We saw that happen too, and only lost a few more each semester due to failure to maintain the required average. We started out around 90 and are down to around 50.Nearly all of us are dieting, doing WW and exercising.None of want to be fat! C'mon who's gonna take nutritional advice from a fat nurse?! I know I would giggle to myself and think, yeah right & you would know. I don't want people doing that to me! I want to be a good example.

They say it is better to be poor and happy than rich and miserable, but how about a compromise like moderately rich and just moody?

Thanks...and good luck to you too. I'm 37 now...38 in October, but I figure it will take me a few years more to get the BSN and/or MSN....we had a lot who didn't survive the first year of school..our class was nearly cut in half, but with the addition of transfer students and transition from LPN students this year, we are back up in enrollment. A lot of us gained weight last year, but I think even more of us are wanting to get rid of it this year.

Doesn't it feel great?! I'm 38 and finishing my bachelor's in nursing this year. Classes start on the 27th for me. Enjoy it! It's really hard - I think ADN programs are even harder too- but it's worth it. I think nursing school tends to pack on weight. All of us in our class (that survived the grade cuts)have gained weight. Some more than others. Snacking on the run & during lectures is my problem. Not to mention a welath of unhealthy choices in the cafeteria. Good luck to you!

Yesterday we had our orientation for our sophomore year in an ADN program. I'll be graduating in May 2008 and will take my RN boards next summer. I'm so excited and just had to share in the joy! It's been a long time coming and it's a huge dream accomplished when I walk that stage in the Spring.

I plan on going to work after graduation but enrolling in an RN to BSN program right away with a long term goal of continued education to become a nurse practitioner....I may be 40 something when I finish, but I'll have done what I wanted to do in life.

Weight loss wise, I'm hoping to be better with eating and school...I tended to snack a lot during lectures last year and I could do a whole lot better by just drinking water and bringing a healthy lunch and snacks...that's my goal for this last year.

Well, I hope everyone else is having a great week!!
