I can relate to both the last two comments. I feel I want to lose 10 pounds and lift more because I need MY sexy back as well. I was strong and felt good about me.

And, Pookie, I can relate as well. It seems like boyfriend can eat whatever but he also has good eating habits that I hope I can adopt. He just likes eating at fast food restaurants like Taco Bell. But, I've told him enough that the restaurants have to have healthy choices for me. Now, we go to those. It's up to us what we choose to order.

Thanks John - I feel the same way!

Also - I would like to say that the whole month of December has left me feeling very "unsexy". I'm on a quest to get my sexy back. I shall blog about this later. Sexy is AWESOME. Need the sexy in my life.

It's really hard adjusting to living with somebody, I lost all my weight living alone... meaning I never had to have anything in the house I couldn't eat, but as you say Kitt... a fiance who can eat things, well, I cannot stop him from having them, then my willpower folds and blah blah, same old story.

I'm happy and content, looking forward to our future, but know I need to fix my control issues, or food somehow to have a happy healthy future.

(Just a side note to say, I really appreciate this team and the idea behind it. All of you are such success stories, and your ongoing struggles/victories/challenges motivate me so much for my own journey.

That's all. Just wanting you to know.)

Find my self control that got me to goal weight before.
Find the person who could say no around others indulging.

I want to feel proud of myself and beautiful for my wedding, while I know weight isn't everything, it IS a major component to how I feel about myself. Even if I don't get to the weight I was "forced" to reach to get surgery 140lbs, I'll be happy to get back to 150lbs.

I want to exercise again, December was a bust with illness from both of us, what a waste of money paying for pool membership and never going.

My entire New Year's "partying" was to split a single shot of Macallan 18-year-old scotch with my husband, make a toast, and then crawl back into bed. It was a very good way to start the year.

Happy New Year guys! I'm training for the Chicago Tri this year and that will mean a number of different things, but I too know I need to get back to clean eating. Its like John said - it's not hard. Put it in the crock and forget about it. And I'm going to drink as seldom as possible. December has shown me that I don't need alcohol and really feel better without it, so that's a good rule to live by.

Possibly, depends on time and money. I'd know a lot of people there, though!

I'm going to spend the weekend kicking around challenge ideas for 2013.

For 2012, my goal was to run 12 half marathons. I will finish the year with 15... plus two full marathons, three relays, and a 25k.

clean eating is food that has been processed as little as possible..

so fresh veggie, fresh fruits.....meat that has not been cured or chemicals added....no fast foods, read labels and see what is in the food you are buying.....

the spoon thing was funny....once in a mexican restaurant I found a bolt in my rice....never went back there

have a healthy day and happy new year

A spoon, eh? I cannot say I have lost any utensils while cooking, haha! I might make chili tomorrow... just would like to mix it up from the old recipes I have.

I am a terrible cook, honestly. I get that trait from my Mom.

(Seriously. She is visiting and made a chicken dish last night. We found a metal spoon... a SPOON!... buried in the creamy rice. Who does that?!)

But... I just learned that I can drop frozen chicken breasts into a crock pot with fresh veggies, a bit of broth for flavor, and water... come home later and it's soup!

Funny, that is how I would define clean eating for myself. I notice I tend to eat out more when I am stressed for time or bored with meals. Do you have any favorite recipes you want to share? emoticon

Like most things that successfully work for me on my journey, I don't really lock myself into someone else's definitions, so I'm glad you asked.

For me, clean eating means avoiding fast food restaurants and other heavily processed, high calorie items. It means going back to the basics of simple, tasty and healthy meals. I'll eat a lot of chicken, salmon, even red meat, just without a lot of caloric add-ons.

Since I work in a gym I hear alot about clean eating and Paleo diet. I still do not know what it is and they are becoming more "buzz" words than anything else for me. Can you tell me what you consider clean eating?

Stay focused on clean eating long enough to feel comfortable wearing my barely-there, superhero costume at the Costume Run Half Marathon in July.

Let me go first...

Learn how to use a budget effectively and save money on a regular basis.
Get back to my original lose weight of 160 and maybe even get to 150.
Run Bjorklund Half Marathon (Grandma's Marathon), if I get into the lottery.
