I use a digital kitchen scale. It's one of the most important tools in my kitchen and was one of my first rewards (picked up at Aldi's) when I started SparkPeople. I use it to portion out all my food (along with a set of measuring spoons).

Yours sounds good!

How do you weigh yours to get that amount? I have kitchen scales.. but they aren't that sensitive!

I made my usual smoothie but I added the celery back in.. cut back on the broccoli and added a little more apple...yum! 9/10

I made the same as yesterday.. except I followed your lead and took out the celery.. only to find it may be too much broccoli! I will put the celery back and cut back on the broccoli..

Wow. That is quite the colorful array of veggies!! I have found that, oddly enough, celery is one of those veggies I taste more than anything in a smoothie. I have never used broccoli so no tips. Will be interested to see if you get it tweeked and how you like it.... keep us posted.

1 seedless cucumber

8 baby carrots

1/2 cup of spinach packed

1 broccoli floret

1 cauliflower floret

1/2 apple

1/3 cup red pepper

1/3 cup green pepper

3 TBSP Flaxseed meal

2 TBSP Pecan meal

8/10 Not a fan of the flavor. I need to play with the broccoli and celery to get a palatable flavor.. So I chug it and get it done!

1/4 cup kale loose

2/3 stalk celery

3 tbs brewed coffee (cold is best)
1 banana
2 Tbs Almond Butter
1 1/2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 tsp agave nectar
3/4 C. Almond Milk
1 1/2 C. Ice

I usually juice more green with fruits and veggies but wanted a change. This is definitely a 10/10 ,,, especially if you like coffee drinks. I may try some of the different flavor syrups to see what it does. I will let you know. :)

Apple, Kiwi, Blueberries, Spinach, Kale, Celery, Dates, Almond milk, Chia Seed, Flax Seed, Whey Protein and ice .... I used the chocolate protein powder today since it was easier to get to. I don't like the chocolate flavor with the greens. It is good, but would have been better with out the chocolate flavoring in my opinion. and for this reason I give this an 8/10

Let's see now. I used cucumber, mint and lemon that was leftover from infused water.
Frozen cranberries, a banana, spinach, two baby carrots, carnivore cherry vanilla protein powder and almond milk for today's smoothie. I'd give it a 9.

I made a Mint-Apple Mashup (a recipe from FIRST for women)
1 cup of packed baby spinach
1 cup sliced seedless cucumbers
1 peeled apple, diced
1 Tbsp liquid chlorophyll
6 mint leaves
8 ice cubes
It was good. Not liquidy. I'd give it an 8.

Let's see....
Half tall cup of arugula
A large strawberry
Half an avocado (a smaller one)
1/4 cucumber
a gala apple
Protein powder
water
Tasted sweet and nutty -must be the arugula that made it taste nutty somehow :) It was fine.

experiment 101 lol : there is no name as i made this one up myself, i should give it a name LOL

egg beater maybe 1/8 cup
1/4 cup almond milk
1/2 banana
4 strawberries
1/2 cup kale
1/2 cup spinach
greek yogurt ( this was breakfast( so figured might as well get my yogurt out of the way and i was in a rush as it was LOL)
1/2 scoop of protein powder ( instead of full scoop) as im doing my shakes twice a day figure its good to divide the protein up.

I was scared at first would you believe it i love it! I give it a 10! ill make that one again

Spring Sprout is the name of the smoothie I did today. It's from the book "The Healthy Green Drink Diet" by Jason Manheim.
I used:
1 cup of baby lettuces (he asks for lettuce greens)
1 peeled orange
1 peeled lemon
1 cup of Brussels sprouts (he says 1-2 cups, but I couldn't fit that much in my tall cup)
I used frozen baby sprouts
3-4 strawberries, leaves included
Just add water to the line after that.
I found this to be very tangy so I added a tbsp. of maple syrup, but still a bit too tangy, so I added a packet of stevia. While it was pretty good then (and no, you don't taste the Brussels sprouts at all, but though I don't normally like them, vitamins make me itch, so I need as much variety in fruits and veggies as I can get!), I decided to add the smoothie booster that comes with the Pro900 nutribullet , and some rice protein powder. It was good. :) I give it a 7. :)

I'm back from another camping weekend. Hope everyone is well! I did get in my morning smoothies everyday except for one (hubby insisted on making breakfast)

Today:
Broccoli, Romaine lettuce, carrot, pineapple, banana, papaya, strawberries, peaches, vanilla protein powder, chia seeds, ground flax seed, OJ 10/10 yummy!

This morning's smoothie recipe was called Red Queen.
1 kale leaf
1/2 gala apple
1/8 red cabbage
23 red grapes
I just realized I was supposed to use 1/2 a medium beet too. Guess I'll have to try this again!
It was pretty okay though. :) It's actually listed in the juicing section of the "cookbook" -but whatever. :)

Today was Crazy Cran for my smoothie. It was unique. Nutty tasting.
I used about 1/2 c cranberries
1/2 small orange
1 collard green leaf
Maybe 1/2 cup each of baby arugula and baby spinach (it just says to use mixed baby greens)
2 mint leaves
1/2 pear
and I filled up the regular tall size nutribullet to the max line with coconut water
It wouldn't mind having it again.
It does say you can add lemon and banana if you'd like.
The recipe is good for its digestive properties

Oh, I just made quite a winner of a smoothie. I got it from "Everyday Paleo: Delicious Paleo Friendly Recipes" by Ken Siu (got it from Amazon, and it was likely a freebie for Kindle).
It's called Primal Spiced Pear Smoothie. I cut the ingredients in half, so this is what I put in it:
1 ripe pear
1/2 frozen banana
5/8 cup of nut milk (I used almond)
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp vanilla (I used pure extract)
It didn't fill a big cup to the max line, so might have been able to use a small one

I've made others since I last posted but this one is really good.
handful of baby spinach
3 strawberries
1/2 c pomegranate seeds
1/2 red apple
1/2 peach
handful of red grapes
stalk of celery
It's nice but you might want some stevia if you don't prefer a drink a little bit tangy
the recipe says you can add banana but I don't see how there is room to :)

I tried a recipe called The Healthy Green Drink this morning. It's a smoothie made with:
watercress
green apple
a peeled lime
1/4 English cucumber
4 mint leaves
banana (optional)
water/ice
It's tangy (even with the small banana), but I can tell it's full of great nutrients and is giving me some good energy. I know also that it will help make my body less acidic (the book I got it from said so). :) I did add some stevia to it.
I must say though, that it made enough for two nutriblasts!

I need to cut the banana out ASAP - thinking it's messing with digestion for me. Trying avocado tomorrow as replacer, bonus of healthy fats!
