ZAATAR is a generic name for a family of related Middle Eastern herbs from the genera Origanum (oregano), Calamintha (basil thyme), Thymus (typically Thymus vulgaris, i.e., thyme), and Satureja (savory).

I think that we can add this condiment to our list of AA.

I have never used it, but I would like to know about recipes that use it.

My husband tried in a "supposed" smoothie to cure diabetes. The article said that the yellow beets contain less sugar than the red ones.

I am cooking a fish Spanish style with VIDALIA ONIONS, tomato, capers, pepperoncini, olives, garlic, almonds, and salted (and unsalted) cod fish. Once that it's cooked, I like to make calzones with it.

Yummy, yummy salad, LESLIELENORE. A salad with strawberries and spinach is in my list of salads to try.

I want to learn how to make my own TOMATO soup that tastes similar to the Campbell's.

I think that RAISINS must be an AA food because they come from RED GRAPES.

I like to have a salad with lettuce, tomatoes, celery, sunflower seeds, pasta or croutons, and RAISINS or craisins. Of course, with an AA packed vinaigrette.

I usually make the salads in a jar for the week on Mondays. I am going to make, in a near future, a salad in a jar using the recipe of California Roll in a Bowl. This recipe is pretty much like the California sushi, and as such, it contains NORI.

I am not a fan of GRAPEFRUIT, but I have one that was in the Bountiful Basket that my son brought this week. I found a recipe for a broiled GRAPEFRUIT, that I am going to try today.

If any of you are interested, Bountiful Baskets is an organization where you can buy a very cheap big amount of produce.

I quit drinking regular COFFEE when I was diagnosed with HBP. But during the festivities I allowed myself to drink COFFEE without sweeteners or cream. Just the COFFEE with dessert. Yummy.

.The other day, I had too many ZINFANDEL GRAPES and decided to freeze the leftovers. Sometimes, when I have cravings, I get them. They are soooo good. And, because it takes too long to eat them, they calm down my urges to binge.

I am reading about the water kefir grains. Those are slightly different than the milk kefir. With the water kefir grains, you can make your own soda pops and contain very helpful good bacteria and yeast.

With the water kefir grains you can make soda pops out of teas, fruits, roots, etc. I wonder how would it taste a kefir soda made with LICORICE ROOT.

emoticon LESLIELENORE. The apples cooked in apple cider syrup sound very, very good. I will have to try them. 3 -4 AA's in one dessert, yummy.

I am making cream of veggies lately, in the blender. BEETS are in my list to make cream of BEETS, soon. I just put all the ingredients in the blender and then freeze 1-cup portion in resealable sandwich plastic bags. When I reheat the cream of veggies, I add 1/2 teaspoon of miso paste to make it a little salty and to add some probiotics.

A- Apple cider... I like to cook it down until it is more like a syrup and then cook apples in that with cinnamon.

emoticon LESLIELENORE, I only had watercress in salads and smoothies. I never thought about using it in sandwiches. What a good idea, instead of using romaine lettuce most of the time.

I'll skip X. I am having a one-month streak of drinking KEFIR YOGURT. There are problems with the name because some people calls it kefir yogurt and others call it kefir milk.

I wonder how it will taste to have homemade jam made with UGLI FRUIT.

I like spicy salsa best, but for those avoiding hot foods a sweet mango or peach salsa would be good.

Let me rant a little bit before I continue with letter R.
After eating healthy for a long period of time, I decided to eat everything during these holidays. Now my tummy became extremely picky when I don't feed it with good stuff. I have a lot of stomach ache when I give it too much sugar or fat. Yesterday I was in pain for a few hours.

We made bread from scratch and put ROSEMARY on top. It tasted wonderful!

J= Jarlsburg cheese - OK girls where do you find this ...Remember I live in RURAL north central Washington state ... Do have Walmart but they have not heard of it at the deli counter... So I eat aged swiss cheese and call it good!

Only other J might be Jalapeno peppers? but I can't eat them either ...too spicy

So how about Jullienned green beans or beets or carrots or just about any veggie and many fruits!? There, I found something I can eat but can't spell!!! ...

Have you ever tried Ice cream with beets in it? It tastes kind of like cherries. Weird, I know, but tasty!

We buy it from a local farm stand already pickled, but it is fairly easy to do it yourself. Quite a few grocery stores carry it already prepared if you don't want to fuss with it. I like pickled herring better than smoked herring. Smoked herring is usually too salty for me.

I haven't included HALIBUT to my AA diet yet. Maybe it's time to do it and get into the habit of include more AA food.

I found this very easy to make recipe in our SP community. I am going to try it after the holidays.
