Thank you for your thoughts. I wanted to see if anyone was following a five to six meal plan, three regular meals with snacks to keep the hunger bug under control. How that worked on a night shift and on off days. I am a Respiratory Care Practitioner and my on the job walking varies from very little to go crazy. I also have Lymphedema in my right leg so I have an ill-fitted shoe that makes walking a pain and add arthritis to that. Big fun in my body.

Hey I am on the nightshift also and work the same hours as you do.I just simply treat the evening when I get up as any morning and eat accordingly.My first meal I drink coffee when I get to work and have fruit and what I would normally eat for lunch with a huge glass of ice water then I am off to do medication and sick call.I spend the next two to three hours doing that and drink ice water the whole time.I keep it on my med cart even.Its about eleven pm when I have dinner and around seven thirty or so that I have breakfast.I know its mixed up but I try to have the lightest meal not long before I know I am going to sleep.I walk alot on my job but I am trying to work in using the treadmill maybe when I wake about four and have a shower.Its hard when the shifts are twelves and you have to sleep at least seven or eight hours.That doesn't give much personel time if you have a commute.Fortunately my commute is only ten minutes now.I hope this helps you. Just some thoughts but on my weekend off I try to stay up as long as I can that day and sleep normal night hours.I may take an hour or two nap but then am up and sleep Friday night so I can enjoy a regular family life for the weekend.I then take a nap before work on the Monday and I am off to the races by that night. I wanted to share that I bring a piece of fruit and some nuts for a snack break and allow my self one diet drink a night if I drink it.I love crystal light and ice tea so I sometimes opt for that.

Actually there is alot of things i dont understand with your post, such as the past where you write you may mot want to discuss tings with me???? I have been told to eat 5-6 meal a day and am in the process of of looking for them. I have a few (10-20) saved. I am also on a low sodium diet and on a low red meat diet as well.

I need help meal planing on the NOC schedule. I work 12's, two on two off, three on, two off, etc. Getting only four hours of sleep and odd schedules makes for poor eating. I would like to plan on the six small meals a day with calories under 2000 and high vegie, some sea food, very minimal meat. Recipe ideas, one pot meals for lunches and so on and especially on the off days. If you work this schedule or got ideas, help.
