personal preference for the most part. My legs are always fine but it's my hands that get freezing. Today on my run, I was golden in my shirt and shorts until I reliezed my fingers were numb haha. However, if you have to wear a brace like me, leggings are best. Other pants bunch up or make them slip from where they are suppose to be.
It really doesn't matter once your body warms up your hot either way that is my experience.
Everyday gets easier with perseverance.
I've been running in temperatures as cold as 32 degrees in just tights/leggings with a little fleece lining in them (gear designed for cold weather activities). I picked them up for $25-30 a pair at Target (the C9 line).
Hope that helps!

I'm a newbie and might be doing it wrong but I got some "wuzzy" leggings that I wear under my running pants. We've been in the 30's this week and so far so good.

hi. I want to keep running outside when I can but last saterday it was 32 and I sweated some but my thighs never warmed up and were red when I got done. Anyone reccomend a good pair of cold weather running pants. I know I will have to spend at least $50- $65. Or do you layer and what do you layer? Thanks!
