Running a race with a timing chip is a good thing. The races I've run have all done the timing chip thing, and it really helped me monitor my progress from race to race. With the chip timing, I was also able to see where I was in the standings of my age group, overall, and among women who ran the race. Definitely some handy statistics.

Have you been running regularly prior to this 3 day break? If so, you should still be in decent shape. I wish you the best and am looking forward to hearing what your results are! :)

Don't worry about not running to much but you do need to move some . Some of my best times came when I did not run a few day before a race . Just have fun with it . emoticon

Have fun.
I did two 5K in October. I'm going to do a Turkey Trot/Prediction Run on Thanksgiving. Getting excited! Now, beginning to think about finding a run closer to Christmas.

I signed up for the Santa Hustle yesterday. This will be my second official 5K. This one has individual "timing" on the bibs - whatever that means. I don't know much about the racing system yet - my first race was a good experience so hopefully I'll learn how all this works.

I have two weeks to get ready for Santa Hustle, and I've been sitting on my rump for three days now. I really need to figure out what has happened to my motivation. I'm just not caring right now and I can't find a reason. I thought the race would be motivating but I'm still just sitting here.

Oh well.
