the best but it's a learning process and I'll get it. The fact I was exhausted and dug deep to accomplish the long cylce only an hour later was my accomplishment. This is not my lift and I did the full 10 minutes but have been competing this lift already 2 other times in virtual meets so I just need to increase efficiency and I'll be able to certifiy on this. Then it will be time to move to the 20 kg bell for that lift and keep pushing foward. I just found a training ap to increase my effectivness and progress. My next actual meet is May 25 and June 8 so I can really progress by than. I have virtual meets every month to keep gadging my progress as well, so I know I can get this. My ultimate goal is to long cycle the the 24kg bell as well as snatch it for the full 10 minutes and get my master of sport catagory. The real pleasure was the compliments I received on my lifts from my judges and some really respected lifters, it was amazing. I was told I had amazing techinque and they see me pushing for those 20kg and 24 kg bell in my near future. It meant so much, this is such an amazing group of people and the encouragement is out of this world. My coach said he has more work for me and really sees so much potential, at first I was dejected than he said, I see you improving even more than you already have. I get it, with hard work comes great results, so more hard work and the rest will fall into place. As far as the teaching goes, I have told Liberty not only do I want to cover all Tuesdays but Thursdays when they start up and then the ulimate is I'm going to figure out a way to buy the Grand Rapids location and make it my own. It's down the road but this would be my ultimate goal to have my own gym and make this happen.

Sandra I know I was back to running just 2 weeks after my surgery but I was also 17 years old, follow your doctor's advice. I also only had to have the knee cap cleaned since they really couldn't do much with the fact it was shrinking in size from wear. Take care of you.

Deb being sick is awful and I hope you feel normal soon, listen to your body and don't over do until you are ready. It will make your training more efficient and truly that's what it's all about.

Jannice I'm so glad you posted I miss you on here so much. Hope all goes well thyroid, looks like you already know what to do. I actually need to get my butt in and get my blood work done. Be good everyone and have a wonderful Wednesday.

Thanks Deb for reminding me to check in here... Hi all :) It's meee!!!!!!!!!!, things are going good but crazy. Prepping for a 2 week Jury trial, got my results back from my blood work and have to lower my cholesterol for me.. my doctor thinks I am fine but i don't like the number (my LDL was 121 which is within normal range but by V.A standards is abnormal.) and she sent me to a wellness clinic to get my thyroid/liver detoxed rather than going on Meds. So I am revamping my eating plan to include low cholesterol foods, the supplement they have me on for the thyroid detox is ThyroVen and it's supposed to boost my thyroid function as well as help my liver in addition to the juicing and green smoothies I am doing. They were going to give me another supplement to take until she saw my eating and exercise plan and then she told me I actually didn't need anything else because I was actually doing most of what they would be telling their clients to start doing :).

MO I am on FB and you can add me, Jannice Joseph

Excellent work on your meet Jamie, you are rocking the classes and the meets, so proud of you!!!!!!

Sandra, Congrats on your son getting married and praying for swift recovery from your surgery!

Deb, feel better, I am keeping up with you on your long runs.. I am going to slowly get back there :)

Good to see you MO! I can't find you either on facebook...I am under Debra Orick Swiney so please friend me!

Sandra...I was thinking the surgery would have been done...how long does the doctors want you off it??

Jamie...congrats on your meet...some will be good...others not so good...but each teaches you something...you will rock the upcoming ones!

I came down with a stomach bug this past Sunday...bummer since it is my only day off, but I guess I at least had a day I did not have to stress about missing work on top of being sick...I have not been so sick ever...I never spend the entire day in bed...but I could only manage about an hour on the sofa before I had to take my nautious tummy back to bed...

I was grateful I had gotten my 11 miles in the day before...and that my husband was so wonderful in taking care of me...granted, he told me our black lab insisted...when he heard me up sick the second time, he got my husband up and would not let him go back to bed...so he was a good buddy to make sure Momma was ok...I sent my husband out for crackers and 7up and then off to church etc to limit his exposure...

Anyways, yesterday was a complete rest day...went into work but no workouts...and this morning went back at it nice and easy...walked a tenth of a mile, then ran 2 miles nice a slow, and then walked another tenth to cool down...that was enough. I felt good but do not want to push it!

Sending happy birthday wishes here to Jannice!!

Deb

Mo miss you too. Deb wow great job on signing up for all those runs, you look like me signing up for Kettlebell competitions. LOL

Okay well the meet was great, the people are always awesome. I have work to do only managed to go 6:24 minutes on the snatch lift with the 16 kg bell, I think I may have psyched myself out for this lift, since I hadn't accomplished it yet. But I still managed 79 reps in that time frame which means with enough gas I could have went 150 reps. The long cycle I did accomplish the whole 10 mintues and got in two more reps then my past virtual at 89, which had I known I needed on more rep I would have went for it. I'm pumped for the next event which will be our virtual meet April 6th. I need the practice so I can kick butt in Wixom in May and Chicago in June, then I think the next event will be ours in October and the International meet in November. It's all good. I'm getting stronger and have to realize I've only attempted the snatch two weeks ago with this weight it's going to take a little time to master and master I will. Hope everyone is having a great Monday.

Jamie happy belated birthday.

Deb, AWESOME on the running.

Surgery went well and I've being recuperating. No workout since last week but my mind is telling me to try to get this knee moving by getting on the stability bike.

Sending luck your way for your competition Jamie!!! Hope you meet your goals! Rock it out my friend!

Well...11 miles was on tap today...only the third time in my life I have run that far...and it was no easier then the other 2 times...I cruise through well until somewhere between mile 8 and 9...at mile 8 I was like...just a 5k left...because I run that distance easily...but there was nothing in my body agreeing with the "just" part...ending the run on my street which is 1 and a half miles of continuous rolling hills just is brutal on tired legs...but I got the job done...2 hours and 15 minutes....and it felt it! Have my new calf compression socks on for recovery and I wish they went up further as my calves feel nice....these were pricey but a nice addition to my running outfit etc....anything to make the legs feel better!

One more long training run next weekend...12 miles...then it is a taper until the next half marathon on April 7th...

Gonna be finding out how to make these long runs easier by doing more of them...as I have a schedule of runs I have signed up for...

Go St. Louis Half = April 7th
Running with the Cows half (KS right over the KC border) May 11th
Girl Scout Thin Mint Sprint half across the river in IL June 1st
Rock n Roll Half in Chicago July 21st
Disneyland Dumbo Double Dare 10k Aug 31, half Sept 1st...

My goal is to be able to really enjoy the Disneyland one by getting better at this through all the others!

Anyways...Happy Saturday!

Deb

Thanks Deb, glad your running is going well for the most part. That cold sucks and can really knock you down for a week or so. I'm ready for my next IKFF competition tomorrow. I have decided to do the long cycle with the 16 kg bell and the snatch with the 12kg bell for right now. I know I'll do my best and have some numbers in mind. We will have new counters set up so that will be interesting to see how those work. I think the judges still have a counter just in case but not sure. I will be leaving right after work to head over and will stay with my aunt tonight since she only live 30 miles from there. I'm so ready for this, I have trained hard and want to put up some great numbers. Hope everyone has a great Friday and hope to see more checking in.

Happy Thursday ladies....been a busy busy busy time here...so sorry for the lack of posts!

Trying to keep up with my running...long run was scheduled for Sat...and then I woke up and let the dogs out and went to get ready...to notice it was raining...now...I am not a wus...I would totally run in the rain...but not in the winter rain. So I ended up getting ready to go to work and brought my running stuff. So I worked then left work at 3:30 and hit the trail. I hardly ever run in the afternoon...it was windy and hard...I got to 9.75 miles and was done. Close enough to 10 was my thoughts. I forgot how hard these long runs are, but that is only the 3rd time I have run that distance...in training last time allergies acted up and I failed my 10 mile run...so I hit 10 on the 11 miler, and then again on my actual half....so feeling good.

Trying to get rid of a half cold I have....it went around the office twice I believe...and I have nothing like some of the others...but my head is kind of clogged around my ears...and I have not felt my 100% best...on top of the time change, that is making this week very hard!

So did not get my run in yesterday morning, but hit the gym on my way home at 7:45...did walk run intervals for 4 miles...but this morning I did get up and got in my 2.4 miles....so ready for tomorrows 5 miles then Saturday 11 miles...

Anyways...hope everyone is doing ok!

Happy Birthday Jamie...glad it turned out ok!

Deb

Friday might have been a bust but my actual birthday was a great day. Hubby left me this really great card that starts off to my gorgeous wife, which made my day right there. The rest is kind of private, LOL. Then I started getting text messages at 6:45 am that were funny and great. My nephew sent me the best one and then my friend sent a really funny one. Then I log on to facebook and realize my real friends remembered (thanks to facebook, lol) but that I shouldn't let this stuff get to me. Now I have a completely useless gift card that I am going to see if I can break it up into 3 gift cards and actually regift them. At least someone would benefit from it. My birthday workout was awesome and very difficult, I have my next actual meet this Saturday and just plan to go 10 minutes and get in as many reps as possible. I would love to get master of sport but it's going to be difficult with the heavier bell, but it's a goal to accomplish, by May. My next real meet. I can also keep working on it at the virtual meets as well. Well got to run, hope everyone is doing great.

Well I'm having a crappy day and can't wait till I get to go home. I get to work and find that no one remembered it's my birthday tomorrow and with my weight in being up, it just made for a lousy day. Now they are trying to make up for it because one of them realized their mistake.... I don't forget stuff like this and go out of my way to make everyone's birthday a nice day. Funny card something nice... Anyways it just hurt my feelings in a weird way. I'm so upset it's weird. The gift they ran out and got, I don't even like... Desperate measures never add up to anything good. Anyways Jerry has promised to have a killer workout planned for me tomorrow and has reminded me all week about it. Should be a good one. Well I'm done feeling sorry for myself. Have a great Friday everyone, thanks for letting me vent.

Gained about half a pound last night at WW...not sweating it...will be sure I hit the second scale next week as it is my usual, and I did the first this week...but could be sodium etc...home shows I am down...so just will march on and see next week.

Busy...was 9:15 before I got home...and then was up and at the gym before 7am...did 5.15 miles in a little over an hour....getting used to watching some tv while I get my runs in...this morning it was NCIS...but hopeful the weather warms up like they say and I can hit the pavement Saturday for my 10 miler...

Got to head to a clients...

Deb

Thanks Deb, it's an adjustment but for some reason it seems to be getting a lot lighter already. I keep using it now in class and went up to the 18kg bell in yesterday's workout to get some more reps in with a bit heavier weight (4.4 #) I hope to be using a 20kg bell for the long cycle by fall for sure and move to that for the snatch as well. By ultimate goal is the 24 kg bell for both. (52.8#) I am seeing more definition so that's a plus with the changes in my diet and aminos I am taking. (I've been really working on this for only a week but want instant results)I hope that with building more muscles I'll see the scale go down. I plan to do bells again tonight for lower body. I have been walking and jogging in the am for a lower impact workout and it's been good. I was told I was way over training so this is supposed to start making things happen faster... I would like a bit faster, LOL. I know it's a process. I don't think I mentioned we started to paint his car and he's getting all weird about it. When you getting out there and sanding??? Like I've been home. I plan to work on it Friday and Saturday and do taxes this weekend. Will be busy but then that's one less thing to do. Hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

Impressive weights Jamie...all the reps etc...wow.

Sandra...sending you good vibes for a good surgery and fast recovery! And a wedding!! Fun!

JUst doing my thing here...running coach bumped up the mileage for me this next few weeks...so did 4.91 miles yesterday in an hour...and then this morning was lighter...just 2.41 miles in half an hour...then I went and did some upper body weight machines...went home and did a plank, some push ups and crunches while feeding the pups. I have been neglecting the weights and it is time to work them back in...

WW is tonight...and then a meeting...worked late last night...will work a little late tomorrow night, then a bowling party...then Thursday is working late...I swear I wonder why I am tired and I really should not! I need some relax time at HOME! This weekend is 10 miles...scares me a bit to be honest....I know I can do it though.

Talk to you all later.

Deb
