There is also going to be a race in Connecticut, put on by the Hartford Marathon Foundation. For those of you in CT or surrounding areas, I think the date is set in March. Others can register online to just donate. I'll post more once the race is finalized.
On another thread I posted this too there was some concerns this might be a scam. But one of my Spark friends has a good friend who knows the organizers personally and has verified that it is not a scam but a legitimate fundraiser. Just in case there were doubts, thought I'd pass that one because after I heard it I was a little worried too.

I saw this today and thought I'd share it with the team. I can't possibly go to Tampa to run this race on January 31, but thought I would pay the registration fee to support the cause (it goes to help the families of the tragedy) and do a virtual 5 k race that day at home in honor of those.
