A few times per year - I don't always use music as I like to hear the birds singing and the sounds of nature when I'm out, unless I'm trying to get in a good speed, when music can help. I also often exercise in front of the TV

Yes, sweet drinks especially, these look so harmless, but are so bad and people tend to think "it's just a drink and doesn't count". Junk food in moderation is OK, but should not be the only choice.

Yes No
For me....I'm not sure that it should be banded from the schools but they could also add alternative good choices...like apple machines.

Gardening is something that fascinates me. You take some seeds and throw them out there and sprinkle some water. A little sunshine and then you have some of the most beautiful plants in your own yard. Plus, I have always enjoyed digging in the dirt.

I think the new plate is better than the pyramid because you can see portion sizes on there alot easier than on the pyramid. It helps me because before I never really thought about portions, I just added some of this and then a little bit less of that! Now I know if I want to have a baked potato it shouldnt take up half of my plate!!! It might sound dumb, but some people never had to think about things like that and relearning that now is a great step in the right direction. Im also glad our kids are getting used to this new way and not the old pyramid because they need to learn about portion sizing too. You can eat what you want, you just cant over do it everytime you sit down to eat.

Do you think the new "Plate" is better than the old food pyramid? Other, I don't know. I have not really paid much attention to it. I figure if I am fitting in 4 to 7 fruits and vegetables a day then at least I am doing something right.

Yes No I don't know what the new plate is other
For Me.....I think the circular plate is more easier to understand. For those that don't know what the new plate is here is a bit of an explanation....it is meant to give consumers a fast, easily grasped reminder of the basics of a healthy diet. It consists of four colored sections, for fruits, vegetables, grains and protein. Beside the plate is a smaller circle for dairy, suggesting a glass of low-fat milk or perhaps a yogurt cup. You will see the new plate logo on SP.

Do you believe that an overweight person can be fit/healthy? Not sure. I think you can get fit while being overweight, but I think that it is like a ticking time bomb for your health to be overweight. The extra burden you place on your heart and your joints is not a risk I wish to continue to take.
Good question!

I agree it has to do with genes and how overweight a person is. If you eat well and are active then I think that a person can be healthy so long as they aren't obese. Also I think that a simple BMI can't tell you if your healthy or not. Considering Body Builders are classified as Obese by BMI. It's the % fat that matters, so a person that works out and has a healthy lifestyle could be considered overweight or obese if they're really muscular.

I think that an overweight (not extremely overweight) can be fit/healthy. I know someone who has a tall and slender daughter who the doctor told her that she had the body of an obsese person, very unhealthy. Feel living the lifestyle of being healthy and good genes help alot!

Yes, if s/he has a healthy lifestyle Yes, if s/he has good genes No, being overweight is unhealthy Not sure
For me.....I think it depends how much over weight the individual is. I think if you are few pounds over weight you can still be healthy if you have a healthy lifestyle. If you are obese than I think you could have health issues somewhere along the line. I also think our genes play a big role.
