Danielle, no, I am not in any other carb-cycling group. In fact, I purchased another carb cycling book at the same time I bought Chris' second book and man is that other book confusing! I think it's best to just stick with this group on it all. :)
Alisalea, welcome back home. I am sure you had a wonderful cruise and that the three pounds was worth it. Could have been worse, and probably is for others that went! I would imagine you'd meet your 13 pounds weight loss, on this plan, in 13 weeks even with that three pound gain. :)
I've just been trying to get back into the swing of things after my cruise. I gained about 3 pounds while I was gone but I'm not surprised, between the food and the alcohol. I truly enjoyed it but it's nice to be back on my routine again now. This group is the most supportive place I've found. I am a member of two carb cycling groups on Facebook but one isn't very active and the other one it seems like one rather opinionated person is the most active.

Is anyone else involved in any other type of support forum for carb cycling? I have grown very disenchanted with a few that are VERY clique-y on FB. I'm shocked really. I've never experienced anything like it before on a support forum. It feels like high school and I don't play those games.. Why are groups of some women just so damn catty? I mean, we're all there for the same thing, so why can't we all just be supportive? Sheesh!
Michelle~ you do what you have to do to make it work. I'm confident you'll figure out something! Good lord woman, you are up and at 'em early, makes me sleepy just thinking about it.
I'm thinking I might have to do 6 meals. I get up and eat just before 5a.m. and by the time my fifth meal rolls around I'm lucky if I've had 1200 calories- and I'm on slingshot week! There's still over three hours left before I go to bed, so definitely thinking of adding another meal.
well-for now i've had to call it quits on the 5 meals a day. i had a class this week (which was my 2nd week) and there was no way i could make meals for it. i work a different shift than my husband and sometimes weekends we are just trying to catch up on everything and running a lot.
with this class and working it just wasn't something i could do. i was at class at 8 am-ran home to take care of the dogs at lunch - pack my work dinner and back to class until 2:30 and went to work at 3pm and back home at 11:30pm. then it started all over again. it was tiring and i definitely had no time for anything else.
i am going to try to stick with his main idea of carb cycling and maybe go to 4 meals. when you can eat at work and can only take one break in 8 hours it just isn't something that is easy to do. i'm going to stick with the correct meals and calorie amounts - just need to tweak the plan to work better for a factory worker like myself. we'll see how i do.
good luck on plan everyone-i know i felt better that first week and never was hungry myself. gotta go for now-i have a lot of homework from a different class i'm taking, to catch up on...

If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you...
Hi great post!! Was bummed out a tad due to calf muscle and a really bad tooth but calf is healed tooth is getting worked on..so all is good and I can exercise again and thus control my eating!! Has anyone else noticed that exercise curbs the appetite?? I sure do!
I'm doing okay, I guess. Keep having a headache when I get home from work (I'm thinking it might be a combo of allergies and the bag I wear at work having pulled on my neck too much), so not exercising at all (not even shapers- they make my head pound), except to walk my dogs. Feels weird, because I usually burn 4000 calories or more a week, but it's what I have to do right now. It's my slingshot week, so it's nice to be having carbs, but I feel bloated. I'm bored with what I'm eating, but can't think how to change it due to food allergies- the ones I knew about as a teen (saw an allergist), and then finding out recently that I need to give up gluten, and now just finding out I need to stay away from foods that have nickel in them (or a good bit of nickel anyway). Frustrating week I'd say actually.
Sorry haven't been posting too much lately, but for some reason , the past few days have been busy (except for today! I decided to sit and just watch t.v. all morning!!). Now, I'm back to checking my email and getting ready to hop on my spin bike for an hour. I'm doing classic plan and I'm so happy not to be doing 2 low carb days in a row, Hoping this plan works well for me!!
Danielle, I feel the same way, my husbands always asking who I'm chatting with and I tell him my Team from Spark lol. All is well here, lost the 1.5 I gained on my slingshot week plus some so I was happy about that. We have an team and I'm so glad to be part of it. Have a great day

How's everyone doing this week so far? Been sort've quiet in here. Hoping it's because you're all out exercising and making great things happen for yourselves!
Can I just say, I thoroughly enjoy this team. It's wonderful to be with people who are doing the same plan as me, and "get it"... it's frustrating to have to explain to other's, while also losing weight, but not carb cycling, to have to explain what I've got going on.
