Since the last time I wrote, the storage shed is up. Today igathered shingles from all over the yard to put in the new shed and it wlll act as the floor. ave alred started putting things in the shed.
I am goin start making sjelves to go on the onw aisw. i took a sleep pill amd dK am call it a nighy

Had a bunch of canned goods. rice and peanut butter given to me today. There is quite a bit of canned fruit so I am going to mix up some sugar free jello and put some fruit in it just for a special treat. Noticed today that the radishes are coming up. I don't know of any way of preserving them. I am open to suggestions. I found out last year that I like them fried. Will see about baking some this year. Nothing else much going on around here. Keeping busy per usual.

cleaned a flower bed, worked up a small area and planted, lettuce, radishes,spinach.kale broccoli. Not a lot of any of it. It is in the ground and tomorrow we are supposed to get rain

I haven't made Barbie clothes in ever so long. The one year I made fur hats and coats. They were sharp/ Don't do that kind of tedious work any more . Since I got my new glasses I might be able to but it takes so much fine work and my fingers do not work as they used to. You will have to post pictures!!

I had taken some pictures when I first started making the hats but have never transferred them from my phone. What I have to do is get them printed out, scan them to the computer and then I can share them. I keep forgetting to take the phone card in and getting it done. The one I s experimenting with I don't like but I finished two other ones during my down time. Ifmy fingers really fly I can crochet one in an hour but then it takes another hour to make an embellishment for it

Took two more hats to the c enter today. Have another one I am experimenting with. Will have to wait and see how it comes out. The ones today were Pink trimmed in white with a white flower trimmed in pink the other one was the same colors but it was white trimmed in pink. Looked pretty good.

Amen and Amen! I have already t old her that. Just got back a little bit ago. Went to see Jeff and take out three hats I had crocheted. Looked through at the ones that have not been taken yet to get an idea of what I need to put together. It looks as all the ones that I have made flowers on are all taken so my fingers will start to fly again this evening. Can't go to the center empty handed tomorrow. I might make a daisy hat today. Will have to see what colors I have. Thanks you so much for the prayers and the encouragement

Thanks all prayers are more than appreciated. She will not be able to return to work until after the 25th. Finances will be very tight for her. I pray that she will trust the Lord to get her through all of this as she does not need added stress about bills and etc.

Finished putting up the shelves and am almost finished putting things away It started getting a little chillier out so I came back in and am going to get some crocheting done. I am finishing up an a cap and will start another one yet. I may even get around to working some on the afghan.
The MRI on my daughter did not show anything so tomorrow they will be seeing if she has some muscle problems. I did not go out today as I have been sick to my stomach and don't know why and figure she doesn't need me out there if I have something that is catching. While Jeff is at the cancer center I will go up and see what is going on then.

I am rebuilding a cabinet I have here. It is in good shape except for the bottoms of the two sides. I have the boards to replace them with. Have some other things to get done before I tackle that job. When I was at Home Depot yesterday they had their seeds, buy one, get one free. I got some spinach, lettuce and I am not sure at this moment what else, but all early planters. Hope to get them out within the next week. Will be finishing the storage shed today.

I meant to tell you that a few years ago, I insulated the garage so even though it is not heated it does not freeze . Got strawberries worked up yesterday and in the freezer. Will do another quart today when I get ready to have a serving. I transplanted my tomato seedlings today Hope they do well.

Thanks for the run down. I certainly have more than a good start on things. I have a very large cabinet in the garage that I use for food. I may take some plastic storage boxes and get more of the rice, beans and etc in them. I know that I am not as prepared as I should be, but it is a goal to work towards. Right now we could get by without the frills for probably a month. I will have to get busy and do as I used to and get some chili canned and things like that. If I get chicks this spring and have them at my sons, i will get the fast growers and have them butchered and then can the meat and broth. I used to do all of this but as I have gotten older I have not done as much. You are an inspiration. I will just need to get things going. Thanks for the encouragement. I will also try to get things put up just in case my son and his family and my daughter and her family need some assistance. Michael has access to a good well but Paulina and I do not. THE BASICS OF FAMILY HOME STORAGE
THREE-MONTH SUPPLY~

Build a small supply of food that is part of your
normal, daily diet. One way to do this is to purchase a
few extra items each week to build a one-week supply
of food. Then you can gradually increase your supply
until it is sufficient for three months. These items
should be rotated regularly to avoid spoilage.

DRINKING WATER~

Store drinking water for circumstances in which the
water supply may be polluted or disrupted.
If water comes directly from a good, pretreated
source then no additional purification is needed;
otherwise, pretreat water before use. Store water in
sturdy, leak-proof, breakage-resistant containers.
Consider using plastic bottles commonly used for
juices and soda.
Keep water containers away from heat sources and
direct sunlight.

FINANCIAL RESERVE~

Establish a financial reserve by saving a little money
each week and gradually increasing it to a reasonable
amount.

LONGER-TERM SUPPLY~

For longer-term needs, gradually
build a supply of food that will last a long time
and that you can use to stay alive, such as wheat,
white rice, and beans.
These items can last 30 years or more when properly
packaged and stored in a cool, dry place. A portion of

I don't know what you mean by a food storage. Would be interested in knowing. My tomato seeds sprouted but they may have been too long with out enough light. They are tall and spindly. With everything else going on around here, I forgot to check them until yesterday. I might just go ahead and replant. I will be getting some seeds in by next week.

Planted seeds yesterday to start my tomato plants indoors. I have 36 little peat pellets planted with three different varieties . I may see about getting seeds for a larger cherry tomato. A few years ago I had cherry tomatoes coming out the ears so I canned them whole and every time I ate one it was a taste explosion. I believe that fI am going to try to find my wide mouthed jars and can some bread. I have not done that for a while.

Today while I was out getting the chicken feed, I picked up some tomato seeds. and a pkg of pepper seeds. Got the planting medium also. Looks as though I will have a garden. My one son's birthday is in a couple of weeks so I got him two grape plants. I have called him and told him to figure out where he wants them planted and maybe next week end I can take them over and we will get them in the ground. It will depend on the weather and how things are going here. Jeff has been in bed all day today. I have peeked in at him a couple of times just to make sure he is still breathing. God bless

I am in desperate need of getting some things stocked in. I have not bought much from the store since November and the pantry is missing some often used items. I will get it in another week. Jeff has five days at the hospital this week, but only three the next week so I will be hopefully free to take my list and shop.
