Hope it works. If it doesn't, ask for a microscopic exam of the rash.

Have a TERRIFIC day!

Thanks for the info. So I got in touch with the dermatologist office and he wants to try another topical, though stronger than the last one. The prescription wasn't ready when I left work so I'll be picking it up tomorrow. He also suggested that I continue to stay out of the pool.

To be continued......

I also hate themo warmed pools back home in New Zealand. The one and only time the kids in our family went swimming my sister was near dead from getting meningitis through water sources.. She survived and no one else got her form for meningitis before being admitted to hospital the doctor was pretty sure it was the themo pools..
We don't swim in lakes or ponds in denmark when it gets hot and there is no wind to avoid water stagnating. This breeds blue algies that can kill people and pets.
I miss New Zealand's lively beaches- in denmark even the habour when it lacks wind in summer makes the Mariager fjord stagnate and all fish life just dies off until the wind returns and makes high waves giving the sea bottom life again.
The smell is beyond terrible. The habour basin lacks oxgyen and all the eels, fish and shell fish turn belly up. The local fishermen are in panic can see all the fish swimming at the surface of the water gasping for oxygen and collect as many fish and bring them out past the habour so they have a chance to survive.. The eel is getting rare around the waters of denmark..

FYI: chemicals used in commercial pools include, calcium chloride, sulphuric acid, sodium bicarbonate[baking soda] and some others. To the best of my knowledge if calcium chloride and sulphuric acid mix in liquid form, then mustard gas is created!! Having worked in the industry, i.e. leisure, this is quite common. It could well be that there was a slight chemical imbalance in the pool on the day in question, and yes, sometimes it can persist. If a steroidal cream hase'nt cleared it, then I agree, back to your health professional. Please keep us informed.

i would go back to the dermatologist and get re assessed again......these rashes can take quite awhile to respond soemtimes......
in the mean time till you see the dr you could try to get some relief with.........

Apply cool compresses to the affected areas
Bathe in Epson salts or baking soda
Soak in oatmeal baths, such as Aveeno
Apply baking soda paste to the rash

hope you get some relief soon..........i had such a rash from the pool i went to sometime ago........

Was a scraping taken of the rash and looked at under the microscope? I hate to say this but scabies is often misdiagnosed.

In December I started getting a rash after taking a patient in the pool at work. It just got worse and I went to my doc. She prescribed a topical steroid cream which didn't help much. She sent me to a dermatologist and he put me on prednesone which helped decrease the urge to itch and cleared up the rash until I finished the medicine on Friday and the rash came back on Saturday. Now what? I've been out of the pool since the beginning of January.
