I average 12-13 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. I'm thinking I should cut back a bit, but definitely don't want to substitute crackers or empty calories.

Summer is probably the most difficult time to exercise in Florida. I dislike the feel of sun screen on my skin and especially don't want sunscreen streaming into my eyes with sweat. Last summer my gym membership really paid off. Even though I have a treadmill at home, the gym is far more air conditioned and the pool is a total blessing on hot, humid days. My running group runs on Saturday morns outside, usually starting at 6am. On long runs they sometimes start at 5am or even earlier. So I plan to run one day a week outside with my group and 2 days a week at the gym; I'll get cross training at home and at the gym. Occasionally I'll go ride the bike trail near my home when I can find someone to go with me. I used to go by myself, but Ive been warned it is not always safe.

Answer to the question: I intend to exercise just as much.

Getting out early in the morning before temperature rises to do workouts, staying inside during the hottest part of the day, cranking up the AC, drinking lots of water!

We don't have an air conditioner so I would say.....wearing lightweight clothing, lots to drink, and seek out some shade.

Definitely is one of the reason why I like to run.

I also do read before I go to sleep. Usually something motivational or a good story that makes me smile.

I never watch TV but I recently got Net flix as I do enjoy a movie. Anyways, and I got into a TV series called The Big C and I got to say It is good for the sole.

I also take time to track my food and exercise and what is happening on my teams.

No race for me - still recovering from an injury, but my son ran his first half marathon today and did it in less than 2 hours. So proud of him. Also, a sister and a brother made up half of a marathon team. Knew lots of runners in today's Buffalo marathon and HM!

I remember my mom and dad fad dieting and struggling with their own weight. I remember wanting desperately to lose weight. I'm not exactly sure where the pressure came from. I lost 60 pounds when I was 15-16. It took me 9 months to lose it and 3 months to gain it back.

I know it is absolutely crazy but about 10 years ago or so I quit liking to travel. I get car sick.I I feel trapped and enclosed in airplanes and other vehicles. I need a bathroom more often than most people. My hubby married me thinking we would travel a lot at retirement. I had traveled to 46 states, lived 2 years in India, and a year in the Fiji Islands. I loved to travel as a kid, as a teen, as a young adult. I have chronic pressure in my ears that may or may not be related to TMJ problems I had in my forties and may be responsible for the discomfort I feel traveling. So now he wants to travel and I just want to stay home. I feel guilty keeping him at home. Also, my 84 year old mom lives 2000+ miles away and just quit traveling. So I need to travel, but hate it. What to do!! We are going to New York (from home in Florida) in July to visit hubby's family and go to Broadway play. I can do it, but I don't want to.

I sound like such a wimp. Wish I felt otherwise.

I would really love to go on a real vacation but money is tight. Next week I'm off on a staycation but a SP friend from 2 states away is on her way here and will be here until Wednesday morning. We are both avid hikers and I'm so looking forward to meeting her in person so that is going to be my fun staycation!
