Continuing my plan to only record the three newer or more unusual foods I have each day that are "Eat to defeat Cancer" foods
3/16= I bought huge container of strawberries today , gouda cheese, chopped red peppers
3/17 = I made corned beef today - first time ever I think - not on the fight cancer list but fun
Good for me things were spinach, fresh garlic, fresh cabbage coleslaw with vinegar
3/18 = I made the most delicious low carb bread with almond meal this evening;, enjoyed dark baked chicken and lettuce salad ...special dinner for visiting daughter - celiac /gluten- free - enjoyed the scrumptious dinner and she is here for long weekend
3/19 = baked salmon was delicious! cucumbers sweet potato
3/20 = baked chicken dark meat, Gk yogurt, tangerine 65%dark chocolate
3/21 = red grapes, 85% dark chocolate, spices x5 in rice dish/bone soup...nummy!
3/22 = olives carrots cabbage
3/23= enjoying Avocado!!! Apple Onion
3/24= tuna, avocado, tomato mixed spices on salad
3/25= dark turkey yogurt raspberries
3/26= asperagus, celery, radishes,
3/27= broccoli, avocado, mix berries
3/28= Dark Choco Bar with Raspberries in it Romain lettuce DASH spices +Onion and garlic
3/29= spinach red and green peppers cider
3/30= granny smith apple dark red kidney beans edam cheese
3/31= Final day of March and I am going to go inactive on this team for a month = no leaving just taking a month to give total and full attention to new eating plan [THM] within the food encouragements of Eat to defeat and also prayerfully progress my walking and surgery recovery to get nearer the goal of 5K walked in or near Jun1 - I see my surgeon next week and get the final OK to really push through the pain and weakness of right leg and see if the 5k really is an option. See you-all in a month.

My "eat to defeat" challenge results: Will name just the three most unusual or "new to me"

3/1 = Dark chocolate, Lentils, Green tea "new vanilla blend"
3/2 = 13 bean soup from scratch - chicken bone broth, tomato/celery/onion, in home-made V-8 Juice , frozen blueberries and yogurt
3/3 = guacamole [avocado] frozen blackberries applesauce w/cinnamon
3/4 = cherries, grated carrots, dark chicken
3/5 = beets, radishes [cooked like hash browns] , ground turkey with good spices
3/6 = Strawberries, cucumber fine chopped into salad, dark turkey deli meat slices
3/7 = Steal cut oats, red delicious apple, walnuts, maple syrup, cinnamon
3/8 = Homemade Kefir, pear, gouda cheese.
3/9 = Lentils, Pecans, cocoa powder [Hershey's DARK]
3/10 = Pear, onion, brussel sprouts, coffee
3/11 = Radishes, oolong tea, ground turkey
3/12 = Sweet peppers, onion, black pepper, Garlic

3/13 = Coconut, Parsley, Chicken
3/14 = ONION, ROSEMARY AND THYME AND SAGE ON CHICKEN
3/15 = Menu has been boring but no energy to do much cooking etc so just trying to keep mild and on schedule - have been hitting the dairy a lot and tummy is beginning to rebel--- shopping tomorrow so will get a few fresh fruits and veggies and try to mix it up a bit -
Today had cinnamon on my granny smith apple with yogurt and oatmeal on the side, had some chicken breast instead of dark meat and had whit potato instead of yam/sweet potato as I usually do. Dark Chocolate and Gouda cheese for snack.

Time to get my lists out and refresh my mind and be accountable for this.... that has gotten lost in the memory loss from surgery and confusion of concentrating on just learning to walk again - still doing physical therapy and concentrating on all details with that.
I'm going to shift the emphasis back to general health and losing weight again.
Berries, 1/2 avocado, mandarin orange, Cabbage, Spinach, Green beans, Sweet potato
Olive Oil, Raw honey, Vinegar, Chicken legs, almond butter Steal cut oats
Black tea, Dark Chocolate, turmeric, black pepper, ginger After getting out the list I guess I didn't do too bad today

Th October 9 Menu Plan 20 anti angiogenic foods. Thanks for the comment, LL, but I'm really just planning for my Eat to Live program, and eating the way Dr. Fuhrman recommends. It just so happens most foods in his plan are ALSO on the anti-angiogenic list!! I've been lax lately, so I'm planning ahead. Funny about me and plans. Must be all those years of teaching, but what ever I plan, I usually do. I might tweak the basic plan while it is in progress, like add in or switch out a certain ingredient. Or if I am missing a needed ingredient, I'll switch out a whole meal with another day. But I basically remain true to what I've laid out for myself.

It's interesting to me how high my AA counts are, without even using the list while I was planning.

Me, too. I had a fruit salad for breakfast--AA foods: cherries, grapes, blueberries
Lunch: onion soup: onions, gouda cheese
Dinner: stir fry: spinach, kale, carrots, onions, mushrooms, snow peas, green beans with a clementine.

And I feel much better for it.


BTW, when I was checking if something I had eaten was on the anti-angiogenic food list, I noticed zucchini squash is now on the list. Glad to know that, because zucchini has been PLENTIFUL this summer and winds up in a lot of my casseroles, salads, and stir fries.

I'm cooking, prepping for appetizers for a wedding tomorrow. So, I've been sampling. Luckily I had some control over my choices, so I've sampled these AA foods: onions, garlic, chives, parsley, blueberries, apple, cherries, peach, cinnamon, mint, basil, Greek Yogurt, gouda, black olives, tomato. Pretty good. 16 AA ingredients in my wedding appetizers. emoticon

(and macadamia nuts but I've not looked them up to see if they are AA.

I'm back following Fuhrman's Eat to Live. There's quite a bit of leeway with my choices. Like Lunch: Green salad with assorted raw veggies, fruit, and nuts sprinkled on top.

I am amazed at how easy it is for me to do that now. And how many choices are anti-angiogenic.
