I was wondering if anyone would like to join me in the one hundred pushups program, see: hundredpushups.com/

Many of the BeFit in 90 videos include pushups of one form or another (e.g. burpees), and it would be a way to strengthen us for this part of the BeFit in 90 Challenge. But also, as a way to measure our progress.

Hello Everyone

Having restarted the BeFit90 programme and visiting the SP BeFit in 90 Challenge team page, I saw the message that the Team Leader has been inactive for 60 days.

I have been active in other teams and would like to see this team develop and grow too.

I would like the opportunity to revitalise this team, and have asked/clicked the button to be listed as a Team Leader. Not sure how it works technically from there, but I would like to give it a go, if you'll have me.

There is only a few of us here at the moment, I guess others left the team as they became active in other teams and challenges. But if you are reading this, and are currently doing BeFit90 do let us know. And, if you are like me, and were thinking about it, or ready to start, lets hear from you.

I will re-introduce myself in the Introduce Yourself to the Team forum, and I encourage you to introduce yourself too.

Once I figure out how to send a team message, I'll do this, because I know that not everyone receives messages from the forum.

Together, let's get BeFit in 2014.

Snow is scheduled this weekend again from 800m (altitude), quite low altitude actually... which is quite weird since the temps are up. We had a spring weather and warm temps the last few days.
I am with you with the wardrobe; I still don't know if I should give my coats to the dry-cleaner's or wait a little more.

Regarding birch sap, the benefits are important, and it helps to regeneate your bodies after winter: it detoxifies our bodies, has also anti-rheumatic properties. It was used since ancient times to treat fever. The buds have anti bacterial properties thus they are used as natural antibiotic. They are also good diuretic. The bark has positive impact on our stomach, on our nervous system, to name only a few proprerties.

It doesn't taste much, it is as transparent as water, and also tastes like it, making it easy to drink on an empty stomach.

I found a short video explaining how to tap birch--it is really simple! (if you want to try, do not tap any birch! Only some species can be used, and you have a short window of time to do it in order not to damage the tree.)

I call it my "April's treatment" because I usually drink 0.5 liter a day during 2 weeks in April for its anti-rheumatic properties; in other areas, you drink it in March.
And since it helps eliminating excessive water from organism it can help in getting rid of toxins and naturally lose weight. ;)

It has been a month since someone comes here to chat.

Just to give you some news from across the pond... it has started snowing AGAIN since yesterday in my Swiss-French mountains. Just when I put away my winter gear, hoping that Spring would be upon us eventually.
The long winter seems to now take its toll on me, and I am less and less motivated.
That being said, my neighbor has been able to tap her birch tree for sap, and I have begun my April's "treatment."

Yay! Aqua...welcome to the team! The cardio (stamina and booster) are definitely the toughest but I love feeling the progression. I am sooo much better at burpees than I was when I started! emoticon

Hey everyone! Give us an update...how is the program going for you all?? I just completed Day 37 and a run emoticon . It was cardio heavy but feels great. I am not crazy about month 2 MMA workout. I love both Garrett and Samantha. emoticon They have great energy, but for some reason this section lags and it is out of sync or something. MMA should be fast with high intensity...but again love the program, so I will deal with it. I just move faster than they do. Have a great Sunday! emoticon

emoticon I made it to Phase/Month Two! I am so proud of myself for sticking with it. I love my morning workouts and I never thought I would say that. I used to only workout in the evenings. I loved the new videos today and I can't wait to try Phase Two of Yoga emoticon and MMA emoticon ! My strength really has improved and I think I will need some 8-10 lb dumbbells for phase 3. emoticon

Hi! You'll see the yoga gets easier because i'ts always the same thing. I suggest you do take days off, because your muscle need to recover if you want them to become stronger.

Hi! Just stopping in to chat. I'm did day 4 this morning. I like it so far. Probably need to keep a few different weights available for the workout. I liked the yoga from day 2, but found it a bit hard to keep up with. She seems to move through the poses very quickly. next time I'll probably keep up a little better given my learning curve. I did skip the "day 3 rest". Never very good taking a day off. Hope everyone has a great day!

Yeah I like them both, but I like Garrett more he seems more laid back. Luckily I pretty much have all of the spots where he slips up memorized so that I don't get too thrown off. Although in the MMA there is one part where we are doing all the moves and messes up and it always throws me off. 15 days until I start phase 2 can't wait to try some new moves. emoticon

Ha ha yeah I find him creepy as well. I find him motivational too really get those jabs in so I don't feel like i look as silly, although I haven't done the exercise in front of a mirror so I might look even sillier.

Brook- I agree...I am glad I've been aroung fitness long enough to know how to modify where necessary.

The time does seem to go fast both in days and while I am doing it. I tribute that to the four different videos that keep everything changing. Day 18 has come and gone! Looking forward to phase two already to change it up a bit!

Hi, everyone!

Completed Day 2. I'm really glad I like their voices as I realize there are a very few people I listen to for 30-35 minutes straight a day and plan on doing so for the next 88 days now -- wow, it feels so fast already.

Their approach really makes me feel like I'm working my core a lot -- a good thing!

One aspect that I'm surprised by: they don't verbalize and/or show more modification options in these early days of the program. (Or, I have missed that somehow?) Anyway, if I weren't already modestly fit, I'd be blown away. Also, because I've done other videos and classes -- I know how to modify or allow myself to do what I can. But, sometimes I try to imagine someone who is doing this out of the blue with no cardio/strength fitness -- I think this would be a tough program to start with.

That said . . . I still really like it. Can definitely see where I'm strong and where I'm weak. I'll definitely know if I've been making progress when I can do those plank things where you go down on one arm and lift up and then do it again on the other side. I am glad to be attempting those in the privacy of my own house :-).

Also liked the MMA section.

I'm eager to keep going, but I'll follow their plan and take Day 3 off.

I started with day one.. twice and then had to stop since we are moving and the entire house is full of boxes and things and there is absolutely no free floorspace. Hopefully life will get back to normal in a week or so. But i actually have been thinking of doing the videos every second day or maybe 2x a week since i am also trying to follow a C25K program + I do some weight training and hiking as well. So i must avoid overdoing it. Wouldn't be the first January that i end up with an injury or burnout because of my too eager fulfilling of the new years resolutions:)

So far I did not learn much in these videos.
Jura is such a nice place (for what I know of it). My parents went to Switzerland twice and all the pictures they took of the mountains are so pretty! I know it was not the same mountains but still, where I live it's so flat!!!

I live in the Jura Mountains close to the Swiss border.
It's weird that I can watch the free workouts but not the Day Off videos.

Yay for having 9 members :D. Did Day 7 today well really I did a time in a half. Started on it once and just didn't have the energy then I had breakfast. Ha ha guess I learned an important lesson. This was the first time i tried a workout with out at least a little bit of a snack before hand. Usually I have an almond joy protein bar yum yum. Alright I'm headed to bed before I start rambling, as I have a tendency to do when I'm sleepy. Goodnight everyone.

I did day 7 but I fell asleep at 5:30 yesterday after my best friend's baby shower. Tonight I'll try to do day 8 AND 9. I'll let you know how it went.

It's probably not very accurate, but I track it with aerobics for 35 min. I use low-impact aerobic, even if some of the workouts are very high impacts because I figured in average it's probably closer to that category.

Hey Zoe how was your weekend? Did you find time to fit in days 7 and 8?

So I was also wondering, for those of you that track your exercise, how have you been entering the befit videos? I would put it as custom but i have no idea how many calories I've burned (which will be resolved when my heart rate monitor arrives).

Way to push through! I am on a rest day today. So far it is going well. I would like to see a little more variety but I guess when we hit month 2 the videos will change which makes sense. I like that each one of the videos is short and sweet. Right when I get bored, it changes up. Well goodluck today in getting your workouts done. emoticon

I, too, need to get more weights. I only have 3lb dumbells bc I usually workout at the gym, so those are too light. I need some 5 and 10's as well. Even though, even with those little weights I have been feeling every workout! emoticon Looking forward to finding out how it's going for everyone! Zoe, how was Day 1? Today I did a LOOOOONNNNGGG workout on my elliptical. How long you may ask?
Well 2h30 long! I figured I won't be doing much elliptical during BeFit so I gave it go! I watch The Sound of Music and just went at a slow pace while watching it :)

Tomorrow is Day One for me!

I got my weights too. I am ready to get started. I have watched a few of the videos. I like this series because it looks like it is something that I can actually do. Some workout programs are just way too hard and high impact for me. This one looks about right-challenging but not too hard. Thank you for making this team-if you hadn't I would have never found this!

Got my weights (it's not easy to carry 30 pounds of dumbbells in the bus!). I bought 2 x 5 pounds and 2 x 10 pounds because they were on sale. I don't think I will be using the 10 pounds at the beginning but at least I have them if it gets too easy :)
I'm very motivated!
