I'm doing the St Pete Women's Half Marathon on Nov 18. What is really cool is that Barb (ONEKIDSMOM) is coming from Nebraska to run with me!!! I am so psyched!!

I'm thinking of signing up for a 5K on Veteran's Day. I tried to train for a 10K and couldn't quite cut it. I think I got over-zealous and it was just out of my reach. I did one 5K and thought I couldn't conquer anything. I had knee, hip and some other problems. Once I decided to not do the 10K...the pressure was off and I just STOPPED. I didn't run for 3 weeks! Why? I don't know. I started slowly yesterday. Just a mile. I feel it in my hip. ...just a little. I'm going to be smart. I'll run tomorrow. I think I'll be up to 5K again quickly. I've been running all summer. That's my planned event now. Haven't officially signed up....just rattling around in my head.

sat oct 6 - run like a girl half marathon in bellingham, WA! my first HM in 5 years. planning a galloway-style walk run, and hoping to meet or beat my time from 5 years ago (i was a very slow runner:-)

Exciting events for everyone!!! emoticon

For me, I don't have anything quite as lengthy as some of you right now, but I do have a few for the month. On the 14th my DH, DS and I are doing a 5K Fun Run/Walk to raise money for education and then on the 20th, a 5K trail race that I will either be walking if I can get some of my friends who are not joggers to do it with me or if I do it solo, I will walk/jog it. And then I also have the Spark Trick or Treat Trot I am signed up to walk/run.

Hoping to do the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving again this year and then increase my distances for 2013. So glad to have found this team that allows for walking - not always running - half marathons!

Walking in my first 5K this Sunday Oct 7th, Susan G. Komen race for the cure. I am excited and nervous. I am excited because it is my first and I am walking in memory of my best friend. I am nervous because I know it will be really crowded and crowds make me nervous. The race for the cure in Denver is one of the largest in the country. I live north of Denver so I will have to figure out the park-n-ride and catch the bus down to the event. Will have to ride the bus on the highway which gives me anxiety even as a passenger. I don't drive the city highways unless I can't figure out another way to get there. Then after the event I have to find the bus that will take me back to my car. Also since I work 2nd shift being at the park-n-ride at 7am is going to be a challenge. My co-worker is going to meet me at the park-n-ride to help me figure out the whole bus thing and everything else. Even though there is a lot of new things I need to figure out and overcome I am excited for taking these steps to become a healthier me.

I'm just starting to walk/jog and am working toward the Trick or Treat Trot Virtual 5k.
In preparation, I have a parade to walk in this weekend, a fundraiser walk for autism on 9/22, and another fundraiser walk for our local Pregnancy Care Center on 9/29.

I signed up for a 5K to save the boobs and the thanksgiving one for Sparkpeople so far. Still looking for others. I would like to do a 1/2 marathon at Disney next year for my treat for loosing the weight by then!

I had a 5k today, I have one next week, one on Sept 22 for Alzheimer's, One on Oct 6th for diabetes and on Oct 13th.
I am thinking of the half for Thanksgiving if I can get in enough training

I'm running the L.A. Rock n Roll in October. My first RnR and my last HM in '12. I have registered for 3 HM's next year and getting ready to register for my first marathon which will take place on St.Patricks Day '13.

I am running the Hershey Half in Oct. And yes, they do hand out chocolate on the course. I'm sure I'll run faster with it than GU.

I'm training for my first HM in December (Rock and Roll Las Vegas). I had planned to do it last year as well as the San Jose one but injured my foot and was unable to. I'm very excited to finally do it.

I only did one sprint triathlon this spring/summer. I have been working on training up the miles for my first half marathon the weekend after Thanksgiving. I was supposed to do this race last year, but about 2 months before the race, I tore my hip flexor. So I delayed my entry and went about the work of healing.

I am very excited to finally make it

I have a 5k coming up on the 29th called the Naked Foot 5k. In October I'm running a kk for a local Oktoberfest event as well as a 5k called the Dawg Dash (UW Huskies) I'll probably do another 12k in December. I'm really hoping that 2013 will be my year of the marathon. Perhaps Rock & Roll?

Working on a healthier, happier me.
