I really don't have trouble with any of it....except my brother in laws barbecue ribs....talk about things I can eat well past the point of fullness. Actually I have a barbecue rib problem in general.....

Everything in moderation....except chocolate! lol just kidding. I still love milk chocolate, but it has to be really good chocolate. i can pass up a pound of the cheap stuff for 1 piece of Godiva or lindt.

And thanks for the kind words. It's nice to inspire someone. We have to celebrate oursdelves!

I have more trouble being moderate with salty foods. I can totally leave sweets alone for days.

I just think milk chocolate is tasteless in comparison myself.

I had a similar experience with a Mr. Goodbar not long ago too. I hadn't had a candy bar in awhile and had a snack size one & it was too sweet. I was shocked.

This morning one of our managers brought in 3 cookies for each of the ladies in the office, they were the new Peanut Butter Fudge Oreos. All I can say is Wow! I gave 1 cookie away and then ate the other 2. No way would I be able to keep these around!

I only really don't like three things: beets, liver, and malted milk balls. I'm not a big fan of caramel either but that's more of a texture thing.

I do as well. It's just less Twinkies and vending machine fruit pies and more homemade (by me, I'm a pretty good baker if I do say so myself)cookies, cakes, banana bread, and pumpkin bread. Like you I'm also fond of chai tea and baklava. And I also still like ice cream...I always have it on my birthday, even if my birthday happens to be cold.

One of the priniciples of intuitive eating happens to involve eating mostly things you actually like (within reason, if I was trapped somewhere with only beets and liver, I'd eat the beets and liver). Once you start eating mindfully it's easy to actually KNOW what you do and don't like.

Yeah, Fitter... had a "sad" experience when, as a young adult, I FINALLY got a chance to eat an ENTIRE box of Honeycomb cereal... opened the box, ate one handful, and said "YUCK!" it was my FAVE cereal as a kid...

I do still like very sweet foods -- baklavah, chai tea, etc., -- but not the usual American prepackaged treats.

Funny how we change!

I had that experience with a Mr. Goodbar a few years back at work. I used to LOVE them as a kid. I guess I've gotten so used to dark, really good, chocolate. My tastes changed so that I'm not really a milk chocolate fan as an adult. I'm pretty sure I stopped being a fan of it somewhere around 20 but wasn't paying attention. They do say people often come to appreciate more "bitter" foods as they get older! I also love coffee and Brussels sprouts which is also supposed to be part of that.

You Go Girl. You will be my inspiration this week for moderation. I will think of the 3 tootsie rolls when I want to fall of the handle.

That is a victory, you learned the self control to only have 3. I still have a ton of halloween candy leftover and I'm pretty proud of myself for not eating it too much. Then again... no chocolate is involved LOL

Working on maintaining at 140!

emoticon 3 miniature tootsie rolls and they were wonderful!

LOL! Actually, it's a victory of sorts. In the past I would have eaten a bag full over the course of the afternoon. Moderation is a wonderful thing.
