You know I did well on WW for awhile too, but really I hated always having to look up the points. I like documenting my food, it really helps me see that some foods just aren't worth the calories that I need to burn. SP makes it a lot easier for me. And whew, this site is crazy, I keep looking things up, it is like when I started on FB and spied on my kids. Not stalking..... I promise, but I have found so many interesting things, it is hard to get my 8 hours sleeping streak.

This is day 5 for me - it's not exactly getting easier but it is getting more satisfying - little spark streaks are encouraging. This site has so much - it's hard to get through it all and tempting to jump into EVERYTHING but I know that would just overwhelm me.

I hope we're all here with success stories a month (or year) from now. This isn't the first weight loss program I've been involved with. I only had marginal success after three months of WW - my wallet lost more than I did. It wasn't a good fit for me. SP seems to be alot more flexible.

I really don't want to fall off the wagon.

I am a bit of a cheater because I joined back in June but completely got involved in summer and then the new school year and look it is almost spring break! So my little ticker is kinda cheat'n because that wasn't all this week. For some reason logging my food is huge for me, I do so much better. I also found my McDonalds happy meal pedometer. Oh goodness, just having it on my body makes me want to walk more. Definitely a great motivator

I'm loving this site! I feel so motivated, and I like keeping myself accountable through tracking my eating and fitness. I know that I'll reach my goal in no time if I keep it up. Plus, earning SparkPoints is fun!

I started on my elliptical the first of the month, made my husband bring it in from the cold garage and now its in my dining room. Yes, it takes up space but its where I can reach it & much more convenient. So far, since moving it, I haven't found an excuse not to use it. Rejoined sparkpeople this week to start keeping a better track on my calorie intake. I think I hurt the feelings of my physical therapist today when I turned down ice cream Friday! I don't plan to deprive myself of treats, just want to plan better for them. :)

It's really fun to learn everything about this site. Still getting the hang of it. For me hardest part is tracking and logging everything but I'll get the hang of it within next few days. It'll help so I can try to eat healthier and start shredding those extra lbs. This is really great! emoticon

Thank you GrannyGriggs! I am praying for answers. No matter what my health condition is, I would rather know and deal with it.

I agree that this site is confusing. I am also just trying to find my way around it.

Diet and exercise-wise, I know what I need to do. Now it is just a matter of execution. That is the hard part.

Good luck to you. I hope this is a turning point for us both.

My first week has been challenging, but I am up for a challenge. Learning my way around the site, it's a little confusing but still user friendly. The biggest obstacles I am working on is the daily exercise, but sparkpeople keeps me motivated to move forward.

I am normally very active, but I've been sick since January. I am still waiting for answers as docs aren't sure what is ailing me and tests continue. I am trying to at least walk 3-3.5 miles most days and do a little yoga, since I am not up to a full workout. On the eating side, I am accustomed to eating around 1900 calories per day, so keeping to 1200-1550 is proving very difficult. It feels like so little food. I would rather burn more calories than eat much less. Once I am feeling better, I anticipate it all getting easier.

Thank you Genesis129!

This week has been more about me coming to terms with how many calories I am taking in. Boy do they add up. Last night I looked at my breakdown with the graphs.... I was just over on calories and half of the calories were from four food choices (two sodas, a smidge of cake and dressing on my salad). So needless to say today I am being more conscious about what I am taking in. No soda yet! Only water!!!! emoticon

I am still trying to work in the exercise part of it all.... but baby steps. I know that if I push too fast I will get discouraged and quit. I have walked two out of three days (and the other day I was out shopping, so I was still walking LOL).

This has been a good week. I have been able to work out consistently for 2 weeks now. I tried 4 weeks ago but was ill the first two weeks and couldn't do very much. So I am very happy about the progress I have made in the last 2 weeks.
Also, after being a vegetarian for 7 years, I now eat a vegan diet. I have been eating vegan for 3 weeks now and it's great. There are so many wonderful vegan sites and the recipes are amazing. It has been exciting.

I have perfect happiness. I have perfect love. I have perfect wealth. I have perfect faith. Believing is all it takes. :)

Momma_7 I like your Bible verses :)
Good luck this week!

Hi everyone! I've been on my live-it and exercise plan for two weeks, but just joined SP today!
Not sure how to use everything yet tho.

I've been eating vegan for two weeks and although my body is detoxing, I've been doing well, losing weight and eating deliciously!

Getting up around 6:15 is getting easier ... A little.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline.

I just joined, but I am looking forward to my first week. I started the day off well with a green smoothie and tonight I am going to sign up for a gym membership! Hopefully I will have a good weigh in next Monday!
