Ok, so we've cut out sodas, and cut back on alcohol. Now it's time to give up the boxed food! If you are still eating processed foods that are usually high in chemical additives, trans fats, salts and refined sugars, IT'S TIME TO GIVE THEM UP!!
They are really not good for you. And you have to take care of this body that you are in. We are learning to love ourselves and these bodies, so let's start acting like it. Fake it until you make it! Give up the processed foods!! Show your body some love!!

Keep track of how much you're drinking either through the SP tracker, or writing it down, or doing the rubber band trick. -That's where you put 8-12 rubber bands or hair bands on your water bottle, depending on your goal, and take one off every time you finish one.

emoticon ADD A LITTLE EXTRA! Push yourself, even just a teeny bit, to do a little extra strength training, walking, running, moving in general. Whatever it is that has been in the back of your mind that you've been wanting to do or push yourself a little harder to reach, do it this month.
For example, I'm going to start out REALLY teeny and add in 5, 5, and 5. 5 squats, 5 crunches, and 5 hand weights. That way I KNOW can handle that even when I feel like I don't want to do anything.

This week, we are going to face our fears. This was inspired by a book I just read where the girl's therapist told her to do just that to help her get out of her depressive funk she was in.
So this week let's all try face our fears. Wether it's trying a new exercise we've been too nervous to try, like Zumba or hooping but have always wanted to, having a mammogram we've been putting off, calling an old friend, or trying a new hobby. Let's do this together. Let's be strong for each other. Every day this week let's make one small step in facing our fears. LOVE LETTER
"If someone stops seeing how beautiful you are it's not because you stopped being beautiful, it's just cause they closed their eyes..."
A lot of times WE close our eyes to just how beautiful we are and what we have to offer to ourselves, to our friends, to our family, and to the world.
It's time we opened our eyes. We really need to see who we are, what we are, how beautiful and giving and loving and strong we are. We need to stop looking through critical glasses.
This week we are to write a love letter to ourselves. Think of all the things you love about yourself. Pretend you are a friend, a nonjudgmental friend. How would you speak to a friend you loved? You would think of only all of their positive traits. Think of different things from the color of your hair to how you are with the kids to how well you cook or knit or great of a job you're doing at work. Talk about proud moments and wishes and dreams you have. Fill with ALL positive things. This is no place for negatives. You would to say to your friend I love how hard you've been working on improving your healthy lifestyle, too bad you still eat too much. :) No backhanded compliments allowed!!
I searched and found the sites below, you may want to check them out for tips on writing a love letter to yourself.
You can handwrite this letter and keep it in your bedside table to pull out and read when you are feeling sad and unsure about yourself. You can blog your love letter. You can post your love letter under DAILY DOSE OF SELF ESTEEM which is in the THERAPY SESSION Forum. Then when you need that dose of self esteem it will be there for you.

This will not be an easy challenge for most of us, but I believe it is an important one. A few of the challenges this month will be tough. But it is important we try our best to do these. I really do think it help help touch something deep inside of us that KNOWS we are special, because we are. It's time we had the self esteem and self love that we deserve. And what better time of year to learn to love the one that deserves it the most.

On to the challenge..

PART 1
1. If you do not have post-its, buy a pack.
2. Write I AM BEAUTIFUL on one and post it on your mirror.
3. Take a picture of it and post it in a blog.
4. Leave it on your mirror for at least the rest of the week to remind yourself of just how beautiful you are. Know it. Feel it. Believe it.

PART 2
1. Next time you go to a store, a restaurant, or even in a friends house, write YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL on a post-it and put it on the bathroom mirror for someone to find after you leave. (tip: Write on the Post-It before you even leave the house so then you can Post and Run!) :)
2. Take a picture, and post it in a blog and say where you put it in the caption.

Part 3
Make a mini poster (or it can be a piece of paper, or on your actual body). On this poster write (and decorate) I AM BEAUTIFUL. Take your time. Put your heart into it. Feel it. Mean it. Then Have someone take your picture while holding your creation. Make this your profile picture for at least a week. Blog about it!

**I also want you to leave out the negatives!! In your head you may say, "I am beautiful, in my own way" or "No matter what anyone else may say, I am beautiful." Or, "If it wasn't for my.. I would be beautiful." You may not realize it, but all of those "extras" leave hurt and self doubt in there. It leaves the question, "Am I?", in there. YOU ARE!
Leave out the negatives! Just Say, Know, Believe, "I AM BEAUTIFUL!!"

Sometimes nothing feels better than after you finally get that room or closet done and it looks fantastic! For the next several weeks we are going to be working on cleaning and organizing our homes. Organizing them to the point that it will be easy to keep clean and the space functions well. Room by room we are going to work towards feeling good about our homes which will help us feel good about ourselves!

PART 1:
SPRING CLEAN YOUR SPARKPAGE!!
Go to your sparkpage and make sure that none of your pictures, spark name, or ANYTHING on your sparkpage has any negative wording. No, "I look fat in this picture", No "Look, I'm huge". NO NEGATIVE words!! If your spark name is FATNANCY, consider changing it to something more positive like, "FABNANCY". If there is any phrasing on there that you wouldn't say to a friend but you say to yourself, delete it! Change it! End the negative self talk today! If there are any pictures or quotes on your sparkpage that make you sad or mad or just feel bad when you see them, DELETE THEM!!!

PART 2:
LAUNDRY ROOM/MUD ROOM
We're starting in the Laundry Room!
Wipe down all walls, shelves, doors, floor, washer, and dryer. Clean out and ORGANIZE cabinets, shelves, baskets, etc.
Throw away old cleaners, rags, etc. that will not be used.
Organize everything in a way that will make it easier to keep clean and tidy in the future.
If the paint needs to be freshened up, make a plan to do that in the near future. Decorate your space in a way that makes you smile when you walk into the room. Let it reflect who you are. Hang a picture, a sign, or put fresh flowers or a plant out. Make it a room you will be proud to show off to friends and family!
and then..
Show off! Take a picture of what you've accomplished and post them in a blog!

Throw out or donate any food that makes you feel bad or guilty even looking at it! Cookies, Meals in a Box, that sort a thing. It's time to let it all go.

Figure out if everything in the pantry, needs to be in the pantry.
Maybe there's a better spot for the brooms or batteries you always just toss in the there.

Just like with the laundry room, make this space a space you'll be proud to show off.
Arrange everything in a way you'll be able to see what you have and need.

Only put back what you need and will use. And make it pretty! This is another chance to make yourself proud! :)

THIS WEEK..THE FRIDGE AND FREEZER!!!
Take out everything from the refrigerator and wipe down everything!
Look at all of your stuff spread out over the counters and throw out everything that instantly makes you feel guilty just looking at it.
Throw out all out of date items.
Organize and group like items as you put them back in the fridge. Try and make a designated spot for different things so it makes it easier to keep clean and neat.
Do all of this again with the freezer. (You can do this on another day)

THE SPRING CLEAN CHALLENGE CONTINUED!!

So far we've conquered the LAUNDRY/MUD ROOM, the PANTRY, and the REFRIGERATOR/FREEZER.

THIS WEEK..it's the KITCHEN!!!
Wipe everything down. All countertops, walls, shelves, doors, floor, etc.

I do not expect you to take everything out of every cabinet. Do a look through and find your trouble spots and tackle those. Mine was the kid cabinet, the tupperware cabinet and part of the glasses cabinet where I was keeping the water bottles, now they are in the pantry.

The point is, take care of all of the areas that you've been groaning about! :) NOW is the time to get it done! NO MORE PROCRASTINATION! NO MORE, "I'LL DO IT LATER." DO IT NOW! and feel good about it and about yourself for your accomplishment!

THIS WEEK.. BATHROOMS (MASTER-BATH, KIDS-BATH, SPARE-BATH, HALL-BATH, ANY AND ALL BATHROOMS)!!!
Work on one bathroom at a time.
Take everything out of drawers and cabinets.
Wipe everything down. (shelves, floors, drawers, etc.)
Throw out the old unused items.
Make everything sparkly clean!!! :)
If there is anything broken or in need of repair or sprucing up, make a plan to get it DONE!!

Figure out what system is going to work best for you and your family for organizing the drawers and cabinets. You can find some pretty inexpensive containers at Walmart. I use office trays I found at Walmart for drawer organizers in the bathroom. (tip from my sister)

Just like with the other spaces, make this space a space you'll be proud to show off and it just makes you smile when you walk in!! :D
