Wow, how inspiring! I'm a dietitian, and currently working in foodservice more than clinical and education because I just don't feel like I'm setting a very good example. Just started today, and feeling very motivated!

There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results. When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world Breathe in love & compassion.. Breathe out peace & forgiveness. Pacific time

Definately had felt similarly as a psychotherapist. I always felt my weight was not exactly the best broadcast of my own mental health. Now, after finding how tightly wound together mental and physical health can be, I always keep it in mind as a factor when counseling others and often draw from my own experience regarding the emotional boost one gets from taking control of one's physical well-being.
Congratulations! Us health professionals are poised perfectly to pass along The Spark! :-)

When I was large I felt I had no right to try to teach a patient of mine how to eat and to tell them how obesity could cause so much health problems. Now I can teach and when they say you don't know how I feel, I just show them all the weight I have lost and how much better I feel.
If you don't love yourself, how can you love someone else.
