We put out our flag, which I only do on certain holidays like today, Veteran's Day, and Independence Day! I talked to Nicholas about how we put out our flag today to honor the solidiers who have served in the war and especially those who died while serving our country.
My father was a WW 2 Veteran and he was at Pearl Harbor.. actually at another fort in Hawaii when it was bombed. He was the only man who lived in his whole large group - platoon or infantry.
I took Nicholas to see the parade in the next town over and he waved his flag in one hand and his hand in the other hand at all the servicemen. He was especially glad to see his friend's Dad and he called him by name, which made the guy light right up. :) At the end we walked back to see why they had stopped and we heard the gun salute and then heard them playing Taps, so I told Nicholas to be very quiet and after I whispered to him that they play that in honor of the soldiers who died in the wars. I wish there had been more people there to observe this and show respect to the servicemen.. But all I can say is that we were there.
Were you in the Service, Richard?
I go by "Angel". :)
Get up and move at least 10 minutes a day.
You are worth having a healthy body!
This is a lifestyle change to be healthy, not a diet and not a sprint to get there.. one day at a time, one pound at a time.. as long as it takes.
