From my recent lung surgery, I'm so happy to report that the masses they removed were not cancerous--but when I first heard that they saw something on my x-rays, CT scans and more, I was shocked. I'm glad that they moved quickly and scheduled the surgery as they did. Sections were removed from two lobes of my right lung, but at least the masses did not show cancer. A person tends to forget sometimes that, yes, things can happen to us and not just the other guy. It gave me a whole different outlook on a lot of things and of how precious life can be. Never take a day for granted--each one is special!

Good Morning!

I am sitting here ready to take my computer down and I already feel lonesome! I genuinely appreciate all of the warm and loving support and comments that you have passed along! I do so look forward to them each day!

When I finish a few things this AM my computer is going to come down until my new service is up and running Monday of next week (Tuesday latest)! So will talk to you next from NC!

Believe me when I say that I, in truth, look forward to next week when I get back to my friends!

(Health wise I am cleared for the trip!!!!)

I too have lung cancer. I don't know if your Mom has small cell or non-small cell which will make a difference..but in my case (small cell) the cells may spread to the bone. Most Oncologist are more than willing to answer your questions so see if you can get an appointment and you should check out her clinic as there may be support groups available to you!

Until you find help, the folks on this team will support you as much as we can!

Amy has posted a resource list in the first topic that may help.

Lung Cancer.org - www.lungcancer.org/ is posted in that post for lung cancer.

With the loss of my husband I joined a support group it helped so much to talk, share and cry with others that understood. It also helped with my previous losses of loved ones as well. I am so glad that you are here and I am so sorry to hear about your Dad.

How I handled my Dad was to let myself grieve for the appropriate year then I took those memories and swapped them in for the sweet the memories! It does work!

If you let them. the memories will come! They bring laughter, sunshine and maybe some others...

Hi. I just lost my dad to lung cancer this past March. He was diagnosed last July. I miss him everyday. These past 4 1/2 months have been the worst nightmare of my life. I haven't talked much about my feelings regarding his death and as a result, I ended up in the cardiac wing of the local hospital when my anxiety attack took a dangerous turn and I'm completely out of control with eating my emotions. I figured that I should probably find a way to talk about how I'm feeling before something horrible happens to me, so here I am.

Live, Laugh and Love like there is no tomorrow.

I am going through the motions & doing the best I can. This is a pretty hard thing to go through. If I can't get through this I will check on grief counselling.

I had a friend years ago who passed from mutiple cancers.

My mother had colon cancer; survived, then later passed from heart problems.

An Aunt breast cancer.

MIL from stomach cancer.

A cousin from bowel cancer.

Another cousin, breast cancer; passed from older age.

A daughter survived B.C.; three year survivor! PTL!

A dear Church friend suffering from bladder; stomach; colon and now spread to liver!

As you can see; a lot of family!
