Thanks everyone! I personally feel like slow and steady wins the race! :) lol. I'm seriously considering an 8K in March! Wow! Who am I?!

You're faster than me! I started running the whole 5K on Labor Day and my PR is 34:22. I am super slow but am still chugging along!

That's awesome! And don't worry about speed! There will always be walkers and run/walkers in a 5k! Just completing it is a huge accomplishment.

Congrats on making it to 3.1! That's awesome! I don't know anything about racing, as I've never done one. But, I think that 11 min/mile should be fine. That would put you around 33 minutes to finish, and I know I've read other people's race reports that say you always tend to go faster in an actual race. Good luck!

After training for a few months I've finally made it up to 5K yesterday! I am really excited! I have my first actual 5K race the sunday after Thanksgiving!! I was going pretty slow though, do you guys think I need to go faster than an 11 minute mile at an offical race? That's the pace that "feels best" for me. I could probably go faster but I wouldn't enjoy it as much. :) My husband is up to 3.5 miles! I am so stinking proud of us! hahah! Just thought I'd share a success story!(Hopefully not my last!) :)
