Hi All,

I haven't been by this team in a long time. Erica congrats girl! It seems like yesterday we were almost due with our last baby now you are back at it. emoticon

I took a Spark break in 2013 then came back on Spark in March of this year and was incognito. I was hiding because all the weight I had gained and even gained more weight than when I was pregnant!

I have lost 54lbs since then and finally ready to make it happen again.

Good morning to you too! Unfortunately I've been watching the scale creep up and I've got to grab the reigns as we are heading into holiday season. Workouts are coming along but my diet could definitely use some cleaning up. So I'm taking advantage of my workplace exercise facilities and really crank out these workouts. But of course, that all means nothing if I don't clean up my diet. Trying to find healthier swaps for my sweet and salty snacks.

Good morning everyone, just a quick update on what I've been doing the last few months I am currently 33 weeks pregnant with baby girl #3. I started out the pregnancy strong doing a combo of 21 day fix and Chalean Extreme and continued that until round ligament pain made me stop. I still attempt to walk as often as possible and watch what I eat and so far weight gain has been around 22lbs. Can't wait for November to come so I can meet this little one and start getting back in shape!

What has everyone else been up to?

I have been on/off spark people, but not very active on any groups. My lo is going to be 2 at the end of May. I feel like...wow...that's kind of the END of them being a baby, right? Well, we are having some nice weather this week and I plan to get out and enjoy it! Anybody around?

Super bummed my usually awesome eater has finally hit the stage where she starts getting picky, I was dreading it but this week she started spitting out avacados saying yuck (when she always previously loved them) and potatoes for some weird reason neither of my kids are big potato fans now (weirdos) I'm just waiting for more to come since my older daughter went through the same thing about this age I was hoping it was just her though lol wishful thinking

Welcome back and woo hoo, we should always be happy about a gain free vacation! :)

The kids are still sick doctor says its viral so nothing to do but wait it out

Spending a lot of time trying to organize my house and life this month just signed up to do the free 30 day push challenge to help me since I am not really an organized person by nature lol hoping that once everything is less chaotic the rest will fall into place and I'll have more time and energy for cooking and working out. Still doing turbo fire and now looking at getting the new 21 day fix next month the other coaches that I know who have tried it so far have gotten great results so I'm really excited to try that.

Hope you feel better soon!

Been gone a little bit- -- took lil guy to Disneyworld to watch a few friends run in the marathon. Then, had to travel for work right when I got back. So, now I'm back and focused on checking in, eating healthy and working out. Good thing is I didn't gain any weight while traveling. Didn't lose any, but didn't gain so I'm happy about that.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Me and the lil guy were sick too :( He was much better than me, but we still had a wonderful Christmas. My sister and her kids arrived Friday and just left this morning -- LOVED seeing them and miss them already.

While I didn't get a workout in today, I did eat well and feel really good about my health and fitness goals for 2014!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year's!

I haven't even wrapped the kids presents yet! oi

as far as the morning goes I have one that is up at 6 no matter what and another who would sleep till noon if I let her on weekends I just drag the 3 yr old in bed with me and she usually goes back to sleep for another hour or so luckily its the baby who likes to sleep in at our house lol I would just make sure that you have some good heavy curtains keeping out the light as that could be what's waking him up so early

I am! I still have a few gifts to buy, but am feeling better since I was able to start wrapping some presents tonight. It feels like it's come so fast this year!

I got in a great workout at the gym -- it's really helping me to get in me time and not at the end of the day when I'm exhausted and not fully into it. I'm aiming to get in 2-3 workouts each week and hope to extend that to 3-4 come January. I am fully committed to getting the baby weight off and then the additional weight I was carrying before becoming pregnant. I'm looking at fitness and health as a priority and a need, not just something I hope to make happen -- it really is a mindset change.

How's everyone else doing? Hopefully having a great weekend, filled with healthy food and some good fitness -- heard to fit in this time of year.

Now, if anyone has any tips on how I can get my little one to sleep in after 5:30a, I more than welcome the suggestions!

Kelly emoticon

I have been learning to become a morning person out of sheer need -- lil guy wakes between 5:30a and 6:45a ever since daylight savings At least it gets me up and going and provides a better chance I'll leave work at a decent hour and get in some gym time.

I was able to go once during the week last week and over the weekend Heading there tomorrow as well.

Went to bed early last night but still didn't manage to get up early! Ugh hit snooze like 10 times! I wish I was a morning person! I did get in a turbo fire workout last night but really feel like I need to at least walk in the morning to kick start my energy and metabolism guess I'll try again tomorrow morning

I agree on trying to go to bed earlier --I'm trying to do that as well. I'm going to try between 1030-1045; it's so hard when many times like tonight I just sat down for the first time and it's 9p already. Uggh!

Good luck dusting that treadmill off!! I've learned on the weekends, I need to just get up and get my workout done in the morning like I did Saturday. If I wait till later in the day, something tends to take up my time.

Keep up the great work everyone! We can do this!!! emoticon

Yes I think scheduling workouts in a calendar makes you more likely to get them done! I am struggling to find my motivation with it getting dark so early. I am going to try to force myself to be in bed no later than 10 this will be a major adjustment for me but I struggle in the mornings and I know that being less rushed right off the bat will help me in the rest of my day plus I want to unbury my treadmill and start using it in the morning I really need to keep my butt moving multiple times a day I think to get that energy back up!

Yes, we are lucky that we leave in an area with warm weather (las vegas), but I'm from the midwest so I know what it's like with those cold winters. I'm just happy that now I can get a workout in and he can play (otherwise, it's me trying to get in a workout at 9p at night and by then I'm exhausted). Especially now that he's out of his crib and suddenly decided that 5-6a is his wake up call.

I wasn't able to make it to the gym today -- with church, lunch, christmas shopping, baking, it just wasn't in the cards. But I'm not going to allow myself to beat me up for it. I've put it on my calendar to get in a workout on Tuesday. I'm trying to schedule my workouts in my calendar so I make sure to get them in.

Here's hoping everyone else got in a great workout this weekend!!!

How awesome! We live in a small town so there's not much for the kids to do here in the summer we walk and go to the park alot but now that winter is here and we're in single digit weather we haven't been going I was thinking of starting to take the kids back to the indoor pool at the school they have open swim a few days a week and its a dollar to get in just feel bad for them being cooped up on all the really cold days-of which there are alot!

Yes, I'm so happy he's now old enough that I feel comfortable with having him go while I workout. We went this morning and it was so great to get back into the gym. I got in about an hour and 20 minutes -- cardio and weights -- and Kooper got to play with other kids and have fun.

Planning on going again tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hi!

Been away a little bit, but back to it! I'm so excited -- I went and got my gym membership back today. They have a playroom too so Kooper and play while I workout. I wasn't comfortable letting him go there when he was younger but now that he's almost two, I feel better about it. He'll have such a good time playing and I'm so excited to get back to the gym (i do better workouts at the gym than at home). I want to lose 5 lbs before Christmas -- hoping I can do it.

Keep up the great work everyone!

Sorry I've been gone for so long. I took a few days off, then got sick and last night I pulled a muscle in my rib cage. I finally got back to the gym yesterday, but could hardly do anything since I've still got a wicked cough - also the cause of my pulled muscle.

This is driving me crazy! I just want to get well and get back into the gym!

Luckily I haven't gained any weight while being sick and laid up. Don't know how long that'll last though with how it seems to be one thing after the next. I'm going to try for the gym again tomorrow - even if it's just walking on the treadmill and some stretching.

Got in another great workout last night. Ate a little more than I wanted due to having work lunches yesterday and tomorrow. However, have my lunch packed and ready for tomorrow!

Thanks!!

I was able to get in a workout tonight -- very happy! I feel so much better after a good workout -- need to remember this feeling! I'm so frustrated with my body that I let myself make up excuses and talk me out of doing the stuff that will make my body feel better -- exercise! I used to LOVE working out and need to keep making myself a priority. Eating wise, I'm back on track and doing well -- now just got to get back into regular workouts.

Hope everyone is off to a great start to the week!!

Great ideas on breaking up the workouts. I have some great workouts loaded on my ipad so maybe I can get up and do 15 minutes in the morning and then take to work and do a little over lunch in my office.

Hope everyone had a great Friday!

ugh isn't the time change awful?! My kids were all screwed up this week because of it too.

Well good job getting the eating in line this week that's really the most important part! I feel your pain after working all day and then dealing with the kids at night its hard to make myself hit play I've been motivated to do it because I've been seeing great results over the last two weeks and that's kind of giving me the push I need right now but I've been where you are before too and sometimes what helped me was to break up my exercise throughout the day I would do 10 minutes in the morning just jogging in place, jumping jacks, high knees, mountain climbers running up and down the stairs ect to get my heart rate up and then I would do 10 minutes of strength on my lunch break I would squat while I waited for my lunch to heat up or do lunges side leg abductors ect or you could just walk for 10 min on your lunch then at night I would do my last 10 minutes usually a quick 12 minute step up dvd I have but youtube is full of 10-15 minute workouts if you need some ideas! Good luck getting it in this weekend!

Great Job Michelle!! On the studying and getting up at 7a.

EBERKSHIRE -- whoo hoo on that exercise streak!!!!

I have been eating well this week, but haven't gotten in a workout. I've been doing planks every night and trying to strengthen my core, but nothing else. I'm so exhausted by the time i get home from work, cook, get Kooper bathed and to bed. I finally sit down at 8:15 or so and then do work. Being up at 5:15a this week with Kooper adjusting to the time change.

I'm getting in workouts over the weekend, but trying hard to fit in just a little bit of exercise during the week.

Keep up the great work ladies!!!

Good for you Michelle. That is my biggest goal to be able to get up early and get an AM workout in. I am not a morning person so it almost never happens but I set my alarm early every night just in case lol.

Well fiancé and I had a big talk last night and decided that we're just not done with babies yet and we'd like to try for one more sometime within the next year. Part of me is thrilled at the thought of another little one. Pregnancy was pretty easy for me no sickness or anything but the thought of putting all those pounds back on that I just lost is stressing me out a little. I would really really love to lose another 10lbs before we get pregnant so I am pushing it extra hard the next few months and you can be sure I will still be here throughout pregnancy as well hoping I won't undo all the work I've already done :(

Hi everyone. I hope you all are enjoying your Tuesday. I have been studying and studying and studying and it finally paid off today. I took a test on Thursday in my Human Biology class and I was hoping for a 65 (which is passing) and when I saw it I was thrilled and jumped and did the O YA!! move I got an 80!! So my method of studying for that class has paid off. Now to keep it going. I only have 5 weeks left and this semester will be over!! Looks at this rate I'll have a nice C in this class and an A in my Medical Terminology.

Gavin has been a lot better lately with going to bed. I think it was just because his routine was changed quite a bit now that it is cold outside and this mommy hates cold weather. He's gone down pretty easy for the last week. I'm so happy about that too. It gets old and very frustrating when he gets so upset and refuses to go to bed. I'm so thankful that seems to have passed. This weekend will be fun with daylight savings time. Wonder what that will bring.

I've decided no matter what I'm getting up early again (7am) and getting in my workouts. My days off with be Tues and Thursday since I have class at 755am. Better get going gotta study so when we go to the mall to trick or treat I won't feel like I should be studying. Talk to you later!! Enjoy the day!!

Hello everyone!!

Keep up the great work with Gavin, Michelle. As mentioned he may rely on you too much and therefore feel he doesn't need to talk. When Kooper starts whining, I sit him down and tell him to use his words so I can help him. He will often then try and tell me what he wants or if I do give him something because he's pointing at it, I ask him to say please or thank you. Hopefully he's just leaning on mommy too much! :)

I got in a great workout this weekend --- actually made it to the gym and my thighs are sore today from it. Going to get in a workout tomorrow. Eating has been good so hoping I can keep that up (though the scale moved upwards a little -- not going to let it get to me -- just continue to focus on exercising and eating better).

Happy Monday everyone!

Well weekend eating was kind of bad I mean it could have been worse but it could have been better too. I'm starting my Chalean Extreme program over AGAIN from day 1 and am determined to complete the whole program this time! Back to clean eating today after a few cheats over the weekend. Have to just get this Halloween candy out of my house now :)

We actually had nice weather here yesterday for trick or treating it was in the 50's and with a few layers the kids were actually able to wear their costumes without a jacket so you could tell what they were lol. What is everyone's little ones going as this year? Grace was a witch and cora was an elephant :)

Thank you. I do say "cup" when he brings it to me and asks him if he wants a drink? He shakes his head now instead of grunting. He will grunt if I don't do it as fast as he'd like me to. Makes sense that I know what he wants since I am with him pretty close to 24/7. I will just work alittle harder with having him try to say certain things. He LOVES cars we can start there. I'm not really worried just yet he does try to say things but he doesn't say it loud enough for people to hear. He would see his Great Grandpa when he was here and say "popopopop" extremely quiet. It was cute but he hasn't since Grandpa went back home (CT).

I actually see this a lot at my Mom's daycare with new kids coming in. Is it possible he's not communicating because he doesn't have to? Sometimes with parents who stay home with their kids they spend so much time with them & they know all their cues so well kids don't really need to talk. They may point or grunt or even make up words/sounds for things but because you know what he wants you respond to the request even though its not a verbal one like when you said he communicates by handing you the cup when he wants more. This may start when they are too little to talk but continuing to respond to this form of communication means they have no reason to ever change the behavior as they grow why learn words if you don't need them right? Of course some children are just slower to talk then others and at 20months I wouldn't be overly worried but I would definitely make sure that when he's pointing to things or however else he is communicating to you that he wants something that you say do you want this cup this is a cup or something along those lines where you are telling him what it is, repeating the word and saying it slowly enunciating each letter its a pain in the butt but will really help him connect the words to the objects or even try some basic sign language with him. Kids are sponges they pick things up pretty quick a lot of kids that come into the daycare with speech delays get caught up in no time with a little one on one work. Good luck I know it can be frustrating when you can't communicate to figure out what the problem is.

He's never had one ear infection. I am 95% sure he can hear me because we ask him simple questions that he has to shake his head yes or no to and I call him from behind and he will turn around and smile. I'm now trying to sit and play with one thing and say the word and have him try to say it. I can only get him to say Baaaa when he sees a sheep and he smiles great big at a cow. He will look at a book and I can ask him where they are and he will find them. He just won't talk.

Kids usually start talking by 18 months, and it's something that the sooner they get it addressed the better they do. I'd suggest taking him in before he's 2 and having it looked into - especially if it's possibly an ear issue. Does he get a lot of ear infections?

Gavin is 20 months now and he is just getting worse with his eating. Drives me bonkers. We always eat at the dinner table but recently I found if the sound is off on the tv he is more focused. I only give him 2-3 things on his plate so it doesn't overwhelm him and I try to get him to try it all. Maybe I should only put 2 items and a smaller amount of each. One other thing.....he won't talk. That doesn't help much either. Our plan is when he goes for his 2 yr old check up if he still isn't talking then I'm going to ask the Doctor to recommend an Ear specialist and a speech therapist. I'm hoping that my SIL's cousin can take him since he already knows her. He still has 3-12 months and he tries but mostly just makes crazy sounds. He communicates with us by handing us his cup or going to the pantry to pick out a snack.

Picky eaters are so hard. MY 5 year old isn't very picky and she's great at trying new things, but she eats like a bird! My 16month toddler can out eat her any day! Things that have helped it are making sure there aren't distractions at dinner - we sit at the table, no tv or video games, etc. Also having her help make dinner and choose a veggie to go with dinner. When they out some time into it, they are more interested in eating it themselves.

We also have a rule of having to taste everything on your plate.

Oh, maybe starting with less on the plate too. As adults we over estimate how much a child needs and the visual for them can be daunting.

yikes hang in there Michelle picky eaters are tough! How old is Gavin again? Grace went through a phase like that around 2 I still made her try everything on her plate and if she didn't like it I didn't force it on her but I didn't make her anything else to eat either she would eat the fruit or vegetable drink her milk and that was it for the night no desert either. I know my mom (who does lunch with her at daycare) has the same policy you have to try at least one bite and then if you don't want it fine but there are no special orders. It seemed to work because she grew out of it pretty quick every now and then she'll still pull it with something but I still make her take one bite of everything and don't cater to her pickiness. Hoping things turn around for you soon!

Hope you do great on your test! My lo has been going through a spell of waking up in the middle of the night, and waking up super early?! Driving me crazy! He still is a good eater at this point. I think it's normal for lo's to develop favorites and only want that. My nephew is a few months older than my lo, and he has gotten very particular about his foods he will eat.

Hi everyone. Got my test done and I feel pretty good about it. I knew quite a bit and hope the rest I guessed good LOL. I think I can actually pull out a C by the end of the semester. The rest of the book are about things I've already learned in Medical Terminology or atleast learned about and have a good idea of what they are about. Fingers crossed. I won't have to wait long I'll find out Tuesday first thing.

Gavin is so much different then my Anna when she was his age. I am lost for the most part for dinners and bed times. He used to be so easy with bed time and now all of a sudden he refuses to go to bed. He wants nothing to do with it and I'm so confused and trying everything I can think of and for dinner time he still refuses to eat what I make. Tonight I'm making lasagna and I'm hoping he will eat it although it will have meat in it maybe he'll still eat it. He refuses to eat hamburger.

Going to go for a walk later today. Hoping to go somewhere he can walk himself to get rid of some of his energy. The only thing that is different now is that we are in the house more because I am not a "cold weather" person at all. I have a feeling I'm going to make myself one just so he can be wooped by night time. He woke up late today so I'm thinking we are going to skip the nap (this will hopefully play in my favor at bed time too).

Have a wonderful day today ladies!!
