It is a gorgeous day in Northern BC, Granisle in particular. Got up by 7 and took the dogs for a long walk. Managed to track over 5000 steps and saw foxes.

emoticon Kaliswalker! I keep flopping back and forth between 132 and 134 the past few months... Its been really tough to get those last few lbs off especiallly with the nice weather these days.

Migraines are starting to subside... thank goodness.

I tracked my whole weeks worth of exercise tonight... its been tough to get on the computer and get things done lately.

I understand the motivation issue NYX, Sometimes it easier to do things with a in real life group of people. I did find that weight watchers was a good program and it actually was the catalyst for me to get to where I am today. Weight watchers is good because it teaches you what your eating, you have to journal all your food, just like spark but you get to meet once a week with in real life people and get the accountability you need at the weigh ins.

Good Luck girl... its really about calories in and calories out and I KNOW you can do it!

Cold is under control.. thank goodness!
Very sorry to hear about your migraine Heather, I cannot relate, but hope you feel better soon.

I am 'considering' another weight loss program in conjunction with SP.
I did really well with SP alone last fall... since then.. nothing.. my motivation has dwindled.

I'm not keeping the records I should be and I've not lost a single pound since September, other than those that I regained and re-lost.

I find I cannot stay motivated by myself. I have no accountability other than to myself.
I still walk almost everyday, but never by myself. in fact I seldom exercise by myself. I have a fitbit which is my one motivator, but I'm not even as loyal to it anymore. I still eat reasonably well, but I've not been quite as strict on my diet as I was before. A few more happy-hours, a few more chocolates than before, maybe a slightly larger portion than before.

I think I need accountability... so that's why I'm considering another method along with SP.

Any suggestions??

Tax Season for me, so I'm CRAZY busy and don't know how often I'll be checking in.

Still walking a couple of miles most mornings... it's nice that it's lighter in the morning... as least for a week or so yet.. lol

Did an Aqua-Fit class last night...... man, was I stiff this morning!! LOL.. who'd a thunk it??

Going snow camping with my Pathfinders at the end of the month on Cypress... it's a challenging camp... a hard hike in, plus building snow shelters... I'll definitely burn a few calories on that weekend!

Heather... glad to hear that your Practicum is done... are you still dancing??

OHhhhhhhhhh Have fun on your winter camping trip.... not too envious of that LOL

I didn't have to convince my guy into it, we have been talking about taking dancing lessons for a long time but just never actually took the leap... so when I saw the oppourtunity in Jan we leaped at it as one of our new years resolutions to do things together that are active... :-)

We are thinking about starting to bowl too but it would be fun with a group of people so Im working on that one!

Only 3 days to go before we freeze our butts off camping at Manning Park
Today the temperature is there is -25 and in brackets it says (feels like -33) it actually says that on the weather network!
We are considering moving our camp to Sumas Mtn instead where at least we'd have backup shelter if we needed it and not quite so far from home if we need to bail.

One bonus about winter camping is that you can eat all you want, and almost anything you want... carbs, protein, fat.... in fact you are required to eat twice as much as normal....
I guess I'll be leaving my fresh fruit and veggie snacks at home... I don't think frozen produce would be very yummy..

Ha... I did not spend my weekend snowshoeing, but was exhausted last night nonetheless.
I did spend 5 hours on Saturday walking around the "Teen Fest" at the Cloverdale Show Barn with my Pathfinders after which I spent another 5 hours grocery shopping and doing food prep. Then on Sunday the girls and I spent 5 hours (I spent closer to 9 hrs) cooking up over 200 meals for our winter camp at Manning Park this coming weekend. Yep, I was also exhausted last night, but still got up this morning to go walking with my buddy. We've not extended our walk this past week, but we've picked up the pace somewhat. A little progress and he starts dreaming! Now he's talking about wanting to do a min-triathlon in April 2015!! LOL.

I'm down another pound as of this morning, and I've really not been trying at all... just trying to learn how to 'maintain' really, and so far so good. I've been pretty consistent for the past 5 months... maybe soon I'll start thinking about that next 10 pounds... LOL

Im so tired.... did 4 hours of snowshoeing/hiking yesterday... gonna try and haul my exhausted cold filled head to the gym tonight... but right now the couch and a cuppa tea after work sounds pretty good.

Pretty quiet in here isn't it?? LOL
Must be frustrating for you... lead a team with no team??
I know everyone is busy.. me included... CRAZY busy in fact,

I think I'm at a weight-loss plateau,
I reached my first goal in September and realize that I've been kind of ' coasting' ever since with little 'real' effort to lose the next 10 pounds. I've fluctuated a few pounds up and down since September and am currently back to where I was, but have made no progress on my next goal.

Although I have been pretty good about keeping up my 10,000 steps per day, I've not been as diligent about keeping track of my food intake or quite as careful for that matter.

I'm not sure what to do to get myself re-motivated.

Maybe I should come dancing with you!!

We've extended our walks another 1/4 mile with one more good hill.
It feels GREAT .. can't wait for the good weather so we can walk in the Bog instead on on the residential streets.

I'm hoping to talk my walking partner into maybe starting a low-level running program.

Oh a side note.. I think I'm going to QUIT my gym ... I never go, and I pay for it every month. Waste of money... I've been paying for it for years now and can count the number of times I've been on my fingers. Ugg.

Ahhh yes, GGC politics...
Sometimes I think the purpose is to test the busy leaders to see how much they can take before they blow! You gotta wonder sometimes who's best interest they have at heart here.. lol
But, I guess politics are a necessary evil and it still gives the young ladies the best opportunity to do some REALLY cool stuff that not many kids get the opportunity to do.

Yeah, I hate the politics, but I do love the organization and I love my girls.
I'll leave the DC position to someone else though.. LOL


Kinda neat walking story...
My walking partner is a BIG man, technically obese I suppose at over 300 lbs, but he's solid as a rock and strong as a horse. He too is a member here, although he never signs in. When we started walking together, not so long ago, the only talking he could do while we tackled the first hill was to complain that I walked too fast! This morning he talked all the way and even commented on how we were going to have to extend our walks to include another hill. Kinda gave me a warm fuzzy... LOL

Your a Girl Guide Nyx... Thats awesome! I did Girl Guides for Years... was a district commissioner for a bit too... Loved Guiding hated the politics

Have a great time dancing... .. I too love it.. a fun and happy way to get in exercise!!

Well... I did certainly di d not go any gym over the weekend, nor did I even go for my all morning walks.
However.. I did participate in taking 400 Guide Guides to Science World over the weekend and spent the rest of it preparing food and equipment to take another 20 camping to Manning Park in a two weeks and what was left of it planning to take another 28 to an 8 day International Camp in the summer.
So.. I'd say I got in my RAE's for sure at least!! LOL

oh.. and I'm back down to my Pre-Hawaii weight... emoticon

Now to work on that next 10 lbs!!

Well I haven't gotten any fitness in since Friday... tomorrow is dance class but although I count it for my fitness minutes it doesn't really burn much calories as we are still more in the act of learning and not really dancing our butts off.. LOL

the real fitness will have to start on Wednesday this week and run through the weekend.

Had a great hour at the gym tonight...and was heavy cleaning all day...up and down the stairs...feel the burn...lol Also feeling energized and feeling so proud of myself :) Hope everyone is having a great day!

Getting married in Hawaii and only gaining 5 lbs. That is nothing. You will get back on track and those 5 lbs will be gone. Heck I went to Winnipeg for Christmas and gained 5 lbs. Well on my way to getting it off.
Went to spin class today, what a great work out that is.

I sent a few weeks in Hawaii over Christmas and got married on the beach.
I also gained 5 lbs while I was there enjoying my Pina Colada's and Poi.
(well, no Poi really as it's disgusting, but you know that I mean... holiday, Hawaiian stuff)
I've been too chicken to get on the scale since, and refuse to until I feel confident that I'm at least back down where I was.
But I've been good since my return, so I'm hoping that soon I'll be back where I was and that I can start on that next 10 lbs.

With only 3 hours sleep, I was very reluctant to get my butt out of bed this morning to meet AB for our 2 mile morning walk, but we did it, the dogs were grateful, and the coffee afterwards tasted all that better for it.

Dance lessons sound really fun Heather. Hope you enjoyed it.
I'm not big on the Sun Run either just because of the amount of people. I will probably do the BMO half again, one of my favorites.
Way to still make time for yourself NYX those 6 am workouts can be hard. Especially when you're so busy.
No exercise for me today, a bit under the weather. Hope to get to bootcamp in the am.

Any kind of dance lessons are SO much fun.. you'll love it!!

Sorry but I've been CRAZY busy with work. I'm an accountant and it's a new payroll year for all my clients, and the start of a new company year for many other clients, so it's been 14 hour work days lately..... so needless to say, I've not been online much for personal reasons...

But.. I'm still managing to go for a 2 mile walk with my neighbor/BFF or my hubby most days (at 6 am) and do my RAE's as often as I can.

I'm still here, but may not surface much until after Tax Season is over... LOL

I did the sun run one year long ago and a few years ago i did the fathers day run for prostate cancer... I have decided that I dont like to run in crowds lol

Way to go!!!! Everything counts!!! I'm posting from my iPad and I find it a pain to do so , so if my posts are weird or off that's why lol

I however didn't get any fitness in today , I had to do an order for 90! Cake pops and it pretty much took me all day :-(

Being an active team member means joining the team goals, loggin in your fitness minutes, posting once in awhile, sharing, give us a huddle of encouragement , let us know if your needing support, got any great tips and hints or recipes? Feel free to share :-) the more "active " members we have the more likely we are to succeed .... Sharing and the like is support and it helps us get through the tough parts of our journeys and to celebrate the moments of wonderful!! :-)

I am wondering if there are any sparkers in Prince George? I am spending all next week in PG because hubby is having surgery and would be up for meeting any BC sparkers who live in PG at Tim Hortons one of those days. Preferably Thurs. or Fri.
