On a typical day, my motivation is...

Strong

I've never been one to fluctuate on something once I've decided that that's how I feel about it. I tend to make decisions regarding my emotions and roll with it. For me to act on something I have to be physically ready and emotionally ready. So since I've decided that I'm going to eat healthier, that's that. I've been physically ready for years, but not quite emotionally ready until the beginning of this month. Bam! Healthier eating habits.

I like Lipton's Cranberry Pomegranate and their Orange Passion Fruit and Jasmine teas. I like them both without sugar or sweeteners.

I could probably drink my weight in regular old sweet tea every day, as I'm from the South. For special teas, I like the Strawberry Kiwi from Teavana, or creamed Chai tea on ice. Thai tea (minus the tapioca balls) is also a weakness of mine.

Hmm... since I am in Italy and so don't get to do 'american' food all that much, I would say that this year is going to be 'eat, drink and be merry', especially since some friends of mine from the US are coming over =). I will try to pay for it later in the gym lol.

Oooh, this is a tough one. I think becoming a parent would be the ultimate moment for me. I have lived in fear for so long that I would never find the right guy and never be a mother. I finally did find an amazing man about 4.5 years ago and we got married just over a year ago. Now to make the rest come true...(hoping weight loss makes it happen a little easier/healthier!)

Definitely getting to my goal weight would make me happiest -- I'm lucky to have a great job, friends and family near by, and the marriage thing will happen in its own time. But getting to my goal weight would open up activities and hobbies that I want to be able to do, give me more energy and motivation to get through my day, and have a better figure so i can dress a bit better and feel more comfortable socializing with my friends.

I think getting to my goal weight would be a catalyst for many of these other things. I lack confidence which means getting my dream job or meeting someone & falling in love is something I don't think I can do yet.

For me it would be spending more time with my family and friends. My family lives several hours away from us so we only get to see them around 4 times a year. Lots of our life long friends live in different provinces so we don't get the opportunity to visit them often or them us.

I'm awful at lunges unless they are lateral so definately squats!

I prefer working out on the elliptical machine and treadmill....or just going for walks in the park. Squats and Lunges are too hard my my knees.

I dont go out too often, student wages aren't fun! But when I do, I normally try and order a healthier meal on the menu or change the side to cooked veggies or salad emoticon

I rarely go out to eat, as I prefer spending time cooking myself. However when I do go out I always order a salad (preferably salad bar, so I can fill up emoticon ) and I try to go for a healthier meal option. I almost always go for chicken, preferably grilled.

How do you usually lighten up your restaurant orders?

Ask for no butter/oil
Ask for dressing/sauce on the side
Split the meal with a friend/take other half to-go
Replace meat with beans
Order smaller portion/half order
I don't eat out
Something else not listed here



If the meal comes with pop...I will ask for water instead. If the meal comes with a bun I will give it a pass. If there is a choice between soup or salad ...I will order the salad with dressing on the side.
