It sounds to me like you might be pushing too hard and running too fast to start with. Start out slow and work your way up to a full "run." I know that's a hard thing to do, but it might be what's going on. Just a hunch. I wouldn't really know, I'm a beginner myself. Best of luck to you!!

I will be glad when you get your answer so I will know myself. This weekend I have a little play money so I am going to buy my training gear.

Goal- 5 pounds a month
I have always been a terrible running, and it seems like no matter how hard I try to push myself, I never improve!
But I want to become a police officer... so run, and I am going to improve, and I am GOING to LOVE it.
But right now itt kills, and I tire out so fast. The middles of my feet cramp up, then my calves get so tight, it feels like I have a HUGE charle horse... (All within the first 10 minutes of running)
I think I should maybe get my feet/running looked at! I didn't even know there was such a thing until I read an article on this forum!
I seem to land on the insides of my feet (the ball of my foot by my big toe!)My sister is a stronger runner than I am, and I notice she lands more mid-foot (on the outer parts of her feet)... I've been trying to walk/run and focus on landing more on the outer parts of my feet... It seems to feel better..
I have researched running form many times, and I believe im doing everything else fine! (i.e. not clenching my hands, not tensing my shoulders, using proper breathing.. etc.)
Could this be a foot problem?! Should I get some shoes or insoles that will help? Or does anyone have any other tips?
Thanks in advance!
