Is it exciting to work in DC? I sure would love to get out of California but I may have to just suck it up. I see daylight which I guess is one good thing about working for myself. I hate the business aspect of being my own boss though. I also gained all my weight when I left my county job. Go figure...

Hi all --

Haven't checked in for a few days, so thought I'd stop by. Another weekend at the office (topped by a late night tonight)... oh well. On the upside, the DC Circuit just granted a briefing extension for a brief that had been due on Friday, so at least I don't have to gear myself up to finish that just yet. Can't quite relax, but that at least means maybe I get home in time for supper the rest of the week.

Bobbi -- you're in the home stretch now -- and I assure you, your bar study eating is a lot better than mine was. I gave in to every food craving I had as "rewards" for getting through tasks. Worked as far as the studying goals went, but diet-wise, it got pretty ugly...

Looking forward to the days being long enough that I actually get to see daylight when I leave the office... in my case, that won't be at least until after Daylight Savings starts, but it gets closer every day. And at least it's light (or at least not dark) when I wake up now!

Bobby, keep trucking. With time, you'll get there. And a big woohoo on waking up early. Studying or working out, that's amazing to be up and thinking/functioning at 5:30.

Amanda, woohoo! That's great that you were able to wake up early and do a ST dvd. Big props to ya!

I did not wake up early today. I slept through my "workout" alarm, and snoozed until the last minute. I brought healthy foods to eat today, especially since this weekend I didn't eat well or work out. I hit my first wall, people. I temporarily gave up for a few days. But I'm back on track today :)

Good morning team!

I woke up early this morning for a strength training dvd. It felt good. I ate a healthy breakfast and have healthy meals planned for the rest of the day. Finally got that fruit up to the office that I have been talking about. So this afternoon when I want something sweet, I'll have a couple clementines or an apple instead of chocolate.

Not a lot going on at work today. Looks like I have a consultation this afternoon. A great opportunity to get some work cleared off of my desk.

Good morning friends,

I'm officially off the low carb wagon. I've let it get bad - ice cream, alcohol, bread, etc. I've eaten so many things I'm not supposed to have. We are still meal-planning using my low carb cookbooks and I'm trying to make better decisions, so I'm not feeling too badly. I need to eat better though because I feel better and the weight comes off so easily. I can especially notice my fatigue is worse when I'm not eating low carb. That alone is a good reason to stop sabotaging myself!

16 more days and then I can incorporate more exercise. I've got plenty of DVDs, a game for the PS3, and two dogs I can walk. I think I will continue to wake up early before work (5:30am) and do something in the morning. It hasn't been that bad to wake up and study, and now I'm used to it.
