Well I would LOVE to have your recipes but I have only made them twice now and don't have a recipe. The first time, just olive oil, apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper. The second time I used a seasoning packet for chili lol
I'd LOVE to try some with a healthier recipe!

Hi everyone! Today I'm trying Kale chips for the second time. Yesterday they were good. Great even. But I am thinking tonight they'll be even better because I'm using fresh raw kale, not packaged. Also, mixing in a seasoning packet. I think I might have found a cure for potato chips =)

Who knows, but they suck! Anyway I got them the first day, and just went ahead and walked on them...today was day 4 and they are starting to get better. They were really bad at first. Thing is, I can't stop for the blisters because it will be months before I manage to motivate again. Yesterday I was thinking about just using a needle to make a little hole and relieve the pressure but I didn't. I still might though. I gotta just suck it up and press on, and not stop walking, and trust that eventually they'll go away. =)

Yeah, what causes blisters anyway? Is it the shoes? We went for a 9-mile walk a couple of weeks ago and it was fun, I had good energy, but I came home with awful blisters and was worthless the day after.

I really want to take that walk again, but without the blisters!

Hi Edyie! I just got back from classes, long day. I'm feeling kind of hopeful about actually losing some weight now, which is nice because I haven't in a long time. Today is day 4 of my streak, staying in calorie range and walking. The first couple of days I felt so sore I could barely move, mostly the blisters on my feet lol but decided that I'm gonna have to suck it up and just do it. I think the blisters have given up, my feet don't hurt much today =)

Hi everyone, how are ya'll doing this fine Monday morning?

I have a lot of (productive, happy) goals today: Gotta check on Dylan's WIVA, get Tony to his appt to appeal his suspension (due to grades), open a savings account with April and make our budget for September, and start spring cleaning my bedroom, plus pick up the babies at 3:30 today from their first day of school (kindergarten and first grade!). Also check Dominic's attendance on his pre-algebra review class (online).

I wonder what every one else is doing today...

Only a few more days till my internet will be on at home!

Hi everyone, how are ya'll doing today? I hope everyone is having a productive and peaceful day and including plenty of self-care.

I am doing fine and am formulating a plan to start getting myself back on track. Beginning the 5th, when my internet is on, I am going to start sparking everyday, and I will track and get serious about starting weight loss. I intend to walk my dog daily, strength train at least 10 minutes everyday, and to track everything I eat.

We still have time to lose 32 lbs this year, ya know!

Yeah, it has been HELL not having internet. But Dominic has to have it for his online public school so I got him a fast Uverse connection, and it will be all set up on the 5th. I really can't wait. Also I am going to HAVE to find a quiet and clean place in this hopeless apartment, so he can study in peace. I have got to find a different place for us!

Hi team, I hope everyone is having a fantastic and healthy day!

Today I got my 70 minute walk out of the way early this morning, before it got hot, and that worked out especially well. It actually turned into about 2 hours =)

So far today I've eaten healthy. I haven't decided whats for dinner yet but I might eat out and have fish.

I found out today that a bank in town is hiring because they lost 2 people this month, and I am thinking I'll apply there. I need to get a job!!

Hi team!

Another hot day. We looked for a window a/c unit today but its so late in the summer that they are all sold out. Well it will start cooling off after next month anyway.

Guess what, someone sent me a letter that said I had unclaimed property, which of course I knew was a scam..but checked out unclaimed property search in TX anyway, and there I was, my name and my old address, and WTU (electric company) had deposited an overpayment in my name.

So I called WTU directly, and had them look up my old account which was HARD because it was years ago, and apparently they kept deducting $71 from my account for a long while after I moved to WI and discontinued service and I didn't catch it.

They said they held it until the time limit forced them to turn it over to the state and gave me a phone number to claim it. The phone number was for TX unclaimed property.

Anyway, I have nearly $2000 unclaimed dollars held by the state of TX. I sent in my claim, and a copy of my ID and social security card and proof that I lived there, and I should get my check in 30-90 days. Less 1.5 % TX charges for "research fees" which I think is bogus, they should pay me interest because my money hasn't been sitting in an envelope waiting for me--they have been using it.

But whatever, at least I'll get it.
So I did a search for my daughter, and she had $20 unclaimed that was deposited by H&R Block that she can claim.

I'm glad ya'll enjoyed the song.
I LOVE it. I've listened to it non stop for days. They are both so hurt...and like, yelling, fighting...and his colors are his life, but she isn't part of his life anymore so she isn't "his" color anymore...and they have such different perspectives of what happened...plus they are both naked, vulnerable...I really love it.

Anywayz, I've eaten light-ish so far today. For sure I am eating less just because I'm tracking. I wish I could show you guys my charm tree--I took a few pics of it but they don't show how cool it is...I think I'll try again tonight.

Hi team!

Today I am feeling really good about this month's goals...mine are just to walk everyday and track all my food. The tracking helps me eat lighter even when I'm not trying to stay in my range.

I'm looking forward to next month, my goal will be strength training. And maybe a blueberry smoothie before bed every night. Haven't decided on the second goal.

I'm wondering if anyone else LOVES that song by Gotye and Kimbra, Somebody that I Used To Know. Its my favorite song at the moment, I can't get enough of it. If you listen to it, watch the video, its a lot less cool without it.

Wow! That's great! (Go Reina and boys!) I was wondering if you had started on bedroom yet emoticon

(I am doing a 9 item (or more) purge, per area, with the rule of the stuff must be off the premises within 24 hours (donation, trash, or give-away).

On another note: I was thinking I might try incorporating an idea like having a resort experience at home throughout the week -something like a Weight Loss Fitness Camp ala Biggest Loser schedule www.biggestloserresort.com/typical-day I would schedule activities or spa-type stuff like they have on their schedule. Keep it interesting.

Hi Team!
Last night I spent about an hour, working with both of my boys, and we got the kitchen looking really nice. I told them that from now on we're cleaning the kitchen together after supper, so that it gets done right. (they've been doing it alone for years now lol)

Wonderful idea for the daily walking!

I have an experiment I am putting into place by taking the idea that Peter Walsh presented about clutter: "Organizational mastermind Peter Walsh says there's a definite connection between the clutter in your house and the clutter on your hips."

I will be putting his statement into practice by decluttering every single day for the next 30 days.

HI, Spark buds! How is everyone doing today?

I have started a walking program for myself, I'm going to see how long a streak I can make. The goal is to walk between 30 and 70 minutes every day without fail. I started yesterday, with 70 minutes. I haven't decided yet but I might walk inside today.

I hope everyone is staying fit (and cool) today!

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a fantastic Monday!

Today I got a lot of errands done...got a new cell phone, returned the old one, made an appointment to get my son's eye's checked, (hopefully) got our accommodations for my trip to Ireland nailed down...although they aren't paid for yet...

It's super hot here in Wisconsin today but I have my daughters car, which has A/C...I gotta get the A/C i my car fixed!!

Hi , and Happy Saturday!

I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I really love your ideas--very creative!

I went to Red Robin with my son today for lunch and ate way too much. I feel like I'm waddling lol also if the zombies attacked they'd get me for sure.

The cottage owner messaged me that she can't accommodate us for that 2 week period so I'm back to square one with finding us a pace to stay..I'm going to look today though before we run out of time.

I read the first 2 chapeters of Imagine a Woman, what a great book! Did you read the whole thing straight thru or are you doing the meditations and exercises?

Loved your Zombie blog! Great imagination, it's no wonder you got the Popular Blog Award! I also just read your zombie blog re: ice cream truck and motivational dress. So have you found the dress yet?!

I can see by some of the responses to your zombie blog, that a lot of sparkers have great ideas and themes to go along with the Zombie apocalypse training.

When I was thinking of my spartan theme, I did a lot of searching to keep my theme interesting:
1. Spartan lifestyle
What do spartans eat, drink, wear.
*food - simple food and drink natural to the area (Italy) mediterranean diet ideas recipes
*eating and drinking utensils- made out of rustic type material (or at least I would get a representation of a glass, drinking goblet, or earthenware plate -as reward)
*wear - (that's where the idea of gladiator sandals came in, although it is not the same era, I don't care, I still like gladiator sandals) (another reward to work towards)
2. Spartan workouts,
*kettlebells
*strength training
*lots of spartacus-type workouts with google search
3. Spartan jewelry -.amulet, etc. (for reward)
4. Spartan -type movies
5. Spartan surroundings:
*purge possessions (or at least reduce clutter)
6. Motivating music for training for 5K
7. Spartan mud races - thought about signing up for one just for the theme, but have decided to do something similar like obstacle course for beginners -as I am not anywhere near the shape for a Spartan Mud Race
8. ?

Still thinking on ways to keep it interesting

I'm having fun with that idea you had awhile back Sparta, about "themed" weight loss. I love Zombie apocalypse training. It makes it so much funner to get my exercise in! I even wrote a blog about it once, long time ago....I got a popular blog award for it! It's here, in case you want to read it:

Yes more freggies seem to fill you up without sabotaging the calorie range or leaving you hungry...I am still trying to make 50% of each meal freggies and eat them first to fill up on them and then only what I ahve room left to eat...everything else stays on the plate...

Good morning!
There's a heat wave here, I hope you are staying cooler than I am . My exercise today is going to be in the pool, and I have a really cute new suit that I haven't worn yet.

I like the idea of exercise and food journal, having a written record you can read and look at seems like a great idea. I think that 80/20 is prolly right, it sounds right. I have to fight with myself to not eat more, its hard. But I didn't get to be this size by going hungry. =)

I find that the more fruits and veggies I eat, the more I can eat and stay in my calorie range. That helps.

Your protein shake sounds good, I"m going to try it.

Doing well.
Good for you for staying on target, I KNOW you will succeed!

Today, I started a journal for food and exercise - writing down what I eat and when, and what type of exercise and when.

I had 2 scrambled eggs and 1 apricot for breakfast. (Normally, I would have more food than this. In fact, I looked at the cottage cheese, and 1/2 cup is 100 calories, and I had to stop myself from mindlessly eating out of the carton).

This is really going to be different, in fact eating less will be a big change. They say that losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise.

Good for you on the Subway idea, fresh veggies!

I made a protein shake the other morning and put spinach in it. I had actually never put raw spinach in a smoothie, but it was good (banana, spinach, blueberries, almond butter, protein powder, flax seed, spirulina, ice, and water).

Yes, your grocery bag of pounds lost will be significant! Stay the course! and I will too.
