Thanks for the note re-Bravissimo.

Yes - I do shop online with this company, however, it's not very common to find 8G Sports Bra's even here...

I usually buy 10FF which means I'm forced to wear the bra on the tightest setting from day 1 which isn't ideal but what I'm forced to live with most of the time...

After years of searching, I have found the perfect sports bra. I will keep buying these until I can no longer find them. I wear a 38 G. It's the Panache Sports Bra and it comes in various colors. I buy it a a lingerie boutique shop and they can order in different colors. It's about $65, but so WORTH it. My ladies don't bounce at all AND it's attractive too! No uniboob.

I just saw you can order it online for probably less that what I paid!

Outdoorfreak, have you ever been to Bravissimo? Its a British company, but they start band sizes at 28 and cup sizes go up to KK. Even though I live in the US I buy from these guys, they have an excellent selection! They also do sports bras. emoticon

Thanks for the tip LOSINGIT1983 - but I've just been to Wacoal site and they don't do 30H...they start at 32 size range...grrrrrr...

While I love my small back and big boobs, it's a curse when shopping for bra's....!!!!!

The Wacoal sports bras look very very similar to the Bendon ones I have...they are a similar price - expensive! - another curse of having a not so common bra size....

Will anyone ever help women like me out?! I can but dream, ha ha....

YattaGirl,

I'm not sure where you're located but I have found the Moving Comfort Bras at The Running Room, runningroom.com. I live in BC Canada, but they are a North American company. The one in my town didn't have a super wide selection of their bras, but enough to get a sense of their fit for me.

40E, and LOVE the moving comfort Maia. It does not create a uniboob, and provides lots of support. The girls stay nice and secure while I run. :-)

I bought 2 bras from Walmart made by Playtex, and they fit better than any I've had in a long time, and they were marked down to $10.

OK: so I'm an 8G, which I believe is a 30H in US sizes, and there is no brand I've found other than Shock Absorber that comes in this size.

I find this brand really, really uncomfortable so have only ever bought one...

The sports bra I've found to be the best is made by a small NZ manufacturer called Bendon; Extreme Out I think it the style I like best...they don't do an 8G so I wear a 10FF which fits fine on the tightest setting at the back.

The reason I love this sports bra is it doesn't make you feel constricted or "flattened" like so many others do...just completely supported...check it out here http://www.bendonsport.com/collections/?vi
ew=sport

If anyone can introduce me to an alternative that is as comfortable in 8G I will love you!!!

Hi Nicole,

For your jogging, you are going to want a high impact bra. For your cup size, we recommend sports bras that provide a combination of compression (the style you are wearing now) and encapsulation, which refers to a bra that surrounds and supports each breast individually. This structure helps to protect the breast tissue from horizontal, vertical, and circular motion during sports activities. You may really love our Maia bra that offers this combination. http://www.movingcomfort.com/Maia/350011,d
efault,pd.html

As for the 'life' of a sports bra, we say no bra should celebrate a birthday! They should be replaced every 6-12 months depending on usage and frequency. Fabric and elastics break with age and, just like running shoes, they will stop working effectively and potentially cause discomfort.

KAREN42BOYS, we are so glad that you are fan of the Fiona. There are two other styles that you may like as well. The Jubralee has similar features to the Fiona but may add a bit more separation, and the Maia is an underwire style that provides high impact support without the uniboob look.

We recommend checking out herroom.com. They have a great selection of sports bras in an incredible range of sizes. The spillage from the sides indicates that you probably need a larger cup size. We hope you find something that works for you!

Thanks for the links, SVASarah! I am a 36DDD or bigger. I found a few possibilities at Bare Necessities a few weeks ago, but I did not know about the other sites. Cool! Off to do more research!

34DDD here. I have bought 4 or 5 of the Moving Comfort Fiona bras. I'm a long distance runner and these bras have been very comfortable. They do uniboob me some, but I'd much rather be comfortable when I'm out there doing my thing. They also minimize some in a way I like.

I am a 34G and have ALWAYS had problems with sports bras. I've been jogging on and off since high school (OMG 20 years) and used to have to wear THREE bras at the same time to run comfortably (tight minimizer, regular underwire, and uniboob). Then I found Wacoal. These babies are EXPENSIVE. Like $60-$70 expensive. BUT: they work. I will never have to look further than Wacoal, for sports and everyday bras.

Nicole,
As someone who used to wear the 38/40 DD "uniboob" bra, I cannot tell how many BETTER sports bras there are out there. After being properly sized/fitted (not by Victoria's Secret), I took my size (34F) and started using that to buy bras for all purposes. The straps of some might look unattractive or thick, but the support should really come from the band.

Honestly, the brands at some of the websites I'm going to list have different sizing requirements, --for example, a 34F in one might be a 34FF in another-- so be sure to look into that or go to a local lingerie store and have someone help you:
www.biggerbras.com/
www.barenecessities.com/
www.herroom.com/
(This site has a great sizing/fitting guide: www.biggerbras.com/how-to-fit-a-bra.
sh
tml
)

Some brands I've worn that fit us "large-busted girls":
Freya, Panache, Le Mystère, Enell

I hope this helps! The right bra can make you feel and look fit & healthy!

Hello - hopefully this will lead me in the right direction, as I was just in Kohl's browsing & there wasn't a very good selection for larger busts.

My bra size is 38/40 DD.... what I am wearing now is a basic "x-large" uniboob style - that is extremely old too. My main goal is support & comfort & my current workouts are jogging & circuit training.

So I have few questions:
1. What are some good makes/styles I should look for?
2. How long is the "life" of a sports bra?

Thanks,
Nicole
