You could have just slept crooked Kathryn...you can't be THAT old! Besides, age doesn't have anything to do with your back hurting. It's usually something as simple as pulling something, and with the right exercise or stretching will go away quickly.

I hope you all had a great Friday, and are doing well today. Enjoy the rest day Patricia. I've been taking it easy this whole week. Not only resting up from VBS last week, but since I'm watching my friends Teacup Chihuahua, I'm using her as an excuse to not do as much exercise. She likes to sit on my lap...which is hard to do when I'm on the exercise bike or walking!

When I weighed myself this morning, I was expecting a small weight loss, since I've really cut down on my exercise this week. But...I weighted myself, and couldn.t believe my eyes, so I went and did a few things and weighted myself again. It was the same! I lost 3.2 pounds! Maybe I'll have to take a break more often...

Hope you're able to replenish your fruit Kathryn. Some of the fruit I've gotten this year hasn't been too good. The watermelons don't have any flavor...like they were watered too much, and the apples seem to get bad before they are really ripe. I did get a pretty good cantaloupe and the oranges have been decent.

I'm looking forward to the new challenge too Patricia. Hope to see you all on the thread!

I woke up this morning with my back hurting. I have never had problems with my back before. I wonder what is up, maybe I am just getting old. 106 today, took my walk at 8 am it was already 75. Will be drinking lots of ice water.

Got my peaches and hubby is right in there eating them. I told him he would have to give me some money to get more Sat. if he wants to eat up my fruit again. We get paid next Monday and I am going to buy a ton of fruit!!!!!!

Kathryn - Thanks!! I changed my page too, I need some new motivation!! I also have gotten into the habit of eating at least 2 fruit a day. You will miss it if you are out!!

Ramona - My son said he did wear a t shirt, which helped!! And he said he used sun screen, that surprised me!! Usually he would say real men don't wear sun screen!! Whatever!! LOL!!
He is just a little red on the arms, thighs and forhead.

Not much going on today, may piddle around the house!!

I remember those tubing days Linda. It didn't matter what I did...I still got sunburned. Being in the water that long, and sweating in the heat, eventually washes the sunscreen away.

Taking an 80 minute walk to the library also going to the Farmer's market. I am out of fruit and hoping to get some white peaches. I have gotten in to the habit of eating at least 2 fruits a day and I have been out of fruit for about 3 days. I was going crazy last night craving some type of fresh fruit I ate some dried fruit was not the same.

Yes!!! Friday is almost here!!!

My son had a great time on the float trip!! He's a little sun burned. He did wear a t-shirt and use sunscreen so it could have been a lot worse. After they floated for 5 1/2 hours, they had a fish fry!! Oh, to be young and have all of that energy!! I'd probably go straight to bed after being in the heat for 5 1/2 hours!! LOL!!!
They are planning another one for next year, they hope more people can make it!!

I did my 100 yesterday and today did 50 push ups all at once. I have also increased my strength training back to 3 times a week doing a shoulder and arm exercise video. I weighed myself again today and I am down 2 more pounds for a total of 3.2pounds since last Wed.

I started a challenge to do 100 push ups in one day up to 60 so far, spacing them out through the day, doing 20 at a time. When I first started months ago I could only do 4 regular and about 10 wall ones. I worked myself up on the wall ones to doing 50 at a time now I am doing the regular ones up on my toes. Such fun I like fitness challenges

Good news about your wrist and the binging Patricia. I just started SP last November, so I was excited when Dee and Cathy asked me to be a co-leader. Vicki, who started the team, left almost right away. I gave up trying to keep up with her after the 3rd or 4th time she rejoined SP with a new name and new page. There are some people who are just not ready to be here 'yet' I guess. I wasn't ready for anything like this before joining on Nov. 14, 2012. But, I'm so glad God led me to SP. I don't think I could have done this without the help of my new found Spark friends!

Linda - I'm surprised my DH has done so well with DD growing up. Even when I was out of town when my mom passed away, he would drop her off in the French Quarter in the morning and pick her up when he was finished his volunteer shift at the WWII Museum. That meant she was totally alone (with hundreds of tourists) for more than 4 hours!

I'm starting to think about our next challenge. I'm going back over the answers you all gave when I asked if I needed to change anything...that was the QOTD from 5/9/13. If anyone has some suggestions, or thinks we should wait awhile to do the next challenge, please let me know. This is Summer, and I know people take vacations...even though I don't. I'm wondering if I should wait till September for the next challenge. The S into S will be finished this week...even though it seems like it just started! We are still doing the Rainbow challenge til the end of July...and that may be enough for now.

Or maybe the people who are going on vacation need a challenge to keep them accountable???

Ramona - I want to thank you too for keeping up with the group!! I love this group!! Kathryn is doing awesome on ww. But I know I won't be able to wear shorts that small! LOL!! I'd be happy in a 12 - 14!!

My youngest son just left to go on a float trip with friends. My dh keeps lecturing him!! My boys have never been in any kind of trouble with drugs or alcohol. My son turned 21 in April. My hubby is afraid he is going to get stupid on the river and something going to happen. I trust my son!!! A friend wanted to go but he's not 21 yet (3 weeks), and they would not let him go cuz if he is drinking with them they could be in trouble. I'm very proud of my son and his friends. Very sensible!!

Yesterday lunch with my dad was fun!! He wanted to go to a place that had a burgendy steak special on Monday's for 1/2 price (around $7). Well, the special didn't start until 4p.So we ate Chinese. Very good!! My dad kept saying he really appreciated me taking him to lunch. LOL!!
I paid the bill, he paid the tip. He said I spent enough on him. OMG!! The bill was $12.88!!!

Not too much going on today. Have a good one!!! emoticon

Ramona, I was pretty new when the leaders quit for good, but I have to say I was kind of shocked. Nothing new to me, but I didn't expect it, well I never do, so when it comes, it really gives me a lot to think about. After a few of those unexpected quittings, my personal opinion is that some people try so hard, they get burnt. Plus it's normal to get tired and worn out, and wanting to take a different direction. Thanks, Ramona, for keeping up with the group too. I highly appreciate everyone here.

I missed watching the moon... emoticon

Tomorrow is my last day of antibiotics, yes! No more pain in the wrist. Binging stopped. THANKS!

Hello my Spark Friends!

Boy, last week was a long week with VBS every night. Then I helped my friend all day Saturday, and after Church last night. She still has so much to do, trying to decide what she absolutely can't part with...and hoping it will fit into a 1 bedroom apartment. She is very sentimental, and has to keep special things that belonged to her parents - who are both gone - and things that belonged to her 3 children when they were little...especially if they were given by her parents. She is going to have a walk-in closet completely filled with plastic bins, and her clothes will have to fit into her small closet.

We were only able to empty about 1/2 of her attic at the house on Saturday...all the baby furniture is still up there. She will sell all those things, along with most of her holiday decorations in a few weeks at her 'moving sale'.

Now, back to business!

I hope you are feeling a lot better by now Patricia. That might have contributed to your binging. When you are feeling bad, and don't even know what's wrong, your mind just looks for something to make you feel better...so it goes to the old 'standby' that appeased you in the past.

Looks like everyone is having their share of Summer storms. We always have the threat of rain, but often it stays away from our area, and we just hear the thunder. So glad we didn't have any this morning so DH could cut the grass. The little Teacup Chihuahua we're watching is coming tomorrow, and would have gotten lost in the back yard. Last time DH cut the grass, he just did the front, and it was even getting hard for the Shih Tzus we're watching to get through the 'jungle'!

I got to see the moon during the night, but I didn't get up early to see it at it's biggest. It sure was bright during the night, although it didn't look any bigger to me.

Hope your special lunch with your dad was wonderful Linda. Good luck with the WW. It seems to be working well for Kathryn...running around in her size 8 shorts! emoticon

I'm so proud of our whole Team. Even when we don't lose any weight, or even gain a little, we don't give up. We may change our plan and try something else, but we stick to it!

Thanks for staying on the Team and encouraging each other (and especially me) after we lost our leaders who started the Team. You can be assured, I'm not going anywhere! This means too much to me, and I'm here to stay!

I'm taking my dad out to lunch today, just the 2 of us!! This is part of his Father's day gift!
I'm trying weight watchers again. I found the at home version in a drawer yesterday that I bought years ago. I did go on e-bay and bid of the new program they started. If I don't get it that's ok. I still have the old version!! I do remember it did work.

The neighbors next door had a DJ playing until after 2, some one called the cops and they stopped. This is a quite neighborhood we don't need this going on. We thought they were going to stop at 10 that is the law and we sure thought they would stop at 2 some people just don't think of others. And they kept playing the same loud songs over and over again.

I slept so much better last night. I'm still a bit tired -- I think I'm in sleep deficit. I had a great workout at the gym this morning, so as soon as I stop sweating, I'll hit the showers & then I'm off to go food shopping with hubby.

Thanks for your kind words emoticon Thank you Ramona, hugs. It's been a bit better today on my binging. Gosh, how I hate that! It doesn't even gives any pleasure anymore!

I went to an ear-nose-throat doctor today, and he found a chronic tonsil infection that's been there for quite a while, so I'm taking antibiotics for 5 days. On one side, I'm so very happy he found it (I knew something was wrong, but didn't know what). On the other side, I'll be having an upset stomach for these days. I'm already taking probiotics to lessen the side effects.

I'm learning a lot from the QOTD's answers. I found your answers super interesting. Every person has a unique opinion and perspective emoticon I'm also fully enjoying the Rainbow Challenge. Also learning from you!

Patricia...hope you are having success stopping the binges. The only advice I can give you...besides not having any sweets around to binge on...is: Every time you want something sweet, drink some water, take a walk (or do some kind of activity, even if it's just taking deep breaths), and eat some fruit instead. I'll be praying for you.

Sounds like a good idea Patricia. Using any amount of weight still helps, and if the lighter ones don't hurt your wrist...that's a great move.

Good that you get a chance to go walking indoors. Walmart is so big some times it over powers me.
Planned all my meals for this week and am going to eat all the things we should eat like whole grains, dairy, fruit and vegetables and a little meat. I started off today with 2 whole weat low fat waffles and almond milk. I was going to have cherries but was too full, I will have them for snack at 10 am. I am having greek yogurt, string cheese, crackers and a plum for lunch. For dinner I am having grilled chicken, squach, salad with cheese, whole weat noddles, and a slice of bread with mar. For 3 pm snack I am having an ounce of nuts and some cherries. Did I leave any thing out?

I have to say I love the eat a rainbow challenge!! It's amazing to see how many veggies/fruits I was NOT eating!! It's a real eye opener!! emoticon

Today I have to go to Walmart. Not my favorite store. I can never find what I need and the people who work their take forever to find it!! Oh well, I'll get lots of walking in!!!

I was using 5 and 10 lbs weights. I think I'll try with 3 and 8??
Ramona, I'm glad you are over your pain of your broken wrist. So sorry to hear about your Fibromyalgia.

I used to have my hair long most of my life. But after hitting the 40's, I started cutting it little by little till I have it a little above shoulder length to be able to wear it in a ponytail when it's too hot. It's so nice how you can donate your hair for a good cause.

Keep on catching up on good sleeping hours!

Good afternoon Nilla. Siesta time in New Orleans...go ahead and have your nap!

How much weight are you using Patricia? I started off with the lightest exercise band and gradually built up. I'm using 5 lb. weights now. I got an adjustable kettlebell for my next step up. I broke my left arm in Jan. 2012, right at the wrist, and it didn't stop hurting till I started exercising with the bands in Nov. 2012.

I think I got to 'the age of the never' when I was 10. That's when I developed Fibromyalgia, only the doctors didn't know what it was back then.

Glad you like the new hair cut Linda. I love it when my hair gets down to my bottom, but then I cut off 2 feet for Locks of Love and have to start growing it all over again...which takes 5 years!

I got 4 inches cut off of my hair last night. I like it this length!! I can probably do more with it now. It still goes to the middle of my back.

I'm glad to hear that most of the sleep deprived gals have been catching up. I don't know what's in the sleep that heals almost anything.

Also happy to read that you spent a nice fun Father's Day. I wish I could have my Dad alive to go and have coffee just the two of us... Anyways, good memories of happy times with him, fill in -partially- such a gap.

Nilla, you gave me a chuckle with the alarm clock situation.

I'm going to have, again, to stop the strength training. Every time I do them, afterwards, my wrist hurts badly. Once it heals, I'll try with lighter weights. I'm stubborn in not wanting to lessen the weights lbs. There's a saying here, 'the age of the never', it's when you reach that age after which everything hurts, and you start complaining that you 'never' before use to have this ache/pain/ailment. Well, I think I reached that age when I was 35 and each year that passes, gets a little worse emoticon

Sorry you had such a fright Nilla. Hope it didn't take too many years off your life! That's why I use my phone as an alarm...the tune and volume can be adjusted. I've always hated those loud alarm clocks.

Kathryn...I'm so glad the doctor is sending you to PT. They can work wonders. You'll be getting exercise there, and they'll probably show you some you can do at home that wont damage the tendons any further.

Hope you enjoyed your 'slow' day Linda. I really look forward to those kinds!

VBS was wild tonight. Most of the kids were hyper for some reason. We had a few that just didn't listen to any of the directions we gave. Hopefully tomorrow night will be a little calmer. At least I was well rested and up to the task!

I went to bed at 9 last night and woke up at 12 and can't get back to sleep. I guess today will be one of my rare nap days.
Went to the doctor yesterday to find out why my knee hurts when I do lunges and ballet exercises. He say I have hurt the tendon putting small rips in it that need to heal. He wants me to wear a knee brace, don't do those exercises, take pain pills, put heat on it and go to physical therapy. Guess I won't be doing exercises while waiting in line. And I had gotten such a habit of doing them I almost did them in line at the drug store waiting for the pain pills. I guess I cant try my emoticon emoticon
