Did you know Costco sells an organic veggie and fruit smoothie mix in the freezer section? Strawberries, blueberries and I think raspberries as well as spinach and kale. Packaged in single serving sizes., simply blend with a scoop of protein powder and you're out the door . My new Natuopath suggested it to me since I usually skip breakfast.
I'm new in this group and restarting my nutrition plan yet again!

My daughter swears by fruit of her choice, greens and the critical things are tsp of fish oil and tsp of cod oil and half a tsp of vitamin B complex, little vitamin D, hemp seed and a little turmeric. This is her morning smoothie. At night, fruit, full serving of greens, tsp of magnesium, and l-glutamine. She has turned her health around with this combo. She swears by the greens. Never go without your night smoothie. :)

My number one favorite is the greens. I do mostly spinach, and a mixed blend, and I feel so energized after drinking a green smoothie!

I am gaining weight again..I have no clue how or why!!

I eat 1400 kcals a days and bust my keister..

My scales say my weight went up 17,500 calories..or 5 pounds..IMPOSSIBLE..

Hey Renegade, I'm here! How are you progressing with your Goals?

I'm recommitting myself right now to Clean Eating. I was away this weekend and I consumed way too much junk food. So I started the morning with fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, and now, I'm about to make a huge green salad with homemade dressing. Later today I'll prepare some Bullet Soups and pick up more greens for my smoothies. I'll also be hitting the gym 5 days this week!

Hello Renegade! Sorry to hear about the scale but wonderful to know that you are joining more challenges! For magnesium to help with sleep, I take 2 capsules before bed and it does wonders. RENEGADE ~ All you can do is pick yourself back up. I do Crossfit 4 to 5 days a week and my Fat% is dropping and my Muscle is going up. By adding in weights, you really will see some Great Results!

emoticon On to something entirely the same. :) I went to a Work Reunion of sorts and two of my best friends from Middle School were there. I haven't seen some of these people in over 25 years. Everyone claimed I looked exactly the same. Believe me, I have wrinkles, but because of all the good nutrition I've been providing my body, my skin is vibrant, my eyes are clear, and ManOMan I look Healthy! Just more reason to keep Eating Clean for me. I Love, Love, the Compliments! LOL

I am omnivore..but limited meats such as Turkey/Chicken/Fish and 93% lean beef (8 ounces) in my chili 1 pr 2 times a month (I love my chili!)

I did a lot with my front page with details and I added a scad of photos/quotes I am using for motivation.

Life has beaten the crap out of me..I am scarred beat bruised and busted up and divorced . . But I would probably do it all over again..because I never knew what to do instead!

I took the test you posted and I need Yellow . . THE
YELLOWS: INFLAMMATION! So I will get fresh Tumeric and Ginger tomorrow at the market.

I will join a few of the challenges this site has to offer. Monday I will join a gym, even though I have a Total Gym. On my start page..I show pix of body builders..I want to start body building, not as intanse as 'Arnold' though!

Hey Renegade!

I'm a year younger than you and have had a relatively healthy life (knock on wood). I gained 20lbs after my dd was born and then never lost it. Which I guess is typical but I am/was a runner and the less I weigh the easier it is. I also love to swim in the ocean so a cute figure would be nice.

I replaced my 600, which finally died, with the Rx 2 weeks ago, and MyOhMy, I've eaten cleaner in the last 2 weeks than the first 3 months of this year, with some really delicious soups to boot.

Are you following a regular diet, omnivore, or are you plant based? I've been a junk food veggie head for numerous years but am now finally cleaning up my act.

I am a Male..which seems odd for this site

I am 58 years old and not in the best shape

I do have a Bullet and I have been using it daily . It is a Pro 900

I still have my old 600 (original) set on a shelf

I do a number of fruit and vegetables daily with each meal.

Traffic is no matter to me. People come and go in our lives, I just keep an eye on my feet and keep moving. but I also keep an eye on my goals so I don't wander off. I too have had health scares so I know the reality of being 58 and having made it this far in life. I don't want the last thing of my life to be remembered for was "Man, that was a heavy casket!!"

I still have 55 pounds to lose. I will make it there, Fear is a great motivator and Pain is a TaskMaster!

I just joined the team 2 weeks ago and became the team lead since it was completely dead. I'm here to get healthy too and shed a few pounds. Hopefully, we will get more traffic once people realize it's active again.

Do you have a NutriBullet and what are you making in it? I just got the Rx and I'm loving the soups it produces. The smoothies are pretty silky too.

T, MOTIVE-DESIRE is dealing with a serious health problem, and has left Sparks for awhile, but I'm sure she wouldn't mind you using any of her recipes. I'm praying that she has a quick recovery.

Mine was good.. I accomplished a lot as well as a few good workouts.. I had sonograms done on my kidneys to rule out a 'lump in my back..awaiting the results! Concerned about the lump..it wasn't found on the sonogram

I did a 7-mile hike in the Santa Monica Mountains with nice Ocean Views and Breezes. I also tried a new NurtiBullet soup carrot/sweet potato/spinach and it was actually pretty good.

It happened just as fast for me too. :)

I was watching free videos from the Total Wellness Summit presented by Food Matters and one of the Documentaries was Sugar Blues and that day also offered an interview with the author of I Quit Sugar.

I knew before hand that my 12 oz can of Coca~Cola had 9 1/3 teaspoons of sugar but it never fully hit me that it really was poisoning my body. I guess when you are ready to hear the news you absorb it. I just finished up my 3rd week on no added sugar and the scale is responding favorable.

What happened for me was I was reading up on calorie distribution and how much carbs/sugar we could have each day as well as protein and fat. An article popped up on the side of the page about 'is sugar toxic?' which and of course I followed immediately!

By the time I finished my 'research' a few hours later, I had come to the conclusion that eating processed sugars was no different than cigarette smoking..except I didn't destroy my lungs in the 'process' (pun intended)!

So . . at this point of my newfound revelation.. I have a resolution to not eat any processed sugar confections.. So yes..It was and is quite easy for me! People offer me stuff and I just say..'No thank you, I can't eat sugar!'

I get the needed 'sugar' (glucose) from my fruit and vegetables. My morning fruit and veggie smoothies lasts me all day..I have a certain amount at each meal and I leave a little in the bottom of the cups for a 'snack' after dinner so I have something and those calories are already in my daily food budget!

It is very freeing or liberating when you become your own advocate for your health!

I am plant-based to a greater degree ..I do fish and eggs and poultry..

I am mostly un-processed . . I do make a cold cut sandwich of low sodium turkey and thin sliced pepper-jack cheese!

I am sugar-free . . meaning I do not add any sugar and I don't/won't eat cakes..pies..donuts.. candies..pastries..ice cream and the like!

emoticon T ~ What a Fantastic article! I'm going to be posting in our Health Section for easy access. I am just loving this Rx, my green smoothie is the smoothest I ever had and making soups and dressings is such a BIG Plus for me. For your meals, are you plant based, or un-processed, or what?

I've been a junk food veggie head for decades but have started cleaning up my diet this year. I've been cutting out processed foods and this month trying to go suger free too. 3 sodas in 3 weeks is pretty good since I came from a soda-a-day habit.

Wow T, that is some kind of Veggie Smoothie. Holy Smokes, you must have every vitamin and mineral possible with all those colors. How does it taste?

Now your Fruit Smoothie looks delicious but then I lean towards more fruit than I do veggies.

I fired up the Rx yesterday and made black bean soup and curry coconut soup. The consistency of the soups is like a light parfait, which is amazing. And the coconut curry soup is the best I've ever tasted.

I need to pick up some greens tonight and get back to my green smoothies.

Fruit Smoothie!

1/4 C frozen Strawberries

1/4 C frozen Raspberries

1/4 C frozen Blueberries

1/4 C Pineapple chunks

1/4 C Red Grapes

1/2 C Plain Greek Yogurt

1/3 Medium Banana

1 Clementine

1 scoop Whey protein powder

Add a couple ice cubes and cover the contents with water and spin it for 45 seconds and grab a straw!



Veggie Smoothie!

1/2 C Spinach

1/8-1/5th Green pepper

1/2 Stalk Celery

2 1/2 inches zucchini

2 1/2 inches Cucumber

8-10 Baby Carrots

2 Broccoli florets

2 cauliflower florets

1 small Orange Pepper

1 small Yellow Pepper

1 small Red Pepper

1/2 small Apple

1/8 C Walnuts

1/8 C Almonds

2 TBSP Flaxseed meal

(I have the 32 oz cup..but I use 2 cups and botch this up so it all blends evenly!)

Add a few ice cubes and then fill with water..remember to stay close to the 'MAX LINE'



I make both of these smoothies last all day so I can have fruit and veggies at every meal!

I go by 'T' as my name is in a language that is not written be written ..It means 'Distant Thunder'!

I use my Pro 900 Nutri-Bullet everyday! I make a fruit smoothie and a veggie smoothie every day!

I make them 'last' all day so I have fruits and veggies with EVERY meal . . even breakfast!

I picked up the Rx yesterday at Bed/Bath/Beyond using their 20% coupon. I also picked up the ingredients for the mushroom soup that you can make in it. I'll give it all a whirl tomorrow and see how I like.

emoticon How often do you use your Bullet? Daily, Weekdays, or once in a while?

I used to use mine 4 or 5 days a week making green smoothies in the morning but fell out of the habit. With this new Rx, I'm hoping to make smoothies and soups, and dare I say, salad dressings too. :)

My 900 just died, I've been using it for years and now I'm shopping for a new one.

How do you like the soup making feature on the Rx? Can you make a complete soup in it or do you need to Saute in a pan first and then move it to the bullet? I like fast, easy, and convenient. :)

I just received the nutri ninja. My understanding is both the vitamix and ninja are good products, the vitamix got a higher rating BUT, the ninja was a lot less expensive. I went with the ninja for that reason. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and find out making smoothies wasn't for me. As far as ordering on line, try nutrininja.com/promo or nutribullit.com whichever you decide to go with.

I saw a demo of the nutri bullet on TV and was impressed that it seemed to totally liquify the whole vegetable with no waste.

But you can never be sure of the truth of what you see on TV. I've just read this review ninjavsvitamix.com and it looks pretty good. But I live in UK and don't know where to order it online to make sure I get the right thing. Any advice?

In that recipe.. I used plain canned beets.. I also had arugula in it.. so I think the combining flavors gave it a 'different' taste but I drank it anyway! I don't waste product because of the taste!

1/4 C Spinach
1/4 C Kale
10 Baby Carrots
1 Baby Cuke
1/2 Apple
1 Clementine
4 Cauliflower florets
3 Broccoli Florets
3 Tbs Pecan Meal

There are so many possibilities you can use! I use a lot of different veggies as well as fruits.

If you do use broccoli..go easy at first.. it can be quite strong if you use too much!

Here on this team is another Discussion called 'The Drink I Made Today' and we have listed all kinds of blends you can make/try!

Some of my blends are not that tasty..yet for me it is not all about the taste as it is about the nutrients and their benefits. Some I have made.. I just chug some and eat a bite of something I am having with it just to get the taste out of my mouth!

Were you talking about juice from pickled beets? Wondered about putting the beets in my smoothie. Went on Pinterest to get some recipes to shake it up. Going to try celery, carrots, cucumber & blueberries in the morning probably with some honey. Will see how that taste. I've been using spinach & carrots but that's about the only veggies I've tried. How is broccoli & cauliflower in a smoothie. Would love some new ideas to get more variety in my diet. Thanks.

Might I suggest measuring cups! For me.. it's a matter of counting calories and comparing with Spark people as to what the carb/protein/fat balance is good for me!

Thanks - I've been filling the cup 3/4 with greens and I could never normally eat that much greens but in a smoothie I can - I think it's to much - will do some tweeting

MOMS3KIDS.. I found that if I stay within the recommended daily allowance for fruit and/or veggies..you need not to worry!

When I first got my Nutri-bullet I fixed a lot of fruit smoothies. When I had my blood work done...my sugar was high! Balance....yes balance. emoticon

Seriously stupid question but I've been making a smoothie with a lot of Costco power greens flax seed frozen fruit and coconut water - all organic - just wondering if you can over do it and it ends up causing health problems instead of helping - thx
