Extraordinary USES for ordinary things....
COFFEE FILTERS
Cover food in the microwave. Coffee filters are microwave-safe. Use them to cover bowls or dishes to prevent splatter when cooking or baking in your microwave oven.

Extraordinary USES for ordinary things....
KEEP A BOTTLE LID FROM STICKING
I you're having a hard time unscrewing that bottle of glue or nail polish, remember this tip for when you finally do get it open. Rub a little petroleum jelly along the rim of the bottle. Next time, the top won't stick.

I use Dawn dish washing soap to pretreat grease stains on clothes. Works pretty good much of the time, and better than some other pretreat things I've tried. Also it's great for washing greasy hands from things like working on an engine or a bike or other things with that type oof grease that is hard to clean.

With me, my daughter, and my granddaughter here a lot of hair spray gets used, especially by the other two. I am definitely going to have to use that tip! THanks!

EXTRAORDINARY USES:
Remove hair spray from walls.....
If you've been suing hair spray to kill flies, or you've just noticed hair spray buildup on your bathroom walls, reach for the shampoo. Put some on a wet sponge to clean, and wipe off suds with a clean, wet sponge. Shampoo is tailor-made to handle hair product buildup.

EXTRAORDINARY USES: Contact Lenses.....
You dropped a contact lens or earring stud on the rug and can't find it. Tightly attach a couple of layers of cheesecloth, a peice of panty hose, or a fabric softener sheet over the crevice tool of your vacuum cleaner with a rubber band or preferably tape. Slowely and carefully vaccum the rug, checking the covered nozzle until the lost item appears.

I had not heard of freezing eggs. What a great idea! When my kids were little I used to use ice cube trays to freeze my own homemade baby food. I would cook things like sweet potatoes, squash, and after pureeing would pour them into ice cube trays, then take them out and freeze them in baggies. When time to feed the little one just take out a cube or two or whatever is needed and warm up and serve. So easy and healthier than the store bought food.
I was reading a blog by another Sparker who said he has some cracks in his windshield. He said while he was out riding his mountain bike when he got back to the parking lot someone had left hime a note on his windshield telling him that putting a drop of super glue at the end of a crack would keep it from spreading. I have a couple of cracks in my windshield and am going to have to try that.

EXTRAORDINARY USES:
Freeze Extra Eggs....
Are you overstocked on bargain-priced eggs? Freeze them for future baking projects. Medium eggs are just the right size to freeze in plastic ice cube trays with one egg in each cell, with no spillover. After they freeze, pop them out into a self-sealing plastic bag. Defrost as many as you need when the time comes.

Oh that's a great idea! My mother used to decorate cakes many years ago and somewhere I still have the decorating bags that my mom used to use, along with all the cake decorating tips for the bags for different decorations and books on decorating. She quit many years ago when her arthritis got 2 bad in her hand because squeezing those bags is hard. I did a few cakes for family special events but never got into it. I'm more of the type that would use the simpler method of a squirt bottle and simple decorations LOL!
I've seen lots of tips on things and keep trying to think of them now but my mind keeps drawing a blank. Hopefully I'll think of something soon to contribute.

EXTRAORDINARY USES: Mustard or Ketchup bottles
Use a clean plastic mustard or ketchup squirt bottle as a cake decorator. Fill it with icing and then pipe scallops, flowers, and other designs onto cakes with ease. Or use it to make squiggles of pesto or sour cream on top of soups or chocolate on desserts.

I had also heard that putting an aspirin in the water would help preserve the life of artificial flowers but not sure about it. The bleach preventing growth of bacteria sounds better. Thanks for the tip.

EXTRAORDINARY USES:
INCREASE CUT FLOWER'S LONGEVITY.
Freshly cut flowers will stay fresh longer if you add 1/4 teaspoon bleach per quart (l liter) of vase water. Another popular recipe calls for 3 drops bleach and 1 teaspoons sugar in 1 quart (liter) water. This will also keep the water from getting cloudy and inhibit the growth of bacteria.

IDEA #1
ONE EGG REPLACEMENT
If you're baking a cake that calls for one more egg than you have on hand, you can substitute 1 teaspoon of cornstarch.
