Wagon, what wagon? I have been avoiding restarting which is really a shame since I started this to "finish" losing 200 pounds when I was 105 pounds down from my starting point. I am struggling everyday with choices. I keep thinking that what really must happen is that I choose differently. Blogging about it this morning (my first blog on SP). I keep thinking about how if I did what I know is healthy I would be healthy. For me I have to find a way to think of this, doing the things that are healthy, as LIFE instead of a wagon. It has to become like breathing. I don't want to spend the rest of my life thinking about this part of my life, fixated on being something I am not. Instead I want change my mindset and be different.

A long time ago a friend of mine said that I should surround myself with people who live well, do well and are well to become someone who lives well.

Yes, I was afraid of Pinitrest. Our daughter has an account so I have made a couple of boards on hers. One for decorating our son's bedroom and the other for exercises and recipes from SP. I "pin it" Once the board is created, it is very easy. So now, I just go on there and pull up an exercise or recipe.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for your responses guys!

Jennifer what is the workout you're doing? I've tried DVD exercises and get bored with them easily, is it a program like P90x or something?

Cella I definitely understand the all or nothing mentality, I'm the same way! Usually I'll have a bad meal, then give myself a pass for the day (this'll be my cheat day!) Then it turns into a cheat week! It's a slippery slope, but you're right, catching it early is the important thing!

HealthyMe, I didn't know pintrest had exercises! I may have to join!n I've avoided pintrest because I didn't want to get sucked in, but if it can help I'm willing to try anything!

Thanks guys! :)

Welcome back! I, too, had fallen off the proverbial wagon many times before. I always think I can do it on my own. This time i am relying a lot more on the community support bc the people here at SP are so supportive. I have also used Pinterest to pin some of my favorite exercises and recipes.

Wishing you all the best! emoticon

As my husband is fond of telling me "Cella, you don't just fall off the wagon. You fall off, then turn around and blow up the wagon with a rocket propelled grenade." When I fall off, I really fall.... I have a very all or nothing mentality that I'm constantly fighting against. Here is what I've learned.

Be kind to yourself (This is the most inportant thing!)
One bad meal doesn't have to turn into a bad day (or bad week, etc.)
Stop and regroup ASAP..... and move on from there.

Welcome back WJN296! Yes, I've fallen and gotten back up several times. My motivation is different this time. I found an exercise plan that I really like. I don't have to go to they gym with all the people who are already fit. I can do it from my own home and still burn a ton of calories. I've found a great team of friends on our spark page. We are working together to keep each other motivated and on track. Hope you will join us!

Jennifer

So I fell off the wagon for about a month and a half, I didn't gain any weight back but also didn't lose any more weight. I was really excited and motivated at first, then once I started losing a couple pounds I started thinking I could do it without tracking my food and exercise, and for the first week calculating in my head probably worked, but then I got lazy and stopped. Obviously my progress stalled, and I got discouraged. Now I'm back, because I feel like tracking keeps you accountable. Has anyone else experienced this and then got back on track? How do you keep yourself motivated?
