WARNING- Long post alert! lol

Good morning Duckies!

I am getting extremely frustrated. I can not seem to get out of the 150's. I have hit 151 twice. I NEED TO GET MY EATING IN CHECK PEOPLE. I am up 2lbs today, with what I believe is water weight. I know what I put in my face and while it was not healthy, it was not worthy of 2 lbs of actual gain. But still. Holy frustrated Batman. Grr I have been stuck in the lower 150's for a month. A MONTH. The ONLY reason why is food.

Back in the day I had these Richard Simmons VHS tapes. Don't laugh, I love me some Richard Simmons :) Anyway he said on one of them, if you are not losing weight "it has something to do with the fork" It has stuck with me all these years and it is 100% correct. All the exercising in the world can't erase what you eat. You might be the fittest fatty on the planet, lol, but you will still be fat and you won't lose weight. You MUST eat properly.

I just wish it wasn't so difficult. Anyway I need to kick it into Game On mode if I ever hope to see the 140's much less my damn goal weight.

So it is game time girls! I need to get into the 140's by early next week. The 150's are pissing me off. LOL I work to hard to be stuck!

6W6P really works out your obliques and triceps. I wish Jillian added triceps stretches with her cool down. The first few days (both with 6W6P and ES&S) I didn't do any and my triceps hated me for it. So now I add that stretch. They really need if after all those plank moves.

I actually figured out those damn hip heists on ES&S L2!! Darn things need an engineers degree to figure it out but I got it. Not as hard as I thought, just needed to figure it out. I presently struggle with the push up afterwards but I am working on it.

Man, L2 of 6W6P can be evil. But I did it. Not seeing much change but I also gained a wee bit over the last week. Meh, either way I am still keeping at it and kicking Jillian's butt.

Good Morning Duckies!

I went to Missouri last week to watch my son graduate basic training. Apparently I also wanted to watch my waistline expand because when i arrived home I was up 4 lbs. I am only up 2 from when I left now. I will get those other 2 lbs off this week. Just wish I didn't have to. Losing them once should have been enough! ;)

The trip was very nice though. I got to watch my son graduate which was awesome and I got to meet one of my Spark friends! I also got to see one of my girlfriends that lives in the area. We were only gone about 43 hours total and 24 of those hours were spent driving. So yeah, we were tired. lol

I am back on track now, as of yesterday. I am glad. I am also glad to be home. I have a very busy work week this week though. That stinks. lol

Have a quackalicious day ladies!

Meretoni - It took me a long time to get the hang of that move, too. I've always had trouble with pendulum lunges and that is like a SUPER complicated pendulum lunge! I still whack myself in the leg with my weight sometimes during the pass-through part. And I have nearly keeled over doing those high-lows and the repeater knees that you do at the end of them. I have no balance whatsoever! I need an extra leg, or something. emoticon

Continued my weirdly random workout week yesterday with Week 4 of Rin30. I think I manged to hit nearly all the Jillian DVDs I own this week! It was kind of fun. Taking today off but will probably take the dog for a long walk later when it cools off a bit. Hope everyone is having a great weekend! emoticon

When a workout has BURPEES in it's WARM UP that should give you a clue as to how intense it is. Sure she calls them up & downs because according to her burpees include a jump when you stand up, but they are burpees. Don't sugar coat it Jillian, you evil imp you.

Some exercises I couldn't keep my balance, such as doing lunges with twisting your arms (while holding a weight) around to the side. Eventually that will get better, this I know. And I might complain at the insanity of it but I won't go back to level 1. It is now my goal to kick this level's @ss!!

Ok so Level 2 of Extreme Shed & Shred is ROUGH. One exercise I am going to have to sit and watch her do it again because it is, well kinda acrobatic. And her second to last circuit is evil. I am sore. But today is Level 2 of 6W6P, so I need to put my game face on. Grrrr!!

Ugh, last week was bad, both diet and exercise-wise, but I am trying to get back on track! My eating is back under control and this week has been a fun hodgepodge of workouts -- did several circuits from NMTZ on Monday, several circuits of BFBM yesterday, and this morning it was Level 2 of 6W6P. I kind of like this mix-it-up approach, I have to say! Might even add Rin30 or 30DS back into the mix at some point, just for fun! emoticon

Yesterday's Extreme S&S was the last one on Level 1. Tomorrow I upgrade to Level 2.. eep! And scarily today is my proposed last day of Level 1 of 6W6P. This one I am iffy on. Jillian's plan for 6W6P is to do each level for 3 weeks, everyday. I only do it on Tuesdays and Thursdays, although this is technically week 3 I will only be doing it Tuesday. I will give Level 2 a try Thursday and see from there if I should scale back to Level 1 for a bit longer. But hopefully not!

You all are doing great!

Me not so much this week. My exercise has been excellent, my eating though, that is a different story! No excuses really. It is what it is. As of Friday morning I SOMEHOW had a loss for the week but tomorrow on my weigh in day I doubt it will be there. Last night was bad. I let my bf guilt me into eating late at night and my choice of food was horrendous. Le sigh.

We shall see. I kicked my own butt today and have been drinking tons of water. My eating is on track. Hoping to salvage the loss I did have my mitts on or at the very least not have a gain.

In fact I think I will go for another walk after this episode of The Biggest Loser is over. Stupid jerk of an episode made me cry...and I mean a lot. Stupid show. lol

Here's to killing it next week!

Go Duckies!

Welcome to August Meretoni! Glad you came.

Kathy-dust the sand of yesterday from your feet. Today you did something good for yourself and that's what counts!

Today I realized that I wasn't going to let yesterday affect me either. I had planned to go to the gym but I laid down instead and didn't get back up, lol.
So after work today, I did my workout from yesterday and my run for today- I was a hot mess afterward but I got to eat carrot cake! Yum!

Well goodmorning ladies!
I see I'm not the only one with the pendulum lunges issues. LOL

I am having a bright and sunshiney happy day! Yesterday I was exceedingly productive and got a ton of stuff done and got my run in on top of that! Oh happy happy joy joy!

Today is my gym day and I know it will be great. I am amazed just how good I feel after sweating out the toxins!

On a side note, I am getting noticed. My new nickname at the office is the incredible shrinking woman, lol! I wish this lovely feeling would last forever, but I know it doesn't. We all have good and bad days, highs and lows. I totally live for the high.

Have a great day peeps!

That is my problem with KBFF, too -- I am so uncoordinated! I had a ton of trouble with the pendulum lunges on 30DS because I just could not figure out what I was supposed to be doing and how to move like that. I think that was my problem with Yoga Meltdown, too. I can't follow along when they are stringing all those moves together! I couldn't even follow the tutorial on KBFF!

It's back to Level 2 of 6W6P for me this week! There are some pedulum-style lunges there, too, but I've got them down now. It just took doing them about 4,000 times for me to get it! emoticon

Sassy you and your twin will rock Body Revolution! :)

To clarify my issue with the KBFF it is not the difficulty level that I am having a hard time with. I am sure I could handle the difficulty level if I could DO the actual moves. It is the fact that, it might as well be a dance dvd. It has "choreography" and I am extremely uncoordinated. Trust me, I am not being self deprecating. That is a fact. I simply am unable to sting that many moves together that quickly.

I get the punch punch and by the time I get to upper cut they are 2 moves ahead of me and I am am fumbling and scrambling to catch up. It is not a workout when I cant get my arms and feet to move in different directions in quick succession. I can't do step aerobics either. Separately I can do every move. But strung together like she does. No freaking way. I did try. I will likely try again but I do not expect different results. I am clumsy with that sort of thing. I can want to be graceful and coordinated but I may as well be wishing for blue eyes or a pile of money cuz I will get the same results lol :)

Autum you can to do the kick box one it really is not that bad,,,in fact that was my first Killian workout! I think 30 day shred is much worse.
But alas I am doing body revolution right now with twin, so that is the only Killian I can do...that one trys to knock me down and I am only in phase one. It is however getting better!
I will not let the wench beat me!

Autumn, I've been doing NMTZ this week and that's exactly how I do it -- I just pick and choose which circuits to do on any given day. I usually try to hit the chest & abs, core, upper body & core, lower body & core and then I might add in one of the others to get my arms/legs. I got used to the time that 30DS and some of the other DVDs took so that is the time I have blocked out for my workout -- I don't really have time for the full NMTZ workout every day. It works for me -- I do get sore and I feel like I'm getting a full workout in and not half-assing any of it.

Ashley, so glad you have found your groove and are doing what makes you happy! I've been seriously thinking about going back to more cardio soon because I do love walking/jogging/running but I need the weather to cool of where I live first. Even indoors on the treadmill it's too dang hot!

Taking the weekend off and then it's back to Level 2 of 6W6P next week. I am less than 3 pounds from my goal weight thanks to Killian beating the crap out of me and all of you supporting me -- THANK YOU!!!!

I got a little light exercise in yesterday. Truth be told, I was groggy, lazy, and didn't intend on doing any. But one of my good friends dared me to do one burpee. Swear to god she said "I dare you to do one burpee." She had to dare me. It's like saying I know you won't do it. So I HAD to do it. And then I thought well that is stupid-one burpee. So I did 60 jumping jacks, 50 crunches, 1 min wall sit with dumbbell curls, & 30 squats. Did this 3 times. Took 12 minutes. I still thought "this is stupid." lol So I took the dog for a mile walk. Dang her for daring me. ;)

I also want to note that the other day I did NMTZ except I skipped 2 sections. (the first circuit and the circuit with the surrenders) I have to say there was quite a difference. I got a much better workout. I was mildly sore the next day. I was able to do all the exercises properly and with gusto. I had never realized how fatigued my muscle got by the halfway point before. In total with the warm up and cool down it was 41 minutes of exercise. That dvd takes me about 50 min so those 2 circuits must be about 5 min long. Anyway I may do this every time. I will just switch up which parts I skip.

I am running late for work so I must go but I wanted to check in!

(btw I think I will have a good week weight loss wise-as long as I don't overdo it at the BBQ I am attending on Saturday!)

You two are hilarious!

I feel that this week has been very successful. All I am doing is running and the elliptical and I am feeling better and not as stressed and just all around happy! I am still on the fence about doing bodyrock routines on the weekend (yeah, I know that it's cheaper than buying yet another JM DVD, but I find it hard to make myself workout on the weekend without someone like Jillian shouting out orders).

Elliptical today, running tomorrow...it's bound to be a great finish to a great week!

Oh yeah. I tried it. It wasn't pretty. lol I stopped for two reasons. 1-I know my limitations and 2- like you, I didn't feel like I was getting any kind of a workout. I don't know how many calories flailing spazmatically about burns...lol but I am guessing not many :)

Autumn, I am laughing so hard! I'm glad it's not just me, though! Did you try to do any of it? I did try to do the tutorial but she was going so fast, and holy cow, I cannot keep all those punches and kicks straight! I know if I started it I would eventually catch on (maybe?) but I wouldn't feel like I was getting a workout until I REALLY caught on, you know? I'd just sort of be flopping all over the room! Maybe I can use it as a cooldown from another workout. emoticon emoticon

OMG! LOL! Kathy! Holy hell...yeah Kickbox Fastfix is playing right now as I type this. LMAO There is no way in bloody hell I can do this workout. I need to explain to Jillian-I can only put a max of 3 moves together.! This is obscene LMAO It looks like a good workout as I watch from the couch...

Totally shaking my head. I am definitely gaining strength and endurance but you are either coordinated or not. I am not. Nine dollars and 69 cents + tax- down the drain.

I am so sad. It looks fun-well fun in that kick-your-ass kind of way.

Let this be a lesson to all- If you can not do choreography then you can not do this workout! lol

Well I went to do the workout and the dvd kept pausing on it's own and there was NO sound. GRRRRR Looks like I need to take it back.

I did a 14 min segment of Bollywood I found on here instead. I am sweating profusely! 97 calories burned in 14minutes sounds good to me! lol Now I am off for a hike at the park!

Uh oh Kathy....I am uncoordinated too! LOL This will be interesting. If I can ever muster up some energy ( I only got 3 hrs of sleep last night and I desperately need a nap) I will do it then come back here and report my findings! :)

So last week was Level 2 of 6W6P ... I really like it but I don't have the attention span to do the same workout for more than one week at a time. emoticon

So this week I thought I'd do Yoga Meltdown. Watched it Friday, looked good, started it today and now I know why everyone hates that one. Ugh! I only got a few minutes in and then I ejected it! No, thank you!

I ended up doing the last 4 circuits of NMTZ instead. Much better! I think I'll stick with that one this week, adding in circuits from the bottom up since core/abs is my priority right now. Next week will be my second week at L2 of 6W6P and then I guess I'll have to come up with something for the week after.

Autumn, I'd love to know what you think of Kickbox Fast Fix! I actually have that one and I did the tutorial a while back but it got me all confused. I am so uncoordinated it's not even funny! I'm not sure whether I'll be able to keep up very well with it but it sure looks fun!

Good morning ladies!

I am doing ok. I seem to be hitting a minor plateau..maybe. It is probably too soon to call it that but with only a .6 loss this week...who knows.

I bought Jillian's KickBox FastFix last night. I am about to test it out. After the fridge people come I am going for a hike. I hope anyway, the estimate they gave was between 11am and 3pm. I am crossing my fingers that they come early.

I added protein powder to my morning smoothie for the first time ever. It wasn't bad. THICK-very very thick. I felt bloated after. I am not hungry though. That is for sure.

I plan on cooking out of my new cookbook tonight :) Hope you all have a great day

Hey guys, did you know as far as ranking goes, we are 92 out of 198! I think that's pretty good considering we are still pretty new! How about along with our individual plans we band together and try to boost our rank this month! What do you say?!

Quack Quack! emoticon

p.s. Lori- I have often felt Jillian was nuts for what her idea of a cool down is. I can't remember which one it is but either BFBM or NMTZ she has jump rope as slowing your HR. CRAZY! And btw, your time does not suck. Mine is still at 15 and I am a hot mess when I am done, lol. I think once the weather changes and it gets a little cooler, you will see your time drop. I read somewhere that 65 degrees is optimal for running and it has been no where near that recently (unless you are running in the middle of the night)

p.p.s. Carrie- I am still mulling it over whether I am going to sign up for the Boots & Boas 5K. I am really nervous about it and I commend your bravery. I have 13 days to decide before the rate goes up so I will probably wait until the last minute! I am a terrible procrasti

Hey Quackers!

My awesome month of August started with the beginning of Kllian's body revolution! They hubs and the teen son doing it with me! WooHoo! First week is officially in the bag as of today! We are however repeating week one the hubs as not worked out in a long time!

It was not has bad as I thought it was going to be for work outs one and two, but let me tell you the cardio sucks. When you think that jogging in place is letting your heart rate drop, I just have to laugh!

It is what I needed to start to get my focus back,. Doing her workouts in the morning and than some sort of cardio at night. 3 days of which are running! still working on my time it still stinks at a 13 min mile. Will it ever get better?

Lets have an awesome August keep quacking!

Yes we will get through those tough spots together :)

I am doing my virtual 5K today. I also have not trained for it properly. I did 3 days week one, 2 days week 2 & 3. I did 3 days on week 4. This week I was supposed to train 2 days and race today. Well I trained 1 but I am racing anyway. We shall see how it goes.

In other news, in case you did not catch my blog, I signed up for a REAL 5K race today! I am super excited and very nervous! It is on Sept. 9 at 9a.m.

I believe I am only running my race today for fitness. I want to keep it light. I also do not believe I have lost much weight this week. I have done very well fitness wise and food I was pretty darn good about (couple days over in calories but only a tiny bit..nothing drastic and my activity was WAY up there) I weigh every day (please no lecture- this honestly works for me-keeps me accountable. I do not get spazzy about minor fluctuations or think my life is ending when the scale doesn't move. I am mentally sound lol) Anyway the sucker isn't moving. lol Guess my body says no this week. Tomorrow is my "official" weigh in day. So we shall see.

Other than that I have no fitness news. Oh wait I did my 6 miles yesterday in what I believe is record time(or at least tied for it) 94 minutes. That is pretty good for me. I usually come in at about 104 minutes or about 120 if I walk the whole thing.

Hope you all have a Quackin Day!

Quack Quack Carrie! Quack Quack emoticon

We will get through this month together Kathy, yes we will!

So the last 3 day were good I think. I ran and did the elliptical and ran a 5k yesterday. I didn't get the best time but I hadn't been training for it either, not like I should have been. Today I am venturing out into something a little different, I've done it some before but I am going to do a ZWOW when I get home after work. They are usually more intense than Jillian's but shorter sequences and shorter workouts overall (less than 20 minutes). I am still debating which one I want to do. Perhaps I will start at #1 and do #2 tomorrow, and then maybe if I can handle that, my weekends will be focused on those while my weekdays are running/elliptical. I'm still pondering it over but it sounds like a plan to me.

Have a great day y'all!

The end of July and beginning of August have been rough! My son had oral surgery last week and I did not get much done, exercise-wise. This week he was having a rough time with something else (he has special needs, a lot of challenges/issues) and that has taken its toll. I did manage to do Level 2 of 6W6P Monday through Friday of this week but I really was not feeling it, just going through the motions.

I do feel like maybe I need something gentler/easier until I can get my mind back on my fitness! Maybe I will hit the treadmill or start walking the dog early in the morning before it gets too hot. Maybe go back to Level 1 of 30DS or Ripped just to be moving a bit.

Sending lots of hugs to all of my fellow Duckies! We will get through the rough patches together! emoticon

Big GIANT Ashley hugs!

You are wise to understand what you need to do to stay focused. I do the same thing when I start to feel bored, or over taxed or just like irritated with all of the exercise. I go back to basics. I go for nature hikes, I walk the fitness trail around the lake, or I hit the treadmill. Those things are easy for me to WANT to do. I love being outside, looking at the trees, water, flowers, and animals. And I can watch tv on the treadmill! LOL

It keeps me going. I keep moving. Plus soon after "just walking" I start to feel antsy like I am not moving enough and that kicks me back into gear with other forms of exercise.

I believe you need to know yourself well. Be your own best friend and do what you need. We are all so different. I have a bunch of "mind tricks" I have to play on myself from time to time. lol But I know what they are-that is the key.

I support you 100%! I KNOW you can do this! I believe in you. I believe in all of us Duckies!

Can I get a "Quack Quack?" lol

xoxoxo

July started out great, but then I kind of fell apart at the end. This month I just want to do my best. I want to take back my focus. I'm starting slow, I may or may not include Jillian this month...I don't know, we may need to take a break in our relationship. Lol.

I'm starting off with the basics (running and elliptical) I don't want SO much pressure this month. I think that's why it all fell apart last month-too much pressure.

So I'm starting fresh, going slow and building up to where I want to be. Let's all just do our best this month!
