There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.
When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world

Several years ago, I heard a great lecture by a vegetarian gastroenterologist. I was SO impressed that eating plenty of fiber really does help make up for imperfect lives. No, nothing replaces healthy living. But we're all bombarded by impurities & getting lots of fiber really does help keep us cleaned out & more resilient to life. Losing more fat-weight is a huge PLUS!
Recent research in the Journal of Nutrition suggests eating more fiber as a way to prevent weight gain or even encourage weight loss. Over the course of the two-year study, the researchers found that boosting fiber by 8 grams for every 1,000 calories resulted in about 4 Ĺ pounds of weight lost.
