My favorite form of exercise is swimming. Not laps... but fun, under the water, having fun swimming. Awesome calorie burner.

I like spring best, mornings are getting lighter, but not too hot to get moving - also feel most refreshed and ready to start new things this time of year.

Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day? If you say yes...what will you be doing?

For Me....I will wear something green. We had a pre St. Patrick's Day celebration a couple of days ago at a friends house.

A few times per year - I don't always use music as I like to hear the birds singing and the sounds of nature when I'm out, unless I'm trying to get in a good speed, when music can help. I also often exercise in front of the TV

How often do you refresh your workout music?

Every time I work out
Every few sessions
Weekly
A few times per month
Monthly
A few times per year
Almost never
I don't listen to music while I work out

For Me....I like to watch my cooking shows or soap operas during my exercise time. So I guess my answer would be...almost never!

Yes, sweet drinks especially, these look so harmless, but are so bad and people tend to think "it's just a drink and doesn't count". Junk food in moderation is OK, but should not be the only choice.

Should junk food and sweetened drinks (like soda) be banned from public schools?

Yes
No

For me....I'm not sure that it should be banded from the schools but they could also add alternative good choices...like apple machines.

I love growing things and the idea of gardening, unfortunately I sometimes find the reality hard - finding the time, when the weather is acceptable! Going to grow some veg this year and make my small garden useful.

Gardening is something that fascinates me. You take some seeds and throw them out there and sprinkle some water. A little sunshine and then you have some of the most beautiful plants in your own yard. Plus, I have always enjoyed digging in the dirt.

None of the above... I dislike dirt.... but I know it's good to get into the earth... My husband does most of it when we actually get it done. Last year we had a garden with veggies, that was cool.

How do you feel about gardening?

It's an enjoyable activity
It's more work than it's worth
It's something I want to try

For Me...I find it relaxing, hard work but enjoyable.

Which of these workout mistakes are you guilty of?

I don't change things up enough
I don't get enough rest
I haven't changed my diet
I only do cardio exercise
I reward myself with food
I don't sleep enough
I sit all day
More than one of the above

For me....I don't change things up enough.

I exercise outside rain or shine!

I could never imagine pole dancing. I mean you can get great legs, but I'll get those while rock climbing.

My dream really is to hit the Appalachian trail. it sounds like a blast and they update the trail book every year so you know if anything has washed out or if you might have to go around some obstacle.

I wouldn't be keen on pole dancing / strip tease either. I'm sure pole dancing is a good exercise but not something I fancy. Can't say I really relish rock climbing either, I love a good walk, but would not want to "dangle over heights on a rope"!

Water aerobics
Jazzercise
Pole dancing / Strip tease
Dancing
Nordic walking (with poles)
Rock climbing
Trampoling jumping
I'd try all of these at least once!
Something else not listed here

For Me...Pole Dancing and Strip Tease......I might hurt myself on the pole and NOBODY (believe me) would not like to see my strip tease! emoticon

What's the most frustrating part about getting fit?

Finding motivation to start and stick with an exercise plan
Finding time to fit in exercise
Dealing with muscle soreness
Figuring out what to eat to support both fitness and weight loss
Other (Share it in the comments!)

For Me.....It would be to keep up my enthusiasm for working out on my equipment each day.

How do you prepare for swimsuit season?

I work out longer and/or harder
I am more diligent about my diet
I overhaul my diet AND workout routine
I keep doing what I'm already doing
I crash diet and exercise to lose weight fast
I stopped stressing about swimsuit season long ago

For Me....I stopped stressing about swimsuit season long ago.

I don't know.... A dollar more would make me richer and 10 lbs. less would make me thinner. I guess I will go with thinner.

I've just about reached my goal weight and am very happy as I am, I'd love to be richer but not to the detriment of my wonderful family - basically content as I am, but a little extra money could be put to good use!

If I could stay fit without exercising I think I would still do some exercise like walking, but I would cut down my goals a bit.

Luckily i've never suffered chronic pain, I'm one of the lucky ones and feel sorry for people who have to struggle every day.

I think the new plate is better than the pyramid because you can see portion sizes on there alot easier than on the pyramid. It helps me because before I never really thought about portions, I just added some of this and then a little bit less of that! Now I know if I want to have a baked potato it shouldnt take up half of my plate!!! It might sound dumb, but some people never had to think about things like that and relearning that now is a great step in the right direction. Im also glad our kids are getting used to this new way and not the old pyramid because they need to learn about portion sizing too. You can eat what you want, you just cant over do it everytime you sit down to eat.

Yes
No

For Me.....I think the circular plate is more easier to understand. For those that don't know what the new plate is here is a bit of an explanation....it is meant to give consumers a fast, easily grasped reminder of the basics of a healthy diet. It consists of four colored sections, for fruits, vegetables, grains and protein. Beside the plate is a smaller circle for dairy, suggesting a glass of low-fat milk or perhaps a yogurt cup. You will see the new plate logo on SP.

Do you believe that an overweight person can be fit/healthy? Not sure. I think you can get fit while being overweight, but I think that it is like a ticking time bomb for your health to be overweight. The extra burden you place on your heart and your joints is not a risk I wish to continue to take.

Good question!

I agree it has to do with genes and how overweight a person is. If you eat well and are active then I think that a person can be healthy so long as they aren't obese. Also I think that a simple BMI can't tell you if your healthy or not. Considering Body Builders are classified as Obese by BMI. It's the % fat that matters, so a person that works out and has a healthy lifestyle could be considered overweight or obese if they're really muscular.

I think that an overweight (not extremely overweight) can be fit/healthy. I know someone who has a tall and slender daughter who the doctor told her that she had the body of an obsese person, very unhealthy. Feel living the lifestyle of being healthy and good genes help alot!

Yes, if s/he has a healthy lifestyle
Yes, if s/he has good genes
No, being overweight is unhealthy
Not sure

For me.....I think it depends how much over weight the individual is. I think if you are few pounds over weight you can still be healthy if you have a healthy lifestyle. If you are obese than I think you could have health issues somewhere along the line. I also think our genes play a big role.
