In that recipe.. I used plain canned beets.. I also had arugula in it.. so I think the combining flavors gave it a 'different' taste but I drank it anyway! I don't waste product because of the taste!

1/4 C Spinach
1/4 C Kale
10 Baby Carrots
1 Baby Cuke
1/2 Apple
1 Clementine
4 Cauliflower florets
3 Broccoli Florets
3 Tbs Pecan Meal

There are so many possibilities you can use! I use a lot of different veggies as well as fruits.

If you do use broccoli..go easy at first.. it can be quite strong if you use too much!

Here on this team is another Discussion called 'The Drink I Made Today' and we have listed all kinds of blends you can make/try!

Some of my blends are not that tasty..yet for me it is not all about the taste as it is about the nutrients and their benefits. Some I have made.. I just chug some and eat a bite of something I am having with it just to get the taste out of my mouth!

Were you talking about juice from pickled beets? Wondered about putting the beets in my smoothie. Went on Pinterest to get some recipes to shake it up. Going to try celery, carrots, cucumber & blueberries in the morning probably with some honey. Will see how that taste. I've been using spinach & carrots but that's about the only veggies I've tried. How is broccoli & cauliflower in a smoothie. Would love some new ideas to get more variety in my diet. Thanks.

Might I suggest measuring cups! For me.. it's a matter of counting calories and comparing with Spark people as to what the carb/protein/fat balance is good for me!

Seriously stupid question but I've been making a smoothie with a lot of Costco power greens flax seed frozen fruit and coconut water - all organic - just wondering if you can over do it and it ends up causing health problems instead of helping - thx

Today I am setting up my Pro 900!

I haven't opened the box yet.. I have been using the 600 series . I went to the market and bought fresh new veggies and more fruit.

If anyone has any experience with cranberries ..please chime in! I want to start using those as well.

I am also studying foods and what will give me maximum benefit without calorie overload.

I always look at the blades as soon as I take them off the cup. I have heard of this happening before.

As far as the taste of smoothies.. I have made some that the taste was less than 'pleasant' but I drank them knowing that the product was good for my body. I too don't want to waste good food even if the taste is emoticon

Just took my Nutri Bullet for a exchange at Costco. On Christmas I fixed a small Nutri meal at about 7pm. I had a large lunch and decided to go small for dinner. The blade broke in the shake.... This was just frozen pineapple and cranberries with shake mix. No reason for the blade to crack! I'm very happy that I did not drink the broken blade!
If you hear a NOISE stop and think...don't drink.

I need to change-and with that said....lets do this!

Has anyone tried coconut milk POWDER in their Nutriblast? I've used coconut milk (either canned or in a carton). I usually use it for cooking, but haven't found much info for using it in a smoothie.

Loving the nutrabullet this year...there are not wasted produce...if I can't use my produce, I blend it, pour into ice cube trays and add the cubes to my drinks or recipes..

I make a drink every morning, sometimes I have one for dinner if I had a big lunch or feel like a pick me up.
I use half a big cup of Kale or spinach, maybe some spinach and arugula, I'm trying to learn to like arugula! I use a combination of any of these: frozen strawberries, blueberries, melons, cherries, raspberries, mango, pineapple and always, one banana.
I add a scoop of Isopure unflavored whey protein powder isolate and fill up the rest with spring water. I was using the unflavored almond milk but the banana gives it the texture so I stopped using it. I'm 2 months into morning smoothies and two weeks using the NB. I'm going to branch out to trying some of the recipes in the book but I hate wasting food when I don't like something so I have not started yet LOL

Dropping by the team page today as I haven't been in for a long while. I'm still doing an average of 3-4 Nutriblasts per week, after I initially did a 3 day feast with my NB. LOVE the NB and trying new things. I do tend to get "stuck in a rut" with my favorites: banana, spinach, strawberry, orange or pineapple, and flax with water or almond milk. Lately, I've also added carrot. YUM!

Hope you are all well. I've just heard from the team leader, PinkSoldier, about helping in her absence. I'm happy to step in and help. I'll try to check in at least a couple times per week, if not more.

Hi all, I'm new to the team - been considering joining for a while. I've been a NB junkie now for around 4 months. I've had one every morning since I got it. I was using a blender for around 6 months before, but after it died, I switched over and I LOVE it!

I prepare the fruit and greens in the NB mug the night before - I'm always rushed in the morning.
I don't have exact measurements for most of the ingredients as I just eyeball it and whatever fits . . . so be it. I am diabetic so I need to use caution making sure I get protein with the drink.

Here is my basic recipe with some slight variations that seems to work for me - not everything is in every drink - whatever is in season or I have on hand:
Strawberries (around 1 cup)
Blueberries (around 1/4-1/2 cup)
Pineapple (3 chunks if I have it)
Blackberries (if in season)
Baby Kale or Spinach - whichever I've got on hand - I try to switch it up (small handful)

In the morning I add:
1 heaping tblspoon of ground flax seed (be careful- you need to start with a small amount and work your way up. Also, Flax seeds do not need to be refrigerated until they are ground and then they don't last long- I grind up a small batch for the week and put in the fridge.)
1 heaping tblspoon of Plain Greek yogurt - for animal lovers - I let my cat lick the spoon - good for his digestion ;) good for dogs too.

And the final 2 ingredients BUT I THINK VERY IMPORTANT:
Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk instead of water ( I think it gives a better consistency and flavor rather than water - 8 ozs is 30 calories)
and:
Plant Protein - this usually contains Pea Protein, Protein from Chia Seeds, Brown Rice and hemp (2 scoops are 21 grams of protein - too much for me and 150 calories. so I take a bit over 1 scoop which works fine- 12 grams protein and maybe 80 calories and it stretches the product further). Depending on which Protein you use will effect the taste of the drink.
3 ice cubes

So there you have it - My wonderful morning smoothie - around 250-300 calories, best I can figure, depending on how much I've crammed in. It's the best I've come up with so far.

I checked it out, and declined I don't like giving information out freely. Unfortunately it's not free either. It is for 6 months, but just another way for people to spend money, a lot of us out of work and some retired don't have those luxury's either so why do it, when we have Sparkpeople! There is also a small forum on nutribullet's site @ http://www.nutriliving.com/. I have a profile on there, but there really isn't much to it. I'm trying to get some people from there to come over here. It has a lot of good info though, with different tabs to choose from and stuff.

It could be more active and we could probably have a picture too! lol Pink Soldier the team leader sent out an Email asking if any of us would be interested in being a leader. emoticon I wish this team was more active. Hopefully we'll get more members and really start sharing NutriBullet info and success. I'm doing great. Just on my pre-trial week, but already feel so good, I have no fear about starting my true first week on Monday.

The only thing I haven't liked in my juice was spring greens. Most of the time I use spinach & kale as my base, a couple of different fruits, and always put in a few chunks of fresh pineapple to sweeten it & top it off with a nut or seed booster. I use 1/2 water & 1/2 organic juice to the max line, as water alone makes it to bland.

I'm so excited....so very excited. I have absolutely no desire to cheat, or have any cravings to cheat.

Next week I'm still going to continue to eat 1 md boiled egg with my breakfast juice, and a small portion of meat/fish with my evening juice. If weightloss doesn't work well with that plan, then I will go full 'nutriblast fast'.

Ok I ran out of fruit to put in my Nutri Blasts, need to get into town. I like bananas in mine, and berrys. I can tell when I miss one of my Blasts because of my energy level. They are usually my building blocks to better health. Need to gauge better with the use of my fruits.
Still have lots of organic baby spinach, but need all the other things. Getting low on flaxseed too.

I thought the kale went well in a gazpacho with one half tomato and bell pepper, lemon, olive oil, garlic. I also tried it with currents, apples but needed proportionally more fruit for a mellow taste.

My first encounter with Kale didn't go over too well either. But I am going to try to find a way to incorporate in future blasts, it is one of the best greens for our health. My 2 fruit ingredients are a berry and a banana. Flax seeds or almonds. Then baby spinach and 1 tsp cinnamon.
That's what I pretty much have every day. I will change it up and try more different ingredients. After blending I add more water to reduce the texture of pulp. But most of the time it's pretty thin and juicy.

Hello, I am the type of person who will find one thing that I like to eat and stick with it until I have a taste for something else, then change it up. Right now I am extracting spinach leaves, cilantro, cucumber, apple, pear, carrot, and a touch of lemon juice. It is delicious!

I tried kale when I first got the NutriBullet but I ended up tossing it - turns out I don't like kale. But. . . I love spinach in anything. I have even used spinach with bananas and strawberries and it tastes fine.

There is no way around the pulp. Have you tried to eat it like a food? I don't know if that will help but when you eat food you expect to have something on your tongue, so it may help.

What exactly are you gagging on? The greens? Or the consistency? If it is either I would hate to say, that there is no way around it, unless someone else found something different, that I haven't tried yet. I gag on toothpaste, there is a spot on the back of your tongue, that does the gag thing, so I try to keep everything on the side, not easy to do either.

Hello, new user here! I have been juicing for over a year. I recently bought a nutribullet. I have tried several recipes, but I cannot get past my gag reflex from the pulp. Does anyone have a recipe or a bit of advice to help with this. Are there any recipes (i have tried just adding more water) that reduce the pulp drastically? I like the idea of getting all the nutrients and I LOVE the easy cleanup. However, I can do nothing about my gag reflex, so if I can't figure something out, I will have to return it emoticon

I just watched "Food Matters" and the Dr. who promotes the Nutri Bullet quoted that if a person drinks a liter or 2 of water, before they drink or eat anything at the start of the day. It starts a natural process of cleanse and elimination. OMG how right he was. This is now on my list of dailys! I feel so bright and alert today, and energy is so increased due to the Nutri Blasts and the water first thing.

How do you get past the fact that your drink color is an Army green? emoticon

It's weird...when it started blending I saw a beautiful bright raspberry color and then it turned Army green. Yuk! The ingredients were 50% spinach, 1 small banana, 1/2 c. frozen raspberries and my usual plant-based protein powder. I've used my protein powder many times before and never saw this color.

Ugly, but delicious!!!

The problem I found was buying a bunch of kale, not that big, but I don't
want kale every day. I assume that this can be frozen and used like other
frozen foods. The same holds true by the different bunches of lettuce. In
one week, they will have to be dumped if not eaten. I want to try a different
smoothie each day. I plan to cook the remaining kale and eat it with
a common meal.

Use ur nutrients guide here on Spark, and see what ur drink is supplying u with, as far as what is in it. My one Nutriblast has 300 + calories and a huge amount of potassium which we don't seem to get enough of. But 3 of these drinks a day would blow potassium out of the water. I only drink the one, the rest of my day is more normal as far as my choices. I have been trying to cut back on any dairy. Is there something in the drink that u normally don't get? That could be affecting u? I love my Nutriblast, first one was awful, now I am used to them. If u still eat or continue to eat refined foods and fatty foods, it can affect u as well, and ur Nutriblast can become just a green drink and not a healing drink.

Thanks for the information...I will start grinding my flax seeds....but I am still unsure if I am drinking to much...is it ok to drink the entire large mixture in the mornings? I don't understand why when I made my first smoothie I felt wonderful but each one after has caused problems.Has anyone else had any of these problems??? I am not one to eat veggies....canned veggies are what I usely eat.I will continue with the smoothies....

Just remember with flax seeds, they will do you absolutely no nutritional good if you don't grind them first. Chia seeds on the other hand don't need to be ground and you will reap the benefits of the Omega's. Not only that they are higher in omega's than flax seeds. I use them ALL the time. They thicken the smoothies quite nicely.

I am going to do some further research on what you wrote. I just found a whole bunch of good things that cinnamon does for the body and being a health coach, I am always interested in information people find to the contrary.

It does pay to do your research... and always good to err on the side of caution. Thanks for posting that info...

I am still having trouble with my shakes....do most of you drink the large drink in the morning or do you have a small cup....do you grind your chia seeds and flax or just put in drink and grind...I put spinch,fruit,flax and chia seeds and then walnuts...first time I had the shake I felt great...lately not so much.Any suggestions???
