No, I am doing it at home to some motivating, loud music "like" the gym. I dont blame yah, I would not be on those floors at the gym unless I brought my own mat.

are you doing this workout at the gym? I have gym floor phobia, so scared to go out on the floor alone! I should have some little index cards with the day's workout from the magazine......

I'm going to start this plan today! I haven't worked out in a while, so I think the 3 days a week on the beginner's plan is a good place for me to start. I will be doing cardio 6 days/week, but I think I'm going to stick to just the 3 days for strength training so I can ease myself back into a routine without getting burnt out.

Sat: did not go for margueritas, they pushed the time back later, but that was a good thing I suppose. emoticon

I also did not do my cardio, but that was ok too, because I was up till 1am working on getting my cable machine back up(still not done). So I did get a major workout stooping and shoulders and arms. Anyway, I feel I needed an extra recoup day.

Today I am to do Workout 1, day 3 of the TYBF workout. Then I will go to Workout 2 on Tuesday. So I wont be behind I will just do that workout on Tues, Thr. and Sat. I usually have Sundays as a rest day. That shld get me back on track with the right days. Then I will start workout 3 on M,W,F.

After I go for margueritas and chips (LOL!!) today, I will be doing some walking on the treadmill. I am off 1 day with the TYBF workout so workout 1, day 3 will be tomorrow.
That will be it for today.

So, I did Cathe's Kick Max. Then I did my own ABS workout. I used the heavy tubing for all of it. It was great! Only took 8 minutes. I only did three exercises; crunch (with resistance tubing), oblique crunch (with resistance tubing), and reverse crunch (with resistance tubing). two sets, 12 reps each.
Next time I will do an extra set.
Also, I found a cool Tubing workout in Muscle & Fitness Hers. I'm gonna do THAT one tomorrow. I haven't used bands much, but i think I like them. LOL!
So, I will most likely split Muscle max into upper & lower (on two different days, next week) then do a third day of the resistance tubing workout. And, of course every other day, as well.
Whew!

Well, I don't know. I can't use HEAVIER weights. I'm using the heaviest ones I've got. But I figure I have taken this week off from Cathe (except for KickMax tomorrow), I might as well make it the WHOLE week. Then I'll call it ACTIVE RECOVERY week! LOL!

Well, I am going to continue the TYBF workout with increased weights to just change up routines and add to it as needed. I need to change it up anyway from what I was doing for 6 weeks prior. After this 3 week workout then I will go back to Cathe. They say it is good to chaneg after so many weeks anyway to keep the muscles guessing. Yes, the workouts are shorter than what we are use to, but we can always "tweak" them to our liking and what we want to get out of them.

I will still be doing Cathe aerobics and lower body, since I am trying to decrease the inches on my hips. So lower body will be emphasized. ttyl

Thanks.
I just ordered Cathe's Low max, and Gym Style Legs... I did find a couple of workouts, but they aren't very long either. I didn't want long, but I didn't want too easy either. I know, I'm picky! LOL!
I also found a couple I liked in M&F Hers. So, ithink I will try those out as well. I will post what I end up doing...
You guys too, eh!

WOW! I am getting confused reading all of the replies. I have almost 8 months of magazines and there is so much great information that when I try to do a workout, I dont know how to put it all together to work for me. Maybe I should just pick one out of one magazine and take it from there. Here's the thing - I am so used to doing group classes and have issues going out on the gym floor. I have the tools I need but am just so unsure of how to apply them with confidence. You girls rock!

Thanks, I wore my HRM while I did the yardwork. I stopped it if I stopped and I only let it run when I was active without a pause.
So if you did the same you probably burned a lot as well.
The bad thing (not so bad, I gotta eat) is that I am going to have some pasta at California Pizza Kitchen for dinner, but it is well deserved after all of this, and it will all be in moderation!

Hey, I am also thinking that maybe this is a workout for when you are crunched for time, but the heading does make it seem like one should be able to tone up by this.

I here yah! I felt the same way, because I am use to Cathe too! I do her Upper and Lower pyramids and also her Kick, Punch and Crunch,as well as her,Legs and Glutes and Stretch Max and Core Max. That push I suppose we got use to. But I still want to do this one, I just think we have to add more pounds to the weights for a better push!

Today I was outside doing major yardwork and sspent 850 calories. About to do 40 min on my elliptical and that will be it for me today. I also got a lot of glutes and abs and hamstring workout while doing the yardwork as well. Will ends the eve with a good stretch!

Enjoy life to the "nth" power! If you have goals and aspirations set forth to do them now. Life is too short. Like Nike says...."Just Do It"

Procrastination is not an option. Never say never. Tomorrow is not promised to us. Enjoy!! As my cousin says...."Do you"!!!

Ok. I don't know what to do now... I did a different workout. Used Resistance tubing. it wasn't very tough either, so I did another short one, then I just did some push-ups and chin-ups...
I'm used to do Cathe's Muscle max workout. It's really tough... I'm might have to re-think this.
BUT! In the meantime, let's just keeping what we DO here. Just post your strength workouts here, anyhow.
I'm still going through my mags and see what I can put together.
I'm looking for a TOUGH, but SHORT (1/2 hour) strength workout. I always do an hour of cardio, so i only have time for 1/2 hour of strength. I also do abs on a different day, so it just has to be upper or lower or both (I would prefer BOTH in the same workout)
OK, I'll check back!

Yeah. That's what I'm thinking too. Even though I used real heavy weight...
I actually started going through all my back issues last night. (looking for recipes and workouts)
This weeks workout also doesn't seem to have much for legs!
Anyhow, I'm gonna mull it over; keeo looking. I think we probably can do better. I've been doing Cathe workouts, so I'm sure i can!
You're right. It looks like a good workout when your tight on time...

The workout looks good.

My question is that it seems like too few moves per day...compared, I guess, to how I'm currently doing my workout.

It has 5 different moves where say on an average day if I work back and triceps - I do 3-4 moves targeting my back, 2-3 targeting triceps and I superset to get my heart rate up.

I'm wondering if this workout maybe isn't as challenging as what I've seen in other issues. Seems like a good workout to do when you want to do a light workout or you want to add in an extra day of strength training to supplement...?? What do ya'll think?

I did the weighted ball crunch with resistance bands and it worked reaaly well. I also tried the russian twist like you said... maybe I will try again. I didn't seem to feel ANYTHING! LOL! Maybe I need a BIGGER weight!
Thanks for the tips!
PS. I wish I could afford MORE equipment! emoticon emoticon

Hey, you know you can do that russian twist on the floor with a heavy dumbell sitting on the floor with ur knees bent, leaning back some and twisting from left to right??? Hold ur abs in tho. And the weighted ball crunch can be substituted by holding a weight to ur chest and doing a floor crunch. Just some suggestions since you dont have the weight machine. Just a thought. Kim emoticon

I think the cable machine would help for those crunches for sure!
I did the TYBF with 20's & 15's, except I had to finish the last set of shoulder press and hammer curls with 10's.
I don't think you went too fast, it just didn't take as long as 30 minutes for me either. maybe 20. I tried to lift slowly too.
I'm gonna look in some more mags for a better abs workout I think. Although I loved the weighted ball crunch. Maybe I will make up my own Abs routine....
OK, TTYL

Tone Your Body Fast (TYBF) Workout I, Day One- Completed

Also did: 1 set of bicycle 15 reps
2 sets (15 reps) of Russian Twist(Amazing Abs workout)
Abs Giant Set Workout (Spring issue) 2 sets of 15 reps except for the knee tucks I did only 1 set 15 reps (those hurt!!!) I have to work up to multiple sets with those!!!

The Giant Abs Workout sets consist of twisting bench crunch, toes to ceiling, reverse crunch and the knee tuck.

I did all of that in less than 30 mins, 27 min to be exact with minimal rest in between. The TYBF workout says it is to take 30 min for the intermediate/advance. I am wondering if I am doing it too fast or what?? I used 8# and 10# weights.

I assume that the only diff betwwen the beginners and the intermed/adv is the amount of weight you start off with???

Tomorrow I do cardio and I jog or do my SP interval jog, no weights. The next day I will do TYBF will be Friday. I will post my workout on my exercise log page. When I am at work I will be able to go heavier. But I am off for a few days so that wont happen till next week when we are in Workout 2. I cant do the all of the Amazing Abs workout until I repair my machine. I have a cable machine at home and the one at work someone broke the weights on it. But I will be adding it in once I fix mine, which is one of my chores while I am off. See yah next time!!! Kim emoticon

OK. The Tone Your Body Fast workout, I do tomorrow, so I did the AMAZING ABS workout today. I don't have a GYM equipment, so I used a pilates resistance bar/band for the pulldown crunch. It was really hard to feel any kind of burn. I'm already using HEAVY bands. So, I'm not sure what to do about that...
The Medicine Ball Twist was difficult to do. I used a 10 pound weight (no medicine ball) and I just couldn't keep mu balance. So, I did a Torso twist with the BANDS
Then I did the weighted ball crunch with the bands. Now THAT was GREAT! BURN, baby BURN!. Liked it so much, I did the same thing only I did side crunches... I think I will have to modify this workout... my abs are in pretty good shape, so I'm always looking for ways to make it HARDER! LOL!
OK, I'll be back to post tomorrow!

Sounds like a plan and I do Cathe too and her workouts are long. I dont lift as heavy, because I am always pulling something from it, but I am going to "safely" build up. I will be doing the abs from the spring issue and I will probably add those form the current one.
I also do Gilad too on FitTv. And like you, I need a switch for a moment too! See yah tomorrow for check in, I usually workout in the afternoon just to let you know, but I am off the rest of the week so I may be able to get them in early. Ciao!!! kim

Let's do it here... are you using HEAVY weights? I'm trying to go as heavy as I can. But, I am also doing this workout because it looks like a timesaver. I've been doing Cathe workouts. They are LOOOONG! LOL! I like them, but I needed a break from her anyhow. This will be good 4 weeks is perfect.
OK, see ya tomorrow!
Oh! Are you doing the Abs workout also? It looks good also. And short but sweet! It uses weight and bands for resistance. Can't wait...
No matter if your not... but I'll post here after I do that one anyhow (since it's in the same issue! LOL!)
OK. Nighty Night.

You know, I was just looking at that! Great! I am starting it tomorrow. I had just came off of doing a 6 week workout and it had a weight workout so I had to let my muscles rest for a few days from lifting. I hope to lift more pounds with this workout because I want to build some bulk to arms, right now I see a "soft" curvature to them, but I want them to pop! And my abs I am going to do the Abs Giant set that is in the Spring issue, I may add the ones that you are speaking of.
Should we post are progress here or should I do it on your page??

Oh... yes. It Does say that! I think what it means is to do one TYPE of workout each week. (NOT once a week) They didn't word that very well! LOL!
So, We do workout 1, three times this week, Workout 2, three times next week, and so on... until week 4. Where we do ONE DAY each of EACH workout 1, 2 & 3. (Does that makes sense? LOL!)
So, I did Workout 1 this morning. (Tomorrow I'm gonna do the AMAZING ABS workout (in the same issue). So, how about we just post here after our workouts? Share our thoughts!

That's cool that you are doing it with me... and you are also about the same size and we both want to lose about the same amount of weight.
Cool.

Here...here.....! I am game! The only thing that I am confused about is when they say each week to do the workout three times, are they saying for that week or 3 sets with 12 -15 reps??? I am kinda confused....Because in the beginning they say to do each workout once a week???? Kim

TONE your entire body FAST! Is anyone doing this workout? It just came in my latest edition of Oxygen (yesterday I got it)
I'm doing the intermed/advanced plan. So, I did the first workout today. took about 25 minutes. It was short but sweet.
I am gonna do this and alternate with the AMAZING ABS workout every second day. So, today was total body, tomorrow will be abs, then total body, etc. I will be doing strength 6 days a week; but only total body 3 day...
If anyone wants to join me, just post here!
