I have been running for 3 month July was not a good month but i am picking it up this month.
My body changed since i began to run, I am tone all over MY calves are defined my thighs are tones and my butt is toned and i lost inches and weight my stomach went down also.

Well I've only been running a few months. My calves are more defined and my thighs are thinner. This is good because shameful as it it to say it I had to use Vaseline (petroleum jelly) for the first month to stop my thighs from chaffing. But then I've always had legs like tree trunks its part of my build. I've lost about three inches of my waist. I had to mix strength and cardio as you need to get your bones and muscles prepared for running it can put a lot of pressure on joints. My arms have toned up a bit . i still have the spare tyre but at least it doesn't look like one of a tractor these days!

The other thing I have noticed is that I have far more energy in the evenings and my stamina has really improved. I'm no longer out of breath after two flights of stairs.

My legs are shaplier than they have ever been. And my butt is almost gone...Yay. Losing 40 pounds helped a lot, but running has given me calf & thigh muscles I did not have before.

I've been running for about 2 months, so my body is still changing and getting used to running. I've noticed my calf muscles are becoming more noticeable and Hubby says my butt looks good...whatever that means.

Since I've been running, I've lost 5 inches in my thighs... not total but in each thigh! The other day my husband was running behind me and he said, your calve muscles are really getting some definition! Woohoo! I haven't lost as many inches in the midsection, but I know that is usually the last place to lose.

I think toning really depends on a lot... how fast you lose the weight, genetics, age, etc. I do have some saggy skin, but it's not nearly as bad as I thought it might be.

Leg muscles!!! I have always had very skinny calves and hated them. Now I have shapelier calves. I also have much more muscular legs. My husband compliiments me on that often. I also feel my abdominal area being more tone but not as much change there as in my legs!

Hi everyone! I truly am a beginning runner, and I wanted to know from those of you who have been running for awhile- what changes have you noticed in your body?

I've never been able to run, until just this past week I jumped on the treadmill and just went for it. The feeling is quite amazing!

I'm still in the process of losing a bit of weight, so I'm interested to know how running tones the body and changes your shape. Thanks in advance to those who post back!
