Did the Heros Run Sunday, a 2 mile run, mostly walk in 33 minutes. I was really expecting to be much slower due to my knees slipping earlier in the week, but this is almost my normal speed for a walk/run (slow, but steady, that's me. :-D ) so I'm pretty happy.

I ran 5.5k today. At about 2k my little toes started to burn. They've been rubbing against my sneakers lately. I wrapped them with cotton and bandage tape but it didn't work very well. I'm excited that I did more than 5k anyway! yay!!

Well crap! Barely 1 mile before my "floating" kneecap floated itself out of place. Limped back home to find a brace to put on.
Back to walking soon I hope.

I only did a mile yesterday but it was on a rough hiking trail instead of on the streets in town, so it was more diffiult. Followed it with 5 miles more of hiking.

Mandy one great program to use is the c25k program found on coolrunnings.com. If you have a smartphone there is also a c25k app that is free and that you can play your own music in the background. It starts out slowly with intervals of walking and running and builds up. It's a 9 week program, 3 days a week. Many of us have repeated weeks or days until we felt ready to move on. I've used it in the past. But it does build up the length of time of running without walk breaks and I really like the Jeff Galloway plan with walk/run intervals. Some people do marathons with that plan. I am currently doing 30 sec running/30 sec walking. Before the heat got to me and I got sick this summer I was doing 1 min run/1 walk except if I was running on trails, which was harder. Then I would do the 1 min run/2 min walk. When I did a 5k last fall using the 1/1 method I actually did better than when I had done 5ks doing the whole thing trying to run. Those are just a couple of different options. Also go slow. Build up endurance and then later you can work on speed but there is no rush. Go as slow as you need to.
Good luck and you can do it!!

Hi Mandy! I have only been running since mid February, so I'm not one to give you advice. I think you'll find others here that will have some good input for you. Welcome!

I ran 2.9 this morning. Wish I would have known, I would have made it an even 3! :)

I am new to running after so long of not running since high school.
I had many health issues and a torn legiment in my foot and I also have curvature of my spine.
I ran after my 5 year old today for about 5 minutes. I got so huffed and puffed after I know how out of shape I am. I want to run but I'm not sure how to start with out injuring my self

One point eight soggy miles (even on the treadmill). We have flash flood warnings in effect. I guess we need the rain ...

I think I've tried all of the running apps I downloaded in this one workout! Kind of frustrated with all of them. I may go back to the podcasts I used before, KSS rule works there.

I am intrigued by Zombie, Run, but am having a problem getting it on my phone. I think a bit of shopping for an SD card is in my future?
