Yes, I don't believe the GI is gluten free, but certain breads are better than others, like pumperknickel, or sourdough. I believe there are charts in a few of the links that might be helpful. I bought Eziekel 47 bread, it is sprouted bread. And tortellini with cheese 1 serving is considered medium GI.

I didn't realize but barley is Low GI, but not gluten free.

I'll see if I can post popular foods later this weekend!

Thank you,
I like the info you have placed here. I will be printing some of it off. I'm not sure is i should be avoiding gluten or not. At this point, probably not an issue, except it is high in carbs and I am assuming bread, etc.,, is high on the GI chart. I have also been looking into how food plays a role in keeping our bodies at a proper Acidic/Alkaline PH level. Veggies really help there! I'm feeling like I just can't wait to lose some weight though. I had my thyroid checked and it was really, really, low. I would encourage anyone to get that checked by your physician. I can really prevent weight loss. emoticon

Including good fats in moderation is definitely a plus and helps curb cravings as well. I try to stay within the fat range set by spark and I do use only olive oil in moderation. I use avocado in my eggs, yummy.....

I'll try to post some things I have read in the Glycemic Index for Dummies book!

Congrats on the 9lb loss!

I have been looking at different ways to lose weight for sooooo long. Currently, I am staying away from All sugars, except Stevia. Also, looking into staying away from other things such as gluten and starches and putting more veggies and fruits into my diet. Also, right now if I could stay away from the fats, that would be great. Even so, I have switched to trying to use just Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It really is great and tastes good too, if it is infused with a flavor, however: it contains a lot of calories. Avocados are great too, but they also tend to be high in calories. I have not weighed myself in months. I'm almost afraid, but I think I'll do that now.

Yes, I have just come across it only because I was worried about carbs, but this is definitely a little different..what I have learned so far is focus on the foods we can eat and not so much on the foods we can't.

I do have to say the bloated feeling is gone even though I still have a lot of belly fat to lose..I'm excited to start this journey with my new teammates!
